1321  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Is this good? on: November 02, 2014, 02:17:17 PM
Looks accurate for desktop and laptop hashrates, however with hashrates like that it isn't worth running. You won't ever make anything with those kinds of speeds mining Bitcoin.
I don't think this is a traditional computer mining, AFAIK there is not any desktop that can mine in excess of 100 MH/s, I don't think that even a GPU rig could mine at these speeds. I would speculate the OP is using an ASIC from the very early days of ASICs
Many GPU's are able to hash in excess of 100MH/s. For example a 7850 is able to hash anywhere from 300-400MH/s, so 100MH/s is quite doable.
1322  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [13000 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+NMC, Stratum, VarDiff, Private Servers on: November 02, 2014, 03:57:28 AM
Sad to hear that BTC Guild is probably going to be sold. I haven't mined much at BTC Guild but from what I've seen and heard (and from my short time on the pool as well) it was a great pool with an outstanding operator. Hopefully the new owners will continue down the same path as BTC Guild has been for so many years.
1323  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: about miners on: November 02, 2014, 03:55:18 AM
Adding onto what notlist3d said, even if you were to purchase ASICs now, unless you have free power, chances are you won't reach a full ROI. You might be better off just investing into straight bitcoin, or other currencies you think might do well in the future.

1325  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: End of an Era on: November 02, 2014, 03:53:06 AM
I've heard that chances are it won't close. Sounds like there are a few people interested in purchasing it. Otherwise it would sure be disappointing to see BTC Guild go. Sad

Four risers remaining! Closing thread until I'm able to find more packaging for the remaining risers.
1327  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Can i use VPS for mining? on: October 29, 2014, 01:31:01 PM
You CAN, but it won't be worth your time or money. The VPS doesnt have nearly the resources needed to mine anything. You can run wallets on there though.

For instance a coin like MiracleCoin which did a proof of faucet would work. All you had to do was keep the wallet open and collect coins.

I think BitNet (VPNcoin) is currently doing that as well.
Yeah you could always try running a node for a coin that rewards node providers. I'm not sure what's going on with Darkcoin, but it might be worth looking into.
1328  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Haunted Hashlet Cloud Mining on: October 28, 2014, 01:39:42 PM
If you were one of the people able to buy one of these Hashlets directly from GAW that would be great. Seeing as they aren't available anymore you could put it on the marketplace and sell it for easily 3-4x more than you paid for it. Not sure why people are willing to pay these prices for a special Hashlet with no differences from a Prime, but I guess for some reason people will.
1329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: About 750ti on: October 25, 2014, 04:54:17 PM
I wouldn't be investing in 750 Ti's right now - even with say, 7 or 8 of them you'd be making less than 0.01 BTC per day total, so chances are you'd be losing money if you pay for power, or your ROI time would be very long, like, over a year.
1330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 750 Ti Mining on: October 25, 2014, 04:51:49 PM
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be many profitable coins to mine on GPU's anymore. One thing you could do is look into using this card for Folding@Home - it performs very well for that.
1331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Video cards overheating on: October 24, 2014, 01:31:48 PM
It could also be the thermal paste on the cards, but if all three of them are hitting high temperatures all at the same time chances are it wouldn't be the thermal paste of them.

Try dusting out the PC and see if that has any affect on temperatures.

1335  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where can I rent rigs? on: October 22, 2014, 02:21:24 AM
I've used MiningRigRentals as well as BetaRigs before and have had positive experiences with both. It's up to you, whatever site you prefer better because it seems that they all have similar prices.

How much would be the shipping to L7E 1X2 with Canadapost?

Any issues with the board (i.e. all sockets good, network port etc) ?
Is BTC-e Code ok for payment (trying to avoid fees here)?

If not possible, I can use the address provided. And the shipping with purolator would be at M9W 5N6. There's no one home when Purolator works Smiley

Cheers!
Shipping through Canada Post would be about $15.25.

Through Purolator it would cost about about $43.

If you're interested in having it shipped through Canada Post I can definitely do so, it would probably make more sense for you to have it shipped through them. It's just that I've had a couple of awful experiences with them in the past couple weeks (lost package, extremely delayed package due to Canada Post error) and because of that I'm trying to transition to a better courier.

As for payment, I'd really prefer being paid directly in Bitcoin, as I don't use use BTC-e.
