Yo guys, the tracking number IS on these boxes, under the Airway Bill number;

http://www.track-shipments.com/track-trace.aspx?pref=AWB&awbno=87150508076

Click "To English" and the tracking number is 87150508076

Doesn't give much information, but it shows that it left on June 25th and there are 135 Pieces.

When I go to the English language page, it says that the chips got on a plane, and a plane departed ...

I don't see anything that says a plane arrived.

Ladies and Gentlemen.... The plane is still flying!!!

Not if they just wanted to delay all the other chips for a bit. They wouldn't have to completely scam anyone, just hold up the delivery of everyone's chips to make a greater ROI and then send them out a month or two later than expected.

Like I said, not accusing anyone, just throwing it out there.

That IS scamming everyone, and now the US, of which Bitsycom is a registered company now recognises Bitcoin as a currency, and Bitsyncom fits the description of a 'common enterprise' and the volume of chips they have purposely delayed to manipulate the network's hashrate they are directly fraudulently manipulating a currency for their own gain. That's major f**king fraud on a grand scale. I really don't think Yifu has though this through at all.

This is very very serious...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Currency_intervention

http://ia800904.us.archive.org/35/items/gov.uscourts.txed.146063/gov.uscourts.txed.146063.23.0.pdf
In that case, pump-and-dumps are fraud as well since they manipulate the currency value. I really don't want to bring in the authorities because we are just asking for the very thing we don't want - i.e., the government to come in and start regulating all BTC transactions and exchanges.

What if the group buys (or some of them) are "in" on the "delay" thing? Not to knock anyone - just speculation.
1505  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013 on: August 09, 2013, 01:08:46 PM
Someone wanted the chips, threats were made: "hold off the orders or we'll send the Yakuza after your ass." Chips have been running off the machines like crazy and being sold on alibaba and all around china with a trickle of them finishing off our orders.

I think we need to seriously consider making sure that the ASIC chip technology gets nowhere close to China, IOW don't get them made from Chinese manufacturers. There have to be others out there. China is just shooting yourself in the foot - they will steal your tech, patent infringe like a mofo and sell to the highest bidder.

You know how it is - you've been on a long plane flight - you've been drinking free booze all flight in first class - you get back in front of your computer you've not been near for weeks due to partying, whoring and boozing in Vegas, and it's like
"Hmm PMs and emails while I've been away ... oh well, guess I better say something before I pass out so I can ignore that crap for another week ..."
Wakes up the next morning ... oh crap I said "tomorrow" in the post ... oh well no one will notice anything different if I do nothing for a few days, they're used to that from me, and I am only a PR guy, not like I know anything about hardware or software and have control over anything except delaying deliveries ... ... ...

don't you got better things to do like writing code mr. software engineer than waste time with some first-class-riding booze-drinking "pr guy" like me?

anyhow, update is live on main page. http://avalon-asics.com

Extortion, a familiar tactic when it comes to the Bitcoin scene and business in China.

I'm sorry but i have to call your update a big bullshit too. Since you already knew that extortion is a familiar tactic when it comes to Bitcoin maybe you should've thought about it long before accepting millions of $ worth or pre-orders. I really liked Avalon before this but then they are in the BFL zone. I want to be your customer again, but this statement just made me think twice when ordering from you.

Quote
~200k chips stuck in custom right at this moment for about 2 weeks now, this matter is very painful for us and our customers. As majority of the chip orders ( 70% ) totaling ~800k is made between early and mid-may resulting in a tight time frame to work with.

So if ~200k chips are stuck in customs where are the rest of the 600k chips?

Also i remember that you promised Gen2 chips somewhere around January 2014. Thank you for warning us ahead of the new Gen2 chip that will have "immediate delivery" in Octomber. Nice way to screw up for all your chips customers so you can get more cash in hands. Let's hope someone else can do it better because i'm done with chinese way of doing business.
At least we know they won't be able to make the October delivery deadline.

I am happy to hear the news from Yifu. I feel the tone of this community has a pretty poor attitude towards the engineers that make it all possible, and the people that work hard creating companies doing what they love (which is not sitting around making sure mining rigs have power). I know BFL took a really long time to develop their product, but Avalon has their product developed.

All this talk about making roi... maybe you should power them with an excersice bike instead of paying for overpriced middle America electricity fees. You would have enough time to calm down and make some happy molecules in your brains (these are important). Also if you plan on making real money(over 50k/yr min) by mining you might want to start looking for a real job again, I mine to support the bitcoin currency and to generate a littlte bit of it for myself, I also work 2 jobs and create electronics as a revenue generating hobby.

You must have understood the risk involved when you spent the money on chips... hell their wasn't even a working board design (other than avalons) when I spent my money. You must have seen what went down with BFL before you spent money on pre order chips from Avalon... Im glad I talked my buddy out of dropping $20k on boards from terrahash (dropped $2k instead, put 15k in a hedge and a little liquid). Did you not understand the rise in difficulty that was going to occur? I also didn't put all my eggs in one basket... if you are looking at bitcoin mining hardware as an investment then you should really diversify so you don't get burned.

I just feel the attitude in this room is a bit dark and could use some light. Especially seeing how none of this technology even existed a year ago and you are all complaining how screwed you are to not have the latest and greatest toys.

Don't give us your holier-than-thou BS - "I don't care if I make profit, I am in this for the betterment of the bitcoin network". Total crap. The betterment of the bitcoin network results from making profit - profit is what is guaranteeing efficiency and reliability in the network. Your view actually prevents healthy growth of the network, because you aren't demanding that its infrastructure improve.

The rise in difficulty IS understood, which is why getting these products on time is necessary. When we don't get the products on time, that hurts Bitcoin, not just us because good BTC investment money went after bad. You obviously do not understand economics in general, and definitely don't understand how it applies to the growth of Bitcoin.

It is also a bad idea to share the tracking number because....as has been evident before Kano. Someone out there has been doing social engineering to steal Avalons...so a couple multiples of "ten thousand(s)" of chips would make a great DHL target.

Taking a non-descript screen cap of the claimed customs hold is enough as long as certain critical elements are blurred out so the social engineering can't take place.

Keep in mind they now have Yifu and the teams personal info, so pretending to be them is possible. Especially if there is a PDF out in the wild with all the team members personal addresses and details.
What??? They can't give the tracking numbers to those who they are shipping to? Yet another dumb statement from the sympathizers.

On another note, we don't know whether this "We have been targeted" story is even true, this could be just a emotional diversion to make us feel sorry for the Avalon team and cushion the blow.

Vgil, are you stupid or didn't you read what I wrote carefully?

You want them to give out tracking numbers so anyone with some skill can re-route the package while still in transit? Are you stupid or what?

You're argument here makes no sense. If these chips are being shipped to specific people then give those specific people their specific tracking number. I do not see the harm in that. The likely-hood of someone stumbling upon a tracking number is minute and even if they did they would have to travel to the destination of delivery and then hope they got to the package before the person it was shipped to.

The rumor I am hearing is "free ships for everyone!"

Can anyone confirm?

the "i'm not dead thread."

Just got off the plane, expect lots of news tomorrow.

The news is...

He just got back from China and we will soon see 50 Alibaba Companies offering knockoffs for $5.55

at first I was like lol, but then this: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/994289436/Avalon_chip_A3256_Q48_avalon_asic.html

this is srsly disturbing me now. Why? Scam? 28-30$ a piece is a pretty shitty price, but in my world it makes perfect sense for a big-fish buying chips before everyone else und reselling them..
No big fish needs to pre purchase them. Anything you get made in China will be stolen - i.e., the people who work in the facility WILL make extra of your product once you give them the design. So, Yifu gives this Chinese company the design, and orders 2 million... they will run off 2 million for Yifu and 1 million for themselves and not pay Yifu anything for it. That is why when you go to China you can purchase brand name clothing without the brand tag for like 60% off the msrp.

You have to expect that the hash rate will go up much more than the theoretical from the nominal chip orders alone due to this. When you get something made in China you are pretty much guaranteeing that your product design will be infringed upon and your tech stolen.

So are we going to get news tomorrow, as in 8/9 or today? The thread was started at 12:32 AM in my timezone, which could have been 8/7 in another timezone.

The topic name is "Incoming Avalon News 8/9/2013".
Oh, yeah, didn't see that. Just saw "Incoming Avalon News".

1514  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon, for the sake of Open Source, ship the chips. on: August 08, 2013, 02:37:54 PM
Please DON'T ship them!! At least not for 2 more months.

Batch 2 just shipped less than a month ago after being long delayed. Give us some time to make back our ROI before you flood the mining world with discrete chips.

The situation must be ship by the date promised, if you don't we won't be buying from Avalon in future. Screw with the community at your own risk.

1515  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: WTF Avalon? Ship the Chips! on: August 07, 2013, 11:42:24 PM
They have to have the chips, they have already made them and sent out product. That means they are either sitting on the chips or lost the funds to pay for the chips or the Chinese won't let them have the chips.
1516  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: WTF Avalon? Ship the Chips! on: August 07, 2013, 11:34:45 PM
I think some of this may have to do with controlling the amount of Hashing power on the network. They think they know best how it should progress and so they are going to keep everyone else from mining until they think the time is right to up the hashing power.

No. I'm sick of hearing this excuse. If they were being "responsible" they would've cut-off their ordering at so many #'s of batches. NOT take your money and fail to deliver.
I'm not saying they are being "responsible", I am saying they think they have some control over it and are exercising it either for themselves or the early buyers.

I'll say what's not being said here.

Clearly the Chinese have discovered their new found love for mining and simply put, the Chinese gets it first. Perhaps the reason why anybody is having a hard time with any shipment of miners coming from China except those usb eruptors.

Thing about China is that you know they are running off batches for themselves. That is what they do with NorthFace and Nike and the rest. They just make a few extra for themselves and then sell them to tourists for bargains.
1519  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 07, 2013, 05:08:04 PM
No, but in the meantime if I hold I cannot take part in any profit potential with these funds. So, I "lost" them. One doesn't need to sell to have a negative position.

When the share price is at a low, the profit potential comes from buying shares, not selling them.  In other words, you missed the boat this time.
Obviously. But you need to free up your coins to make money rather than having them held hostage for weeks or months waiting for it to go up.
1520  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 07, 2013, 04:41:02 PM
I just lost almost BTC2 because of this. Damn.

Did somebody force you to sell your shares for lower than you purchased them for?

I'm glad all these shares are getting dumped. Hopefully, they'll get bought up by people in it for the long game and not be put back up for sale.

After I sold all my shares at 0.3 couldn't resist now and started buying again.  Grin

Now is the time to get in.

I did the same but got back in earlier and made some more coin - now I have lost all I made.
