I did not try 16.04, but my recollection is that cgminer-gekko-rev2 was really easy on Ubuntu 15.10 i used both bfgminer and cgminer-gekko-rev2 on pi as well, both worked fine. sometimes sticks need a little kick: 1. try with just one first 2. see if it has right settings; you could measure voltage on the back with multimeter even when it is not running 3. do most recent update 4. sudo reboot your system with stick attached to computer or hub (I never used just on a computer, always used hubs)-this sometimes helps 5. check if stick lights up before starting cgminer (unblinking, then it should start blinking when it mines) 6. execute commands properly (add sudo to try with admin)

hi,
I can't seems to make it work on Mint (ubuntu 16.04)
the usb stick is not recognized... using BFGminer
anyone had the same issue?
tks,
Maybe you need to install some libraries. Try this First, become root. Then install all required software and libraries to compile bfgminer.
$ sudo su # apt-get install git autoconf automake libtool pkg-config libcurl4-gnutls-dev libjansson-dev uthashdev libncurses5-dev
Also, in Ubuntu, I prefer to use the custom cgminer https://github.com/wareck/cgminer-gekko

Did you lose some time in there? At 330MHz I'd expect to see a combined average around 54GH and a per-stick WU about 250.

Well I'm not using Ubuntu right now, so I though that maybe it a Windows Fault. I'm using the custom cgminer for windows, should I use another one?

Test pads. 1V8 for measuring the 1.8V logic voltage, 0V9 for measuring the 0.9V PLL voltage, and RESET resets the ASIC. Most people will never need those but they're handy for troubleshooting.

Thanks. And what I need to do to improve the performance of my rig? (Post above)

No idea. But increasing the voltage (measurable on VCORE testpad, range 550-800mV) will allow you to increase the operating frequency. Just make sure you keep everything cool.

The reset is unlikely to do anything, but if you want to try briefly shorting it to ground that resets the chip.

My voltages are 0.776, 0.780 and 0.779, but I keeping getting bad hash rates using the cgminer-gekko-win32 in Windows 10 x64. http://sj.uploads.im/oAWpd.png

I can't say for sure what the issue is (300MHz should show you 16.5GH per stick) but I bet the issue is something to do with Windows 10, which sucks and I will never apologize for saying that.

Ok, can please someone confirm that with a Raspberry Pi can I get better hash rates? I don't want to make an investment and getting bad revenue.

At this point it is a learning tool. One stick at your params (16gh, 6-8w) will produce 29 cents of bitcon/mo and use 18c of electricity if you have 5c/kwh. With 8c electricity, you break even. My calcs are approximate. However, it is a GREAT tool to learn mining programs, pi, how mining work, etc. Education.

I had to format my laptop and re-install Ubuntu 16.04 and my voltages now are 0.796, 0.799 and 0.805. https://s11.postimg.org/l6c5en9ir/Screenshot_from_2016_10_11_09_04_12.pngBtw, I'm using this cgminer-gekko, instead of the one posted in this thread.

I just recently have seen a few COMPACS begin to surface on the net here and there. If anyone has 2-3 new units for sale, please contact me for an immediate sale! Thanks.
