Nadal just won roland garros in straight sets against djokovic.
He retains his title of being the king of clay. Smiley
I expected more of a fight from novak but I guess he wasn't in rhythm since the beginning of the match taking a 6-0 beating from rafa. Embarrassed

I only could see a summary of the match, but Nadal looked almost unbeatable. Djokovic was maybe not in top form, quite a lot of unforced errors in the 1st and 2nd set, but I think we can agree that Nadal deserved to win. With his win, he has now won 20 grand slams and equals the record of Federer.

it was actually not that bad in longer points, but there was a lot of easy mistakes at the beginning of points from Novak, and i think that was the deal breaker in first two sets, and in third Rafa started to miss some shots as well, but it was a lot to expect that Novak had hopes after first two sets

congrats to Rafa, this is obviously his tournament, could he get more in following years, that is the real question?

Rafa and Roger both on 20 Grand Slams now, Rafa will almost certainly claim the top spot soon and hold it from there.
What a tennis era we live in - shame it's coming to an end.

Not much to be said regarding the final itself - too many unforced errors from Đoković for anything else but a heavy loss. But Nadal was on top of his game since the 1st round.

This is his 13th Roland Garros victory and a 100th win in Paris.

I'm going to bold this sentence so it carves into everybody's memory:

Nadal's Roland Garros record is 100-2.

What to say? A true champion.

Nadal's Roland Garros record is 100-2.
That stats actually say it all. There was another interesting fact that Nadal never lost a match in RG when he won first set and he played a lot of them. Not surprising when you know he had only two loses in total but another bit of stats to depress you when you are playing against him and find yourself a set down Wink

I watched most of the match today and Djokovic deserved a little bit better score, there was a lot of games that got to deuce and almost all of them went to Nadal side. That being said Nadal controlled the match perfectly and never looked like he will give Djoko any chance to mount a comeback. Congrats to the champion.

There is no doubt that Djokovic wasn't 100% losing this badly in a grand slam final. But we all know how dominant Nadal is at the French Open and now he equals Federer on 20 grand slam titles in the year 2020 as I suspected would happen. Nadal's record at the French Open is simply amazing only losing 2 times, this will never happen again well not in our lifetime. Congrats Nadal!

Exactly, but to Djokovic is really sports, he didn't make any excuses in his lost to Nadal. 6-0 first set? Damn, I can't remember what are the odds, was thinking of putting 6-3 beat on Nadal, luckily I didn't pull the trigger but just stay on the ML for Nadal, so just a couple of bucks winnings.

And in this modern era, we might not see that someone breaking that record, and it will continue no doubt about that and I would say that is one record that is going hard to break, or even get close to it. Djokovic though will remain at the #1 position.

yeah, and when you are down 0:6 in first set, and you did not play that bad (with four gems go to 40:40, and you had three break points for yourself) than the situation is going down, even for Djokovic, which is kind a player that can survive a lot in a match
nevertheless, great play by Nadal, just one as his fans expected, i presume

Djokovic said after the game that he did not find his game and that Nadal was fantastic, which proves that he cannot be number one for a long time, if Nadal continues like this, he will get it. The king of clay showed yesterday what a player he is, with the first set 6: 0, I am sincerely glad only because Djokovic won everything with such a result until he came across Tsitsipas and Nadal and showed him that he is not that good.

You should understand where Djokovic is coming from, Lol, he is facing the king of clay courts so what do you expect? 6-0? That say's it all, although it was close in the third set and I thought it will be extended, but Nadal close it with fashion, and thanks to him, it was an easy choice to bet on him and I would say it was really a good odds. But I'm sure Djokovic will be number one though as he has enough points to keep that position.

That's 13th French Open title for Nadal among last 16. It's nothing new for him. Iga Swiatek is the surprising new talent for this grand slam. Clay court and other courts (Grass, Hard and Carpet) are a bit different for players. How good she is on other courts is still to be seen. She have stated that Nadal is her idol as a tennis player. We could expect these two to win again next year if they maintain their fitness.

it is a rather bold statement to put Nadal and Iga Swiatek in the same sentence, as they both would win something
Iga just started, it is a big surprise, and as far as things are going in tennis, she could be kicked-out in the first round next season, saying that i hope that she will continue to play good tennis, but Nadal proved himself in last two decades as "king of clay" and it is just not suitable to compare him to Iga, no matter how good she is

I agree with you. Swiatek is a talent, but the top at the Women side is broad and I expect that we will see a lot of different Grand Slam champions every year. The only one we maybe could win a couple of Grand Slams is Osaka.
On Men side: as long as Nadal is fit, he will always be the man to beat at Roland Garros.

And besides that, the women side is totally unpredictable, we might see someone rising the ranks wins a Grand Slam, but after that she goes on the slump. So it's not that consistent, we have seen this many times before, like Osaka, after her good run, she change coach then her performance plummet.

So it remains to be since for Iga, she maybe good in court, but there are other surfaces that she might find herself in a difficult situations are other ladies are better than her. So she needs a lot of improvement. But the thing is, time is on her side, she is still young and can really developed, let's see how it goes.

The odds for Nadal winning the first set 6-0 would of been huge as no one would of expected this to happen even though Nadal is the king on the clay. Djokovic is the world number 1 for a reason and to see him lose this badly made him look like a player ranked outside the top 100 that's how good Nadal was on the day.

Yeah he still holds the number 1 rank and will most likely finish the year ranked number 1 as Djokovic is around 1400 points clear at the top ahead of Nadal. Maybe we will see Nadal drop and Thiem work his way up to second depending on what tournaments we see in the next 2 months. Well we know there will be no tennis played in China so we shall see as now the virus is getting out of control in Europe again.

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

In my opinion, Djokovic lost to Nadal in this year French open final doesnt by any chance make him feel or look like a player which was ranked outside the top 100 because Djokovic was not in good health condition to begin with and despite his health predicament he still make it to the final of the game which i believe even make him the champion even by not winning the final game.
Meanwhile, hes still leading by winning 29 games against Nadal while Nadal only won 27 in total.

I love tennis and bet tennis a lot, I do pretty well at it sometimes, but this time I stupidly logged into Cloudbet using a USA IP from USA and they froze my deposits of $15,000 worth of bitcoin cash (67 BCH) and this was really tough for me.

I want to join you guys in this thread and leave tips and exchange information, I also have an account on tennisinsight.com where I make picks.

If you can please support me in getting my deposits back I made to Cloudbet when betting tennis, they froze my funds and are not returning the deposit.  Please support me getting the deposits back by adding to the community flag on their account and also leaving negative trust.

you can read about it here
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5277995.80

consider adding negative flag until cloudbet releases the $15,000 they have frozen due to me being a USA player (67BCH).  I realize I broke terms of service, I really want my deposits back that I sent them (67BCH)

Thank you for your support and i look forward to picking tennis with you soon.  It is my favorite hobby (I teach tennis , play tennis, and bet tennis, and tennis fan Smiley)

Nadal's Roland Garros record is 100-2.

What to say? A true champion.

His record at the French is phenomenal and likely will never be equalled. Winning for 13 separate years is basically like winning every year for most players' whole careers.
But - although he dismantled Djokovic, it only looks inevitable in hindsight. Going into the final, Djokovic had won every match he'd played this year (ignoring the default at the US). The last time he played Nadal at the French (2015), Nadal lost. This combined with the Autumn conditions made it appear to be quite an even contest. Of course we know it didn't turn out that way in the end.

Djokovic was not in good health condition to begin with and despite his health predicament he still make it to the final of the game which i believe even make him the champion even by not winning the final game.
I don't believe this. Djokovic has a history whenever he starts getting into trouble of suffering from imaginary injuries. It already happened in this tournament against Carreno Busta.
I don't think making it to the final with imaginary injuries makes someone a champion; winning the final is what makes them the champion.

I am fully aware about his health status when he confronted Carreno Busta but you totally misunderstand what I mean when I said Djokovic is a winner even without him winning the final game and what I mean is that he proved to be competent of his number one ranking. Besides, he showed his love for the game is not limited because some tennis player with his health situation will definitely not make it to the final.
I respect that about him which is the reason why i consider him as a winner.
