I'm sure someone allready asked this question, but I don't know how to find the answer: Is there a way to show the time when a loan expires? I mean how do I know when exactly 1 day is over?

can someone answer this one?

on the lending section you can see all the loans currently active under the title "Borrowed funds used in a margin position"
Whenever one of them expires in less than one day it will show the exact amount of hours still left before expiring.
Starting from 23 hours and then 22 and so on until it goes to 1 hour.
You should therefore monitor carefully any loan expiring in 1 day or less.

I hope that helps

Hi All,

A API system is currently in testing and will go live soon (tm) Smiley

Inclusion in trading platform will probably take more time though

Geez, I go on a 12 day holiday and seems to be a major market shift in the lending rates.  Huge supply compared to demand.

https://bitfinex.com/?refcode=UInJLQ5KpA <-- leveraged trading of BTCUSD, LTCUSD and LTCBTC (long and short) - 10% discount on fees for the first 30 days with the refcode

It would be nice if the number of dollars that are available to put in a new loan offer was shown.
Now, you have to check the lendable balance and substract the sum of unfilled offers.  Its not the end of the world, but its unnecessary work that you have to do a lot --> room for improvement.

Agreed.  Annoying little niggle.

Hello all,

The total of unused and used borrowed funds will come tomorrow or the day after Smiley

Yes, there is a lot less demand of USD right now, and this will probably stay that way as long as the market is that calm and uncertain.

Xeverse,

I'm not sure of what you mean. But for your information, withdrawals of bitcoins is automatic (and as instant as bitcoin is) for users that activated OTP authentication (if the amount is not too large, and no I won't disclose the precise threshold). More information about withdrawal automation and how we handled the security around it can be found here: https://community.bitfinex.com/showthread.php/365-Introducing-automated-Bitcoins-withdrawals-(finally)

According to reports from the blog/forum the limit should be probably above 100 BTC, so probably enough for a LOT of people. Smiley

Seems there is little demand for insurance by the way so far - and it makes me wonder why the 50k USD amount is not growing by the day, as interest is paid daily after all.
Edit: scrap that, just saw 50004.19 USD available.

Edit2:

Yay, hopefully also including reports of internal exchange numbers to bitcoincharts.com! This would be a major promotion channel imho.

https://www.coinlend.org <-- automated lending at various exchanges.
https://www.bitfinex.com <-- Trade BTC for other currencies and vice versa.

Absolutely. But there has to be a clear distinction between internal and external reported trading volume.

Even if internal is only ~20-25% of all exchange volume on Bitfinex, they still would be volume wise already quite high up in bitcoincharts' roster. I see quite some potential in being an exchange platform while volatility is low and more of a speculation platform during higher volatility times.

Anyways, the situation with USD lending starts to get annoying... maybe higher leverages like 1:5 and 1:7.5 or even 1:10 can be considered?!

Do all account wallets get checked against the minimum margin requirement or just the trading one?

In other words, how much btcs would be possible to transfer into the exchange wallet
when there are an outstanding loan and a margin trading position present?

If it's not in "trading" it's not in "trading"

Which takes me to another question:
Why is this separtion needed? There should be a better solution.
If I make a margin trade with all me BTCs I can't set a "exchange stop" which safe my (real) BTCs. This is very unconvinient

The lender must be guaranteed in his loan by your collateral.
If you don't want to take risk you should only buy without using leverage.
It's a zero sum game, what you find inconvenient it's being called safety by your counterpart.
I wish I could find a way to give a free meal to everybody, but apparently there is none.

I hope that helps

I understand what you said, and it's logical.
I said "There must be another way".
"Real" BTC could be locked as long as it is required in a margin trade, so one could set a stop for the margin trade and set one for exchange a little lower.

MtGox bids are not in the book, while the asks are. Why is that?
