Just report him to the authorities. Be detailed, don't be threatening or belligerent. Doxing him mom won't do anything, but get enough fraud reports in and they might get something done. You can also report him to the Saskatoon police. http://police.saskatoon.sk.ca/onlinereporting/Users can also report him to Saskatoon Crime Stoppers. If users have suspicions about PB Mining running a scam, these reports can be submitted here and the SPS (Saskatoon Police Service) will look into them. Here's a link to Crime Stoppers: http://www.saskatooncrimestoppers.com/home

Well, let's just be devil's advocate for a second here guys. Most PBMining payments are sent between 3AM-7AM "Blockchain.info time". (not sure what timezone they use) Currently it's 1:38 PM "Blockchain.info time". The latest their payments have been sent is at 2:45 PM, so there's still a chance they'll pay out today.
However if not, then we'll see how this plays out.

|
|
So nobody has received a payment from PB today, is that correct?

I noticed they also closed their service announcements thread.
Seems like things are building up... which is never a good sign. And that "changed our formula" is a huge red flag. Like it should go based on a how many each person has hashes right not a formula.. unless I been educated poorley on how mining works.. please correct me if I am.
at this point, I given up all hope for any form of cloud services..
Do you have a link to the thread they closed? It looks like their main thread is still open.

That's probably as far as you'll be able to get it without modding. IIRC the highest someone was able to have their S1 hash at was about 220GH/s, but that would have been a great clocking miner, and not all S1's can clock like that.

Well this seams like a dead loss.
Are you seriously saying you think that your wallet is encrypted with a 30-40 character password of which you can't remember any of it? (because if that is what you are saying then I would be seriously doubting that it actually is your wallet at all) He could have generated a password in KeePass or similar, and then forget to save KeePass once he had the password generated, losing access to the wallet. I use KeePass and I know a couple of times I've almost shut off my machine without saving my new KeePass entries.

I've messaged Dave via the service and said I would happily pay him, no reply yet. I had a thought, if I export the dat as a .txt, then change the encrypted private key to a new one that I know, then export to a .dat Would that work? Like overwriting the original encrypted private key?
That wouldn't work. If you changed the encrypted private key to a new private key with a new password, you would lose access to your old encrypted private key holding the 10BTC worth. One thing you can do though if you can't figure out the password is keep the wallet.dat file safely backed up for a long time - I'm sure that in 10 or 15 years it'll be much easier to crack a 30-40 character password than it is now with faster computing, plus there's always a chance that the encryption algorithm for Bitcoin-Qt will be cracked. That'll definitely be a long time from now, but it might be worth it.

Does anyone know any bruteforce programs for the wallet.dat, that can use a GPU?
I believe Wallet Recovery Services uses a GPU bruteforcing program. You could try asking to see if Dave (the owner) would be willing to send you the program. I have a suspicion he wouldn't want to send it over though, because it's custom coded for him.

Try going into your router to see connected devices, the S1 should be one of the connected devices. Then find it's IP and connect to it from your PC. If you can't find it on your router, make sure that it's on the same IP range as your router. If your router isn't on the 192.168.1.x range, then follow this guide to change the S1's IP: https://docs.google.com/document/d/155UOVTLYBcNRWTDKAkLLStFbpCMv0eK4f1gkNoyRiZ0/view

864 HE errors isn't much at all for that number of accepted shares. As long as HW errors are under 5% you shouldn't worry.

Did you ever use Blockchain over Tor? There were some exit nodes that were stealing wallet logins awhile ago.

is PB Mining typically slow at responding to emails and such?
I have emailed several times about my Bitcoin address with no answer, and I have placed an order almost 24 hours ago and it hasnt been actioned. I tried two small tests and they went through very quickly of 20GH and 50GH. But the 500GH order has been hanging there.
Hoping it will all get sorted. Its my first foray into Bitcoin, hoping that some of the content in this thread isnt true.
Peter
Hi Peter, Just a tip, follow badbitcoin.org via twitter, along wit pumpdumptracker, they will notify anything fishy. PBmining has been the topic for quite sometime now, but a anonymous person behind a company is never a good sign. All this info can be easily found, small tip, investigate, before investing I wouldn't trust badbitcoin all that much, if you check out their site and twitter they're really pushing GAWMiners and Paycoin into your face. GAWMiners has turned fairly sketchy in the last while (in my opinion) yet they're still eagerly advertising them.

Wow, that's awesome! This must be the first time in years the difficulty has gone done.

OK PM sent on the 290 Tri-X.
|
|
|
If you purchase $100,000 worth of hardware I'm willing to bet that some companies would be able to offer discounts. They probably wouldn't accept bitcoin because of their reputation though. For example Bitmain has a good reputation and wouldn't run off with your coins.

Hmm I'll probably pass on that then. After shipping costs to Canada it would probably make more sense to buy one new, I didn't realize how much the prices for these cards have dropped since they released.
Sorry about that, but good luck selling all the cards!
|
|
|
Where are you shipping from and is shipping included in the prices? I may be interested in a 290 Tri-X.
|
|
|
Damn I would have sent an offer on that PC case but shipping to Canada would be costing at least $40 so that definitely wouldn't be worth it.

wouldn't be more accurate to compare by square millimeters of silicium ? number of transistors ? GH/s/Watt maybe ?
no ASIC is 6 PTH/s ... you are talking of a device with many ICs ...(integrated Circuit)
That number is 6TH/s, not 6PH/s. Think you might have read it wrong.
