I don't blame the dude for not going escrow route.  I almost got scammed by a fake escrower.

In-person transactions are the best for Bitcoin gear, hands down.
Or use a trusted escrow person such as OgNasty and you'll be fine.

Unless you want to drive/fly to where the miner is located, using a trusted escrow would be much easier.

To the others who entered and did not win...I will offer you a slot in the sig campaign. I was thinking .1BTC for 1 month minimum 50 posts  Kiss

Ugh I guess I'll take that. When does it launch?
I was wondering the same thing. I'd like to participate in this sig campaign when it launches. Smiley

a 34GH/s Jalapeno? Do you have pictures?
1412  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer S1 support and OverClocking thread on: September 21, 2014, 12:30:22 AM
What kind of power usage are you seeing at 406.25MHz? That's amazing how your miner is stable there - none of mine seem to be stable even at 375MHz.  Sad
I've got one that can run at 406 but the power draw is around 420w. I run it at 400 and another at 393 and together they use just over 750w.

That's not actually too bad, I thought power usage would be higher. Considering my S1's do 180GH/s @ 385W, 420W is very reasonable.

Has anyone see any photos of GAW farms. If they exist at all.
Yes, they've provided picture proof. Link to the post: https://hashtalk.org/topic/2040/data-center-pictures/2

Compressed air is better for cleaning computers and electronics - vacuums create static which can damage electronics. Even if you have a normal air compressor, that would work great to clean out miners. I have one and it works great for cleaning all sorts of PC parts, plus it's cheaper than buying compressed air in cans.
1416  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Miner's Heat Generation on: September 20, 2014, 04:04:22 PM
That's a great power rate for a year, I don't blame you for investing in lots of mining gear with a price like that.  Grin
1417  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Be VERY careful with GAW Miners and Hashtalk on: September 20, 2014, 04:03:49 PM
Well right now I'm personally not investing in mining at all. Hashlets were great, but now with the more than triple price increase since they launched ($16 to $50 per MH/s with Hashlet Primes) I'm not investing in them. Plus, in the last few days payments have gone down with Hashlet Primes (from about 0.00066 BTC per MH/s per day to 0.00059 BTC per MH/s per day) so I'm not sure how that will unfold.

I had about half a bitcoin and invested it in hashpower from Cex.io actually quite recently, and used it to sort of generate interest on my bitcoin. Started with 0.5 BTC, withdrew them a week later and I ended up with 0.503 BTC, so it just generated little bits of interest. Cex seems like a fairly safe investment for a "interest" type investment because of how constant their pricing is, however their fees are quite high. Don't expect to make anything serious with Cex though, because of their maintenance fees and such.

So right now I'm not investing in anything, mostly just waiting until something appealing shows up to invest in. Smiley

Geesh with a price like that definitely grab all the mining gear you can. Wouldn't doubt to go with AC cooling then if you can afford the AC units.

If you don't mind me asking, how do you get a price like that?
1419  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Be VERY careful with GAW Miners and Hashtalk on: September 19, 2014, 08:35:21 PM
It clearly says that those pictures are from Genesis-Mining, not PBMining. Did you even read the article? The owner of PBMining only mentioned a statement they posted in that article, he didn't provide pictures of their operations.

Don't bother, let him wither away.
Oh well, I tried.  Cheesy
1420  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S1 not mining on: September 19, 2014, 08:34:47 PM
I'm leaning towards a PSU issue as well. Sometimes the miner looks just fine but it isn't submitting any shares, that can be due to an incorrect DNS setting, but with such a low hashrate I'm betting on the PSU being the culprit.
