^^ I don't know, not sure if we can compare though, the impact of the war though. Anyhow, I might agree that it's too hash to ban those players. I even read that Russians and Ukrainian women's players who used to be "friends" started to ignore each other in the Madrid Open. I guess everyone is really taking it hard, this war doesn't really bring out anything even in sports.

This is what I was talking about the other day, about how women's tennis is so unpredictable. In Madrid, we are now through to the last 16... so in theory most matches should be a player seeded 1-8 vs a player seeded 9-16... except out of the top 8 seeds, only the #8 seed is left, everyone else got knocked out already (alright, Swiatek withdrew before the tournament started, but that's the exception). There's no-one (other than Swiatek) that I'd feel confident betting on.

To be honest, that's one reason I usually stay away from the women's side, because as you have said it's unpredictable.

I look at who beat Osaka and she is Toribes Tormo, maybe she has the advantage of the weather. Nevertheless it is still an upset because I expect Osaka to at least move into the next round and chances are, if she is going to bow out of the tournament, it should be against rank opponent.

I don't really consider those surprises. Don't get me wrong if I knew underdogs would win I would made a bet on them and cash out heaps of money but both those matches were very suspect to me so I skipped them.

Sakari has terible H2H with Kasatkina, they played 4 times and she lost all 4 matches. Something in the Kasatkina game gives her big problems.
Osaka actually lost last clay encounter against Toribes Tormo with 6:0 6:3 and this match was played in her home country, red flag for me.
Colins and Muguruza were bigger surprises for me but again clay is not Muguruza favorite surface, very strange for Spanish players who probably grew up on it and Colins lost to Andrescu. Andrescu is just outside top 100 at the moment but I remember her from some past matched and she is worth much more. Not really sure what happened to her so that she is so low down the ranking.

For me the surprise od the tournament so far, one that killed my otherwise winning ticket, was Sonego. He lost against WC player who can barely stand on clay judging on the past results. And to make it worse he lost in straight sets.

Sakkari was a bit of a surprise for me, I wasn't aware of her terrible H2H against her opponent. Quite a few of the other seed defeats aren't that surprising, but I think the fact that it's not surprising to see so many go out early does demonstrate my point that women's tennis is less predictable, in Madrid we reached the last 16 and the top seed left in the draw was #8... if that happened on the men's side it would be astonishing, on the women's side, not particularly.

In a world with true ideals and not driven by greed it could be something really possible, but unfortunately it is really unthinkable that it will happen because we are living in our individualistic reality driven by the incessant search for profit at the expense of ideals and mutual respect...

That seems crazy that Russian and Ukraine players are ignoring each other,
I would expect that maybe some Russian players actually support what
Russia is doing therefors creating tensions between players, there is nothing
good coming from this war, nothing.

DeMinaur v Sinner shouls be a cracker - De Minaur is on a roll ATM and Sinner
pulled a win out out of the fire against Paul after looking like he was going to
lose in 2 sets.

Yes, the match did vary in quality quite a lot, both players fluctuating. I thought when Raducanu nearly went a double break down in the final set at 15-40, but pulled it back and then went 4-3 up, that she would win... but then her level dropped a bit and her opponent came back.

Thats class and just goes to show Andy is a realist and still has the wit! He will be looking
forward to this though, its a kind of benchmark for him to be able to measure up against the #1
and like always what he lacks in mobility he still retains the skills to create some difficulty for Djokovic
but its hard to see him winning this one as Djokovic is ramping up his levels now in preparation
for RG.

did not watched the roof, but everything is slower in Spain
Fokina is down, so he will not face Djokovic in Madrid, but Nadal could face him in semi-final, which could be more than interesting to watch (Nadal has to clear Alcaraz before that, and that also sound very interesting)

did not put any bets today, but Nadal @1.3 against Kecmanovic seems as high value after the match

I believe that deep down Murray will be hoping to stun Djokovic, because the latter has had a tough year and is currently woefully out of form hence a perfect opportunity for Murray to capitalise on.

Murray's big problem in recent times is that he can still pull off wins against top players, but his body can't sustain it over the course of a tournament. Many times we've seen him take a major scalp, and then lose meekly to a worse player in the next round. Murray in a one-off match can still be a tough proposition, but Murray a few matches deep into a tournament, when his body has been taking punishment from playing multiple matches in a few days, is usually less of a problem.

I will certainly be hoping Murray wins this, but it seems a huge ask, even if Djokovic is somewhat out of form/fitness.

The cynic in me thinks Djokovic got the match started early because its known that
Andy likes later games because he feels better. That would actuly be a Djokovic stunt!

Yes, I was about to see what is the update on this match as this could have happened in 2 hours already. And surprised to hear the news that Andy Murray withdraw.

So now it will be Rublev vs Evans at center court. Evans leading 3-1 but Rublev is going to served.

Rublev won in the first set but it was very close, tie break. Now on the second set and the score is 4-4.

We also have the Norrie vs Alcaraz later, another great match but I reckon that Alcaraz is going to win.

Rublev vs Evans is about as close as it gets, just about every games is going to deuce, and there are break points all over the place. I do get the feeling that Rublev may edge it though, similar to the way he edged past Draper last time around.

And yes I think Alacaraz will win, Norrie is good, but Alcaraz is just beating everyone he comes up against at the moment.

and Nadal had two match points in second set, missed that and played long third set with Goffin, where there was 11:9 in tie break, with four match points for Goffin, Nadal had it two times, break advantage in second set and two mini breaks in tie break, but lost all, how un-typical for him, Alcaraz would be a favorite against him

Both had 3 setter matches and were given tough enough ones at that. The favourite is
Alcaraz...but we can never underestimate Nadal's ability to "find a way" which of course
wont last forever.

Odds on Rollbit are Nadal 1.97 - Alcaraz 1.81

I think I will go with Alcaraz, his drop shot plays for example could make the
difference?
