1541  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What is average cost of electricity for miners? on: July 17, 2014, 05:38:57 PM
I'm located in Canada, and I'm paying about 12 cents per kWhr.
1542  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: *** GHash.IO mining pool official page *** on: July 17, 2014, 01:58:42 PM
Why not temporarily increase fees at the pool until the pool has a more reasonable hashrate?

Slowly increase the fee until the pool hashrate falls enough to only be 30% of the network, or something like that.
1543  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PBmining - legit? on: July 17, 2014, 03:57:01 AM
I'm member #36!!  Been getting paid every Sunday since January!!
PB used to sell hardware in 2013...excellent reviews on ebay WAY b4 they got into the cloud mining biz.
Hope you realize that the eBay account was (what I assume to be) a single man operation last year. It was run under the name "SaskatoonRoxy". You can see this from one of the reviews, it says "Happy to deal with SaskatoonRoxy. Good value."

So a year ago I assume it was just his personal eBay account. Now he's changed the username to PBMining, that's the only thing that changed.  Wink

Hopefully JPC can make a comeback soon, things aren't looking great though. Sad

I also have some 290/290X's and a bunch of mobo/cpu's.  Not selling any PSU's though
Do you by chance have any Sapphire 290 Tri-X cards available?  Grin

So what are all you guys mining now? I was renting my rigs out at MRR for Freshcoin, but now the hype has seemed to have died down on that coin.
good at least it will be minable now...  Grin
I guess I'll just leave the rigs for rent on Freshcoin then. Hopefully somebody rents it, the prices (for rig owners) were amazing yesterday.

Quick question guys, are any of you having issues where when you're mining Freshcoin, the pool displays an insanely low hashrate, while CCMiner displays a normal hashrate?

I've tried a couple of pools, and they report that my 4x 750 Ti's are achieving about 32KH/s, while in CCMiner it says that it's doing about 11.8MH/s. I have about 98% share efficiency so that shouldn't be an issue, and here's what my config looks like:

ccminer.exe -a fresh -o POOL:PORT -u WORKER-NAME -p PASSWORD
pause

Do I need to add "-f 256" for a normal hashrate to show up, or is something else buggy?

EDIT: Yes the "-f 256" flag is needed. I'm so stupid, I've been working on this for a couple hours now wondering what was wrong.

Is this needed for solo mining as well?  Not that Solo seems to be an option anymore, but I was thinking of trying it either overnight or maybe after the block rewards drop.  I'm only seeing about 20 coins per hour with 16ish  Mh/s.
Hmm I have no idea, try asking in the Freshcoin topic. I'm just mining at pools, didn't even bother with trying to solo mine.

So, I figured I'd try out KopiemTu. Booted it all up fine, got to the desktop and I find that the keyboard and mouse don't work. I've tried two generic pairs of keyboards and mice in different USB ports and nothing seems to work. Any ideas of what's causing this?

strange, first such case...
could you press TAB at first booting screen, and type: rescue <Enter>
then check, if under SystemRescueCD your keyboard and mouse is working fine
(use from command line: startx <Enter> to start X and check your mouse too)
I'll test that in a couple of hours. Currently the machine is being rented for a few hours and I wouldn't want to shut the rental down early. But I'll definitely try your suggestion and get back to you later today.

My wallet won't sync up.  Undecided

addnode=144.76.142.47
addnode=144.76.142.49

Thanks, I added the nodes. Hopefully that'll help it sync up a little quicker.

1557  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Beautiful Lake House in Maine, completely off the grid on: July 07, 2014, 04:03:52 PM
Beautiful house! Have you, or your family member who owns it ever thought about installing some solar panels, or other source of energy on the property? It looks like that could work out on this property, if solar panels don't cost too much where you're located.

I'm going to give KopiemTu a shot later today. Hope it works with my wireless adapter (Linksys AE2500, doesn't work in Ubuntu though) but if not I have one that should work fine with Linux.

Why is the bottom falling out? I would have thought we would have found a bottom around 18? Are there any plans for something new to simulate this great coin?

-Mintpal-
This.

Sadly when coins hit MintPal they seem to die. :/ Hopefully JPC doesn't die.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I was gone for a few hours and thought about it while I was away. I figured I'd try putting two or three cards directly into the PCI-e 16x slots and save the last one or two for risers. I think I'll go try that now, and see if there's any difference.
