Yeah, it's too bad that my boy lost early, but nothing to be ashamed of, he gives everything its that Coric dig deeper on his arsenal and Stefanos wasn't able to response, but it was a good match.
I did not watch the match but managed to cash something on it. I had first set handicap -1.5 on Coric because Coric always plays well in first set and then looses parts of his game as time goes on. I believed that match will be a tight first set (as it was) and then Tsitsi all the way. Croatian players are not in a good patch of form at the moment.

What do you guys think of A. Zverev?, I'm keeping a close eye on him in this tournament and it seems he is really doing good, much more relax than I've ever seen him (I do hope that I didn't jinx Alex here). Djokovic already leading two sets to nil and up 1-0 on the third set against Struff, I guess he will be through to the next round. Ćorić will be a big test for Stefanos but I know he can win. Zverev is a very good player and it is only a matter of time before he will win his first GS. Still, I think it's too early for him and that Djokovic is the biggest favorite of this tournament. Struff had no chance against him. For women, I like Osaka and Kerber. I still placed a small bet on Zverev to win the title. If he plays the final against Djokovic, he will the underdog but he might have a small chance of winning it. Odd at freebitco.in was @33, which is nice value! Kerber is also out!

De Minaur vs Khachanov is going on Minaur won first set very easily and I was expecting this is going to be good for him but suddenly in second set he lost his touch and now Khachanov is leading by 5 - 0 have no idea what wrong happen with him badly down hopefully fight back.
After down in the second and third sets, De Minaur finally won in the fourth set and also the fifth set. Good comeback from Alex, he will now be facing Pospisil next, who upset Bautista Agut. Good to see Serena defated Sloane Stephens and advance to the fourth round, at his age now She still plays well, She will be a formidable opponent for the favorites of other champions like N. Osaka.
Stephens Sloane is touted to be the 'heir' apparent to Serena when she won this tournament in 2017. But it seems Stephens has lost her touch. Yes, good to see Serena still chasing another US Open even at her age.
There's another controversies, some players are getting quarantine specially those who are in contact with Paire. Some of those players are still in the hunt for a title, singles/doubles, but organiser excluded them in fear of a spread so those players really felt bad about it.

Holy shit Novak Djokovic got disqualified from the US open for accidentally hitting a ball girl and it is really unfortunate as i was expecting him to win the entire tournament and one silly incident caused him the tournament considering the form he was in for a very long time, i seriously think that it was mistake and should not disqualify for making a mistake.

Odd at freebitco.in was @33, which is nice value! This looks tremendous value now (...) i seriously think that it was mistake and should not disqualify for making a mistake. Yes, it's a stupid rule, but it is what it is. No player would do that on purpose, but you have to be more careful then. He is not the first player to get disqualified for such incident.

When I read about it I thought he smashed the ball in anger and deserved the ban. After seeing the video that ban really sounds tough but rules are rules and they have to be followed. The ball hit the lady straight in the throat, talk about bad luck for both of them. On another day the lady would simply caught the ball with hand and nobody would talk about the situation.

Yeah it doesn't look all that bad when I saw the reply and was just bad luck for Djokovic but I still don't think he should of been defaulted from the US Open, maybe they could of taken a set off him even though it was in the first set. I just wonder if it wasn't the first set, would points or a set been taken off him instead because even though its not good what happened but defaulted is a bit too far in my opinion.

And Djokovic exiting changes the change of other top players left. Crazy 2020.

I agree, it was a bit harsh, it is not intentional, if it is then the law is fair. But Djokovic was just doing what regular tennis players, regardless of rank, because that's already in their subconscious. It is not even unsportmanlike conduct, not defending Djokovic, but he should have been given a code violation first.

It is not even unsportmanlike conduct, not defending Djokovic, but he should have been given a code violation first. The rule book leaves some room for interpretation actually: Q.PHYSICAL ABUSE
Players shall not at any time physically abuse any official, opponent, spectator or other person within the precincts of the tournament site.Violation of this Section shall subject a player to a fine up to$20,000 for each violation. In addition, if such violation occurs during a match (including the warm-up), the player shall be penalised in accordance with the Point Penalty Schedule hereinafter set forth. In circumstances that are flagrant and particularly injurious to the success of a tournament, or are singularly egregious, a single violation of this Section shall also constitute the Major Offence of “Aggravated Behaviour” and shall be subject to the additional penalties hereinafter set forth. For the purposes of this Rule, physical abuse is the unauthorised touching of an official, opponent, spectator or other person. Source: https://www.itftennis.com/media/2495/grand-slam-rulebook-2020-f.pdfThe problem is, that other players were disqualified for similar things (Shapovalov, Serena, Nalbandian), so it would be very weird to not dq Djokovic for it as well, i.e. give him some super star bonus. The incidents in the past set a line and now it's very difficult to lower the line again, though I would support it. Just give point/game/set penalty or whatever plus a huge fine. It's a pity that an already suffering tournament has to disqualify the biggest player still in the draw for this, but otoh it makes the outcome much more interesting now

It was a really bad call to kick Đoković out. Shapovalov and Nalbandian did much worse things and their intent was clear, Đoković kicked a ball at medium speed backwards without even looking. Yes, he did slam one into the wall a few points before and he should have controlled himself better, but the punishment was too high.
I am neutral to the guy so this is not defending him - it's defending the game. We should know the difference between doing something accidentally and on purpose and we should act accordingly.

Yo say Shapovalov, Serena, Nalbandian were disqualified. I say Nalbadian and Serena did much worse then Djoko, don't remember Shapovalov offense. Furthermore, Bedene did something similar 10 days ago in New York and he was not disqualified. Federer did something similar in AO many years ago without penalty as well. So we can see there is plenty of room for interpretation.

While it was unintended, the rules are quite clear and as indicated by others, there were similar incidents in the past and all these players were also disqualified. If it would be an unknown top 100 player who would have done this, nobody would say the rule is unfair and the officials wouldn't discuss 10 minutes to disqualify him. Almost all tennisexperts and other tennis player say that the disqualification is the right decision. A bit lame of Djokovic to also not attend the press conference afterwards.

After what happened to Djokovic, many of his fans are asking a lot of questions. Did the judges follow too strict the rules because in some similar cases they decided otherwise? Does Djokovic really have hostile treatment at U.S. tournaments? Will this disqualification and also cancellation of Wimbledon prevent Djokovic from overcoming Federer and Nadal by the number of GS wins?

Come on! All fellow tennis players say that disqualification was correct, so no they didn't follow too strict the rules. If there is anyone to blame, it is Djokovic itself. Even if he overtakes the record of Federer, he will never become the GOAT. Too bad that Goffin is out, he had a chance against Shapovalov and would also have a good chance against Carreno Busta the next round.

Let's move on with the Djokovic disqualification. I would say that Thiem and Medvedev now has bigger chances, since Djokovic has exited. Zverev and Coric fighting it out, good match so far, in the fourth set, Coric needs to win in order to stay alive and force a 5th set. But Zverev leading 4-3, and leading the 8th game, 40-15 with Coric serving.

Yes, it looks like Coric has nothing to offer in the 4th set as Zverev steam rolled on him. I'm interested on the other set of QF that is going to be played tomorrow. Medvedev vs Rublev Thiem vs De Minaur Who do you guys think will win on that match? I will be giving Medvedev and Thiem advantage here simply because they have the experience, specially Thiem against De Minaur. For Medvedev, it will be a tough one, but he will prevail in 4 sets.
