Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

It doesn't appear to be a scam didn't have any issues with refunds.

I remember having some money aside a year ago and contemplating buying one of their rigs; glad I didn't. I don't think it's a scam, but I think they may have gotten in over their heads. Perhaps they should've decreased the maximum orders that they would've taken to a more practical amount. Though I'm sure the money sent by other people (even if refunded later) helped them develop the product more.

Shinyyyy  Cheesy... but my PC sits under my desk and I'm worried the spilled coffee seeping through the top vents might negatively affect hash rates. Yes, I don't mine with a dedicated rig  Roll Eyes

Bet placed, I'm betting on BFL shipping before July.

Hey why not, July is only 13 months after they began taking money for the product.

They finalize testing. I watch their forums regurarly because I ordered Jalapenos. Im confident they will start shipping at the end of April.

Guess they weren't a scam after-all.

Found my posts helpful? Consider buying me a beer :-)!:

How could you possibly be confident they're nearly ready to ship? They've been telling people they're almost ready to ship since last September. What makes recent lies PR any different?

Guess they weren't a scam after-all.

How do you figure that? They announced an October 2012 "honest abe" shipping date for 1w/Gh ASIC products in June of 2012, yet have delivered NOTHING ten months later and their only prototype is getting a whopping 7.5w/Gh. Sounds pretty scammy.

You'll know when they ship because difficulty will sharply increase. Then everyone who wants to mine will need one to compete. Or they dont ship and things continue as they do today.

Difficulty will rise anyway. GPUs and FPGAs are easily profitable at these exchange rates. ASICMiner has 50Th of chips on hand to deploy this month and just ordered 200Th more. Avalon has all but completed shipping of batch 1 and batch 2 shipping is scheduled to begin in less than two weeks.

BFL is the slow pony in the ASIC mining arms race.

Hah, no. Because either there will be a billion asics from other companies already mining or all the bitcoins will already have been mined.

No, it's delayed. They say it will only take 2 extra weeks. Something wrong with the flux capacitor or something.
