Yea Sinner is already broken in the 3rd, its 1-3 there to Tsitsipas, I cannot see
this going past 3 sets either.

I definitely wouldnt write off Nadal for the final. He doesnt have 20 Grand Slams
for nothing and as they say great champions always find a way even with the odds
against them, he might not be 100% fit but skills and experience have to play
a big part still.

Experience does play a huge role but also the physical situation also plays a big part in terms of Tennis. He may be able to clutch out pressure situations with the help of his experience, but in terms of pace, he will fall behind other younger players.

And also if we talk about endurance, he will also be behind other players. So I think it's a 50-50 chance.

I don't really think that nadal is the clear favorite in his semifinal against berrettini. I mean he just came back from an injury, we should not forget that. I saw his match against shapovalov and i have to say that nadal Was pretty lucky that he won that match. He was complete exhausted in the last 2 Sets and i think he really can thank shapovalov that he made so many easy and totally unneccesary return errors in the last Set otherwise i am pretty sure that nadal would have lost that match.
If he is able to get a quick 2-0 lead in Sets against berrettini too then i think nadal will win. If not it will be very hard for him.

I have high hopes for Shapovalov to win that match especially when he can make the match to 5 sets, not thinking that Nadal still has enough energy for this match but unfortunately Shapovalov is too insistent with his service so it becomes a lot of mistakes, that's the weakness of young players often wrong strategy in dealing with experienced players like Nadal.

Sinner vs Tsitsipas, Tsitsipas 2 sets ahead I think it's only going to last 3 sets, his game was very solid this time and Sinner still looked nervous even after 2 sets.

The match had ended and Nadal won the match. Shapovalov did good but it was not enough against the experience Nadal. He took every advantage he could take from Shapovalov's mistakes and in the last set, he won 6-3

And Tsitsipas got a clean sweep against Sinner as he won 3 straight sets and eventually the game. He won 6-3, 6-4, 6-2. A great show match from Tsitsipas. Looking forward to his more matches.

can't say that I would sleep longer in any case, since I get up early, but it is good to know that some people could afford more sleep

Well I have a child, but today was wife turn to take her to daycare on the way to her work No job at the moment but I have interview for one a couple of hours later, so morning just for myself. And still can't say that I got much sleep since I watched Collins until 3 in the morning, have to earn money somewhere.

Good match between Medvedev vs Felix AA, no break yet, score 5-5. And by the looks of the match, this could be another 5 setter. Unless either one really exploded. But I'm not seeing that, and just for fun, I have Felix-AA @4.30 ML.

Wow, F. Auger-Aliassime won the first set mate, 7-6, was really very close match indeed.
Odds though still favors Medvedev at around 1.60 and Felix at 2.30.
So I guess it's a good odds you got early, you can still go and bet for Felix because the odds are still very good. So good luck with that.

Man but Medvedev just made it as hard as possible on himself, didn't he? For a moment 3:4 on final set, thought Aliassime would get the tiebreak and smash his way on but Russian too good, then showed him how to do it. Almost forced another epic late on, but lost his composure already.

Tsitsi v Medvedev it is! I can't wait!

Anyway, didn't read until recently about Special Ks on-field antics. I mean, I do think there's a reason why some players are friends with others, but surely opponents know Aussies can be quite "cruel" with the support, but I'd love getting the crowd against me for no reason. Moral high ground right?

Haha, well it's on topic since it relates to our ability to watch sports. I have a full-time "domestic engineering" job, from or at home or on the road 18 hours a day since 2016 so the pandemic way of life IS my way of life haha.

On regular days I am up very early, before 6 am, but chores and cooking and then I have to then commute once or twice throughout the day to send/fetch a kid to school that's unfortunately quite far away, to be home in time to make food and clean etc. So I'm really only free to start work by 830-930 once back home. I've been freelancing all these years so I manage my work in short spouts of hours in between the entire day.

I actually post on this forum about 25% from my phone while on bus/train? I never really calculate but I do post 1/2/3 daily from my phone.

The past 2 weeks though, we have all been on lockdown and personal situation and when I get precious days like these I stay up late and wake up late;) So no need to wake up too early, as the day becomes so gruelling once everyone is up!

It's interesting how the last few years 2017-18 onwards have really seen a lot of newcomers break through. We were aware that the Federer/Nadal/Djokovic era was ending on the men's side, and we can see that a bit here.

This is maybe a little counterintuitive from 2020 onwards, where the tour has been hampered by the pandemic, so you'd maybe think it's harder for new players to break through in slams as they just haven't gained the experience of going deep in a big tournament. But of course the last women's US Open really showed that it's possible.

There are a lot of young talents coming up (besides Sinner, you have Alcaraz, Tsitsipas,...) that have a bright future but we need to wait and see how all these talents develop and what they can achieve. I think at this moment Medvedev and Thiem stand the furthest and have already achieved the most.

There are a lot of young talents coming up (besides Sinner, you have Alcaraz, Tsitsipas,...) that have a bright future but we need to wait and see how all these talents develop and what they can achieve. I think at this moment Medvedev and Thiem stand the furthest and have already achieved the most.

For me the best potencial of them all is the spanish player Alcaraz. His style and how hood he is playing i see him in top 5 in the next 2-3 years honestly. I think he can make it really fast into the top 10 as well if he wins a few tournaments.

On the part of Medvedev, there was some impressiveness and low energy bordering on apathy in the first two sets. Auger-Aliassim, on the contrary, played well in the first two sets and, most importantly, held his serve quite confidently, almost not giving Medvedev a chance to make a break. But this could not go on indefinitely and Medvedev began to wake up and show the game, thanks to which he is the second racket of the world and the main contender to displace Djokovic from the first place in the ranking. The main watershed occurred in the third set, when Medvedev made a mini-break on the tiebreak and after closing the roof on the court finished the case by successfully winning the tiebreak. Let Medvedev still continued to walk on the edge of the abyss and even got a match point from an opponent on his serve, but the contours of that game were already visible due to which Medvedev could win the match. Evidence of this is the successful and confident playing of break balls on his serve, when they periodically arose. Auger-Aliassim gave chances in the fourth and fifth sets by giving his serve once and Medvedev was able to take advantage of this thanks to his high class.

Well if Medvedev will start very slow like in the Felix match, then it good be a good five setter.

But if started hot and win at least one of the two sets, then I doubt that this will be extended to five set.

Yeah, one advantage is that Tsitsipas has more rest than Medvedev but we all know that most high level tennis players are not affected by this burn out from previous match. And as much as I love my boy Tsitsipas, with the way Medvedev comes back against Felix AA, I will go with Medvedev here.

This semi-final is a repeat of last year where Tsitsipas lost 3 straight sets, maybe Medvedev was exhausted from the 5 sets match but I don't think it will greatly affect his performance, and what Medvedev has but Tsitsipas not is the strong mentality that was evident in yesterday's match, not many players can turn things around When it's left behind and also face match point. I would rather see Berrettini vs Medvedev in the final.

Even though Medvedev was quite lucky to get through against Felix I believe the match against Tsitsipas will be a much more uneven match.
Tsitsipas has already overachieved so far in AO given his current condition and now he is going up against the big favorite. I believe the Felix match was more a off day for Medvedev and he is ready to hit back hard tomorrow. For me its not many factors that point in the direction of Tsitsipas in this game. Before AO kicked off the outright odds on the winner was Medvedev @2.50 vs Tsitsipas @40. I think we get a 3-0 Medvedev in this one.

The match I look the most forward to is Nadal vs Berrettini. I think this will be a very tight match with a lot of points and even games. Berrettini been serving extremely well at times so I give him a small advantage in this match, but he also struggled a lot against both Alcatraz and Monflis after being 2-0 up against both so he need to keep his focus on top here against Nadal. A couple of weeks ago I gave Nadal next to zero chance to get to the final, but Nadal been solid and made it into the semis surprisingly easy. My guess is a 5-setter with Berrettini coming out as the winner in the end.
