Is the pool down for anyone else? I can't access it right now. Sad

The new PSUs have arrived and before any of the overworked ones croaked! I've also put off some necessary equipment relocation projects until I could do it all at once and today's the day it seems. I'll try to keep any downtime to a minimum of course.

Cheers.
Thanks for keeping us updated and making sure equipment is in tip-top shape. You have no idea how much it helps a project like this to have good management.

Also, not sure if you're into this creativex, but do you ever buy used ASICs from Craigslist or Kijiji locally? If you're in a larger center chances are there would be some for sale. If you feel like bartering with good reasons chances are you might be able to pick up a couple decent ones for a fair to cheaper price. But again, that's only if people are selling them locally and if you're interested in searching it out.
1823  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: My Name is... on: August 29, 2013, 01:27:01 AM
My name is Guitar of the famous land "Plinker" and here's my story.

I heard about bitcoin mining right during the largest price bubble in history ($266) and watched as my 7850 struggled to mine any serious amount of coins. I then watched as the price dropped, and, in turn, my profits. This wasn't my first experience with mining, I started mining probably two months before for less than a day, but stopped because I said "screw this, I'm only making 0.03BTC per day, that's just mere pennies!" I shall never forgive myself for this decision.

Anyway, I mined on my 7850 for around a month, it probably generated around 0.3 BTC. Then I got the big guns; a 5970 I found used, and paid $225 for. Unfortunately the babbling idiot I am I said "250W from a single fan card? No problem, a small room can disperse that heat easy-peasy!" Then I realized it generated enormous amounts of heat and noise, and unfortunately exactly a week later I rage-sold it for $225. Nothing lost, 0.09BTC gained. Cheesy

Then I gave up on bitcoin mining at around 21 million difficulty, too high for me. I bought a cheap used Gigabyte 7950 for $200 in early July. I went to LTC instead then, hoping the price would go up when it got to Gox. Hasn't got to Gox yet and I'm still holding my Litecoins that I mined. Then I moved to DGC for over a month, made a decent amount on them until 3 days ago when multipool went whacko and I moved to Middlecoin.

In total I've made around $150 at current exchange rates.

Next!

Creativex, out of curiosity and if you have the time to answer, how much are the power costs per Kw/HR where all the miners are set up at?
1825  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: August 28, 2013, 02:17:38 PM
what about this?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=282867.0

Asicminer blade block eruptor per 3.9 if you take 20 - 78BTC per 200GH/s (probably even 260GH/s overclocked). Efficiency is low, but the price is really good.
That's always an option, but I think there might be better deals once/if KnC ships. Not sure if bASIC is into KnC miners, but they look to be pretty good. But good find. Smiley

Also, are there still any motions that bASIC puts up on BTCT anymore? It looks like the last one was mid-July. Maybe there just isn't anything to vote on.
1826  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: August 28, 2013, 03:01:04 AM
I'm now the proud owner of a single bASIC-MINING share, which I believe equates to around 25MH/s with current equipment. Cheesy

Welcome to the Gentlemen's Club. Smiley
Why thank you good sir.

I seem to have a natural knack of buying when everything is low. Bought my share at the low point today (0.2005BTC) and when I bought some DMS.MINING shares they were low as well.

Arg, I'd buy a few of these shares right now if Bitfunder didn't have such a stupid funding method. I hate it.  Angry

You would buy an overpriced shares ? good that the stupid funding method is there then ...
?

The market price is rated at 0.001BTC per share right now down from the usual 0.25BTC. Is that correct or am I missing something?

Edit: Dammit missed my opportunity when they were selling for that. Oh well.

I'm debating whether to buy a share in bASIC today or sometime later.

Any real reason to wait? It takes me about 10 days of mining to generate enough to buy a single share of bASIC-MINING.

I have a few shares in DMS.MINING that are paying well and have made me a decent bit, but I don't know, should I buy a bASIC share now?

So flound you added a 1.5% fee to the pool?

Flound, out of curiosity, how much would it cost per month to get a stable server with minimal downtime (less than 15 minutes per day, quick loading pages) for the NA region?
1833  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switching][0%fee] multipool.us:Always mine the most profitable coin on: August 26, 2013, 12:58:43 AM
having the same problem
+1 to this. It's been down all day and my usual 3-4 payments of 25DGC aren't here either. Like, I haven't gotten a single DGC into my wallet today. The site says I've only mined 18DGC today when I lasted checked (when the site was up).
1834  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Protecting the blockchain as an art on: August 25, 2013, 03:38:31 PM
Have you dropped the price to a reasonable .01BTC yet?  I'd like to see RoI sometime before 2020.

+1 What's the price of these devices? They look great by the way.
+1 again. Can we get pictures of the back of them as well? And even at 0.1BTC I think they'll take a very long time to pay off.
1835  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: August 24, 2013, 05:10:53 PM
Block reward   25
Difficulty   50810339
Hashes per MINING   5000000

Now I'm confused. Why are you not using the current difficulty?
This was from yesterday's amounts, like how much it would have been able to mine the past 24 hours, and the difficulty was at 50.8M 24 hours ago.

Tomorrow we'll see our dividends shrink, I'm wondering how that will affect the price because right now it's at a pretty decent high.

Same with my DGC deposit. I sent an email, hope he'll reply soon!
1837  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Worth it to buy a block erupter? on: August 22, 2013, 04:32:28 PM
I can now get them for $40 or less (I'm hoping $30 per miner) so I think I might get a single miner to use with my Raspberry Pi. Looking the the genesis block's estimates, it'll make around $7 in it's lifetime but I think $23 for a hobby (I guess not adding in USB hub and fan) is alright to me. I'll get back to you guys if I decide to buy it.

I'm having issues with mining on ypool with their mining software.

My 3570k submitted 6 shares in the first couple minutes of mining, but hasn't submitted a single share in 10 minutes. Is this normal?
1839  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info security [FUNDS STOLEN] on: August 20, 2013, 03:38:46 PM
I have a few questions:
1. I've only used Google Chrome with my blockchain wallet, and haven't installed the blockchain extensions, only used the website. I've also cleared my cache just a minute ago, am I vulnerable?
2. Were paper wallets at risk with this? Like, just an imported public address, with no private key.
3.) After clearing my cache, is there anything else I should do to make sure I'm secure?
1840  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: August 19, 2013, 11:02:55 PM
All three new batch 1s are hashing. They're only running @ 300Mhz as I haven't yet flashed them, but they're all in tip top shape and working for us now. Hello 1.4Th/s.

Cheers.
Pssst.... time to update the OP!

He can do that later. Right now, there are Avies to config!  Grin
You're right!

MOAR VIRTUAL MONAAAAAYZ!

More volts = more money. :p At least with GPU's lol. (but that's bad advice, don't actually use it lol)
