I don't think so bitcoin is an cryptocurrency, bitcoin is just based on the internet without internet bitcoin is nothing unlike the dollar it is a hard money so we can use it every time we want unlike bitcoin need a transaction minute a time to send some money, so it is not possible today to replace bitcoin.

Bitcoin is surely a path-braking innovation from Mr. Satoshi, but with due respect, I strongly believe that bitcoin doesn't have the power to replace the century old banking system. Bitcoin probably can introduce a new digital era of currency to the mankind, but can't replace the fiat.

Also I strongly believe that bitcoin is best at its current form. but if it tries to break of the fiat currency system or try to introduce a regularized currency system, it will be destroyed in no time. People are enjoying bitcoin because of its high pricing potential and anonymity. If anything goes wrong, people will not take time forget bitcoin and search for alternate.

correct no body know about the future of USD, currently USD is too much popular there is no doubt about that fact, but no one no about the future may it become defame and bitcoin get the top position. i am sure that very soon bitcoin is going to hold the market not only the crytop market but fiat market also.

Bitcoin will be continuing to grow higher and higher as more Countries are into plans of generating their own digital currency. Hope the digital currency network will make a big change in the entire financial system, but this won't make the path for replacement of dollar. It won't go mainstream, will serve as an alternate for our fiat.

I think one day, in the far future, cryptos will replace fiat comletely, but probably we won't see it during our life time. People are slow to realize what is better for them and they usually stick to what they know for a long time, like fiat for example.

For me i think crypto will not replace fiat because coin the price is not stable you do not know if the coin live long or they die now. Even the price of bitcoin is very high I think it is not the reason to replace dollars. Because the dollars will live more century for sure unlike bitcoin anytime thay have possible they die. So bitcoin replace dollars is very impossible to happen real life.

Replacing the dollar with Bitcoin would need a revolution never seen in the current economic system for "perhaps" get a chance to see it happen. Up to the '80 (I think) Gold was used for trading internationnally until it has been replaced with the dollar. Nowaday, it has been to much used that the dollar is printed in the wall like we say in my language. It will be especially difficult to implement in poor countries. There's not every resident has a smartphone. Therefore, it is too early to talk about the possibility of universal introduction of cryptocurrency everywhere in the world. Bitcoin will not replace the dollar in the next 50 years

I honestly wouldn't just believe these "experts" about such prediction. 10 to 15 years is such a long time, and I bet that they are just playing safe with their predictions. I can say that bitcoin will prevail 100 years from now and that surely will be true. And when there's some major problem along the way, I'd just post again in my blog site that I did not anticipate that and the whole thing was out of the blue. Dollar will not just be erased from the world. The popularity is nothing.

Hell, Instagram models are far more popular than bitcoins.

And what happens when a new era of currency appears? It replaces the old one. It makes the previous one obsolete. I don't know if you realize this but you're actually contradicting yourself.

Bitcoin wouldn't "try" to break fiat system. The fiat system will automatically be broken when bitcoin finally become mainstream. Who says bitcoin will be a regulated currency? Like you said, it would be destroyed when it did that. So it definitely wouldn't do it. Being decentralized and unregulated is the essence of bitcoin, removing any of those features will not make bitcoin any different from the fiat that we know right now.

It's not going to happen. More likely, the dollar will replace itself with 'Digital Dollar 2.0' that will somehow "solve" all the traditional dollars problems and make it more convenient for use (but still fiat.)

Nothing is impossible, the matter is only time and time here will be counted as a millennium or more and I do not think we'll be alive to see that happen. But now I can be sure that in the near future, bitcoin will not replace the dollar because Bitcoin not afford to win dollar, it is not popular with many people around the world and it is only in the development stage. but i think even in the backward countries like African countries and even in Afghanistan they have the facilities of smart phones and internet. they just need awareness about bitcoin and i am sure that they will start using bitcoin and will get benefit from it.

Why? Bitcoin I think only can replace old system payment as Banks, Paypal, Visa ... but not hope it can replace or become to currency look like USD!
