yeah, Tsitsipas won easily, but he is so unpredictable that i do not even consider him anymore for serious bets

on the other hand, Ruud seems like having a good form, he lost semi-final to Djokovic in Rome, having two balls for first set, and after lost it, lost the match conception, but now playing well again, did not know that he actually reached top 30 list, he could be a nice surprise in Hamburg and RG as well

I have also come to this when placing bets on Tsitsipas until we start to see him be more consistent in his matches. This is what lets him down, he has a great match but then he seems to let himself and the fans down in his next match just when we think he is finally coming good.

Right, he is very inconsistent and we really don't know, he seems to have some mental lapses as of late. He will be facing Cuevas next, we do hope though that he can get a win and go to the next round. But it won't be that easy because there's a lot of good players winning in this tournament.

Ruud, Bautista-Agut, Rublev and Fognini are going to be tough match for him.

Looking at the games today and I think I will start with small double:
Lajovic ML @1.9 - Lajovic is just more solid clay player then Khachanov and hopefully we will see another mediocre performance from Russian
Seppi +5.5 against Musseti @1.7 - Yes, we sow that Musseti is a great talent but placing him as 1.15 favorite against veteran like Seppi on clay seems like big slap to Seppi career, he had great matches against much better opponents that young Musseti and I hope he still has some gas left in the tank Smiley

Some other games I am looking at:
Altmaier 2:0 @1.8 - much better clay player than opponent
Martinez 2:0 @1.8 - much better clay player than opponent
Ruud ML against Fognini - this one will come 100% but I have no balls to play it since you never know with crazy Italian, he has enough talent to take this one easy if the stars align and he decides to play for it but unfortunately he will probably start making a bunch of unforced errors from the begging and gifting Ruud a victory in the process.

long story short, agree on both points
on the other hand, i do not think that Musseti will be a great player in the future, maybe to reach top 10, but i do not see him as no.1, or even top 3, something like Grigor Dimitrov, great talent, skills, but lack of focus on the game

There was some value in Seppi +5.5 games, but in the end Musetti won quite easily. You could be right about Musetti. He is a great talent, but misses some focus on the game. The same story with Kyrgios, enormous amount  of talent but no focus or dedication.

Ruud won on straight sets 6-3, 6-3.

@casperBGD - let's wait for Musseti to developed, his very young and we don't know, maybe he can become number in the future. He has the tools, he just need to refine and really concentrate and focus on the game.

@babygun - the Kyrgios case is very different though, he has the problem with the game itself. That's why he is a waste of talent. It's more on a mental thingy though, we don't know where all the anger come from.

I really hope the rising numbers of virus cases doesn't put a stop to the French Open as it looks like many European countries are now starting a second wave which is unfortunate.
Until now the second wave has not influenced the organizers' decision, the organizers believed enough in allowing spectators to attend matches at the French Open, from the articles I read around 1500/day in two main fields.
https://www.skysports.com/tennis/news/12110/12066233/french-open-2020-spectators-to-be-allowed-despite-increase-in-coronavirus-cases
The final decision has been made. Only 1000 spectators will be allowed each day and the amount of staff members will be reduced.
1000 spectators, it's very few. The stands will look empty.

I'd strongly disagree here - at least for now. Musetti is still 18 years old and he loses focus due to inexperience. Kyrgios is on a whole another level - he has serious problems with keeping the mental side of his game in control and one little thing can make him transform from a player ready to beat the best to a player who would lose against the ballboys.

I did not see these kind of issues with Musetti so far, he only lacks consistency. That comes with time and if he continues the way he's been progressing, I don't see it as an issue for him.

Also true, Kyrgios should need to work with some top mental coaches and maybe than he can really show the world his class. If you only look talent wise than I rate Kyrgrios higher than Thiem or Medvedev or Zverev.
But we all know that having talent is not enough to become the best in the world.

@Saint-loup I would consider this is a big win for the spectators, and I hope that the organisers will ensure those spectators will strictly follow social distancing norms. Furthermore a full packed stadium was never going to be possible, so even if the stands do look empty I yet feel that it’s a big win for the spectators who’ll be watching it from the stands.

But we all know that having talent is not enough to become the best in the world.

Kyrgios has talent for sure and amazing serve to help it along. I think it is too late take care of mental side of things for him, mostly because he doesn't want to change and I respect him for that. We need to have a bad boy in tennis as well. I agree with him on some points like when he says that other players are boring when giving post match interviews. For example, if you listen to Nadal after the match he won 6:1 6:0 he will say his opponent was great, it was a great battle and he managed to come on top today. There should be respect between players but I get sick of those "false credits".

I love betting on Kyrgios since he is always playing so much better against top players. If he plays against Nadal I take a handicap on him, if he plays against player outside top 50 I take handicap on that player. Made me so much money in the past, I guess that is the real reason I like him Smiley

Watching Rublev against Agut just now and Rublev has played first set very good. You rarely see Agut without answer for his opponent play. Hope for more contested match in the second set. I expect Rublev has to drop off a little.

Yes you're right it's better than nothing and for spectators it's a big win as you say. I'm curious to see what it's going to look like on Sunday though.
On TV it will sound a bit ridiculous IMO.

You could be right about Musetti. He is a great talent, but misses some focus on the game. The same story with Kyrgios, enormous amount  of talent but no focus or dedication.

Musetti has just burst onto the tennis scene and I agree with you he is just 18 years old and lacks experience but in time I think he will be a great player as we can see he has a lot of talent. As you said and as I have been saying on here for years now, Kyrgios mentality is what lets him down in matches as he can't keep it together and not sure if he will ever be able to control it.

So it will be Ruud vs Rublev and then Tsitsipas vs Garin in the semi-finals.

And here are the odds, I like the odds on Casper Ruud, what do you guys think?

I watched Rublev yesterday and he was very good against Agut and Ruud strikes me as a very similar player. Don't you think? Ruud is younger and in better form so maybe he can put more pressure on Rublev and Rublev is prone to breaking up when pushed hard. I can say good things about both players and it looks like really close match so those odds have some value for sure but I will probably skip it.

Good to see Tsitsipas hold his nerve after losing the second set, I thought oh no here we go again, he will lose the third set and get knocked out but to his credit he fought back and won. This is what we want to see from Tsitsipas if he is ever going to be a great player. In this tournament he has played well but Rublev will be a big test for him so lets see how he goes. I want to see Tsitsipas win as it can give him the confidence and momentum he needs heading into the French Open.

When I watched the match, I also thought that in the first set, he served for the set but Garin was able to break the serve and finally it came to 5-5 whether the events at the US Open would repeat itself but finally he won the last two games, down in the 2nd set because Garin played very well, but in the 3rd set Tsitsipas played better than the 2nd set and won the match.
In final against Rublev is definitely not an easy thing for Tsitsipas and H2H their meet is 2-2.

First round of the French Open has just started and the 11th seed Goffin is already out against another young talent Sinner. Didn't really expect this loss of Goffin.
Goffin is a good player but I don't think he will ever win a grand slam.

BIG WINNER!

Well once again Tsitsipas has lost in a big match which most expected him to win. He did fight back after going one set down but Rublev was just too good for Tsitsipas on the day and was able to keep control of the third set. Not sure how Tsitsipas will do in the French Open after just a one day break from the Hamburg final but we shall see.

It was another big let down for us fans of Tsitsipas. French Open will be much tougher for him and he will be one of the long shot. It's good though that he has reach the German finals, I thought that he will lost against Garin.

I glance at French Open, it seems that there are a lot of hard match already, 3-5 setter. Wawrinka won a 3 setter against Murray.

Cilic is out, and it was a routine for Thiem, he was a much better player today then before US Open, if i may say that
think that RG made exception to have Thiem and Djokovic in the same part of the draw, and they will be semi-final partners, cannot wait for that match, will be very interesting to see where is Thiem right now, he kicked-out Djokovic last semi-final, and now seems that he is better than last year, and Djokovic is not that good as last year
