Yes I know, but he thinks he is not an A/V.

A few nice matches in play ATM,
Kwon v Fucsovics - I have Marton to win this one

Rinderknech v Bublik - Bublik in trouble I think in the 3rd set.

van de Zandschulp v Cilic - 3-6 in the first set and I'm half thinking of going with
van de Zandschulp

Some very interesting matches on later, Murray v Bautista Agut, Half thinking
on backing Andy @ 2.13 ??

Bautista Agut didn't give Andy Murray a chance, shutting him down in 2 sets, 6-0, 6-1, not sure if you have put bet on Andy here.

van de Zandschulp vs Cilic - Cilic won the first and so is the second, 7-5. No chance for van de Zandschulp to recover in this match as Cilic just needed one break.

It's going on quarter finals now, and obviously, getting harder to pick.

Luckily I didnt put a wager on either Murray or van de Zandschulp. Bautista Agut
really blew Andy away in that match, I thought it would be a close one, but not.

The quarter finals are indeed hard to call, to me all 8 players are of equal ability.
I will go with Shapovalov against Rinderknech anyway, not sure about the others though:

Basilashvili v Fucsovics ::: really cant make my mind up, Fucsovics is favourite at 1.6

Davidovich Fokina v Bautista Agut ::: i'm half thinking of going with Bautista Agut

Khachanov v Čilić ::: its hard to bet against Khachanov here but Cilic is unpredictable

Same here, I thought that Andy might have a good chance to at least score an upset win.

But to everyone's surprised, it seems that the didn't have any during that game because it's not even close. And as what we have discussing before, Andy is really way off and no longer can compete with this young generation of players.

The difference between Andy Murray and Bautista agut is just a year's difference. The match is completely one sided. 6-0, 6-1 which is a big blow. This was his worst defeat since 2014. Roger Federer recorded similar victory of 6-0, 6-1 against Andy Murray during the ATP finals held in London, 2014.

Speaking of Bautista-Agut, another huge win against Fokina 6-1, 6-1, it looks like he is destroying everyone big time.

He will be facing Khachanov next, who beat Cilic in three sets, losing the first one and then winning the last 2 sets, so it's a comeback win for him.

And Bautista Agut is favourite 1.45 today against Khachanov 2.75
in todays semi final. Both are nice odds but which way to go? I'm thinking B.A
he seems to be in top form at this tournament and yea those lase two matches
have been easy wins so he should be super fresh coming into this semi.

The other semi is just as tricky: Rinderknech 1.79 v 2.03 Basilashvili

Anyone watching what is happening over at Delray Beach?
Cameron Norrie is facing Korda in one of the Quarter Finals today, Korda 1.80 is
favourite and I havent heard much of him so far in 2022. I go with a wager on
Norrie @ 2.03

^^ It was not a very easy game for Bautista Agut as he has to come from behind to win against Karen and move into the finals. He lost the first set and then comes back,  2-6, 6-3, 7-5 score.

So he will be facing  Basilashvili in the finals. Basilashvili beats Rinderknech in the other semis in straight sets. I thought that Rinderknech will have a good chance to win this game.

And with the finals set, I will go with Baustista Agut at Over 21.5.

Agut is obviously the favorite on the finals, after what he has done on his last 3 match. Specially on how he beat Khachanov on the semis, it was a good match and hopefully the finals will be the same.

And with the finals set, I will go with Baustista Agut at Over 21.5.

It could go 3 sets, hard to predict, maybe Agut could also demolished Basilashvili in 2 hard sets and still cover that spread.

I agree with you both, Bautista Agut this week has performed really well and
seems to have been able to win his matches easy enough bar yesterdays match which
was a close one. I'll be backing him today again.

I'm happy with yesterdays bet on Norrie to beat Korda at Delray Beach, he is through
to the quarter finals against Paul, dont know if I'm going to bet on that one

I also had Dimitrov to beat Millman.....which didnt happen.

I agree with you both, Bautista Agut this week has performed really well and
seems to have been able to win his matches easy enough bar yesterdays match which
was a close one. I'll be backing him today again.

And Bautista Agut winning the Doha Open, another masterful performance by Agut as he wins in two sets. I thought that this will go Over, but Baustista Agut continue is good showing in this tournament. Although he was broken early in the first and second set, he was able to come back and break even. Probably might be good to look at him in the next tournament that he enters as he might pull some big upset.

Same here, I thought that this could be at least a 3 setter, but with the way that Bautista Agut is demolishing his opponents, no surprised of the results. He only dropped 1 set the whole tournament if I'm not mistaken.

So this is a big win for him, and could bolster his confidence on the next tournament, so we will see how he will fair in fast specially in this kind of surface.

Ah yes, great win by Bautista Agut in two sets which was consistent to most
if his wins bar one in Doha this year. I will be interesting to see if
he can carry this super form into the next tournament.

In Delray Beach Norrie got past Paul to get into the Final against Opelka, looks
like seeded players 1 and 2 face off against other. It also looks like Opelka is carrying
some good form into this final after winning Dallas last week but Norrie 1.78 is
still favoirite (Opelka 2.05) I think I'll stick with Norrie.

I haven't followed this tournament to be honest, but Norrie as favorite with that kind of odds? I think ML would be great bet already.

For the recent Doha tournament, I did see some highlights an I will say that Bautista Agut has improved a lot.

In the Marseille, France Men Singles FAA again vs Rublev in the finals. FAA is not the favorite, but Rublev has a decent odds of 2.38 ML.

More tennis news:

''Jelena Ostapenko secured her first hard-court title since 2019 with a commanding victory over Veronika Kudermetova at the Dubai Tennis Championships.
The former French Open champion won 6-0 6-4 in just over an hour against the Russian world number 31.''

A very good start to the year for Ostapenko and the first title after a long time. Is this an announcement of her big return to the top of women’s tennis?
Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/60447331

''
World number one Novak Djokovic says he plans to compete at Paris 2024 as he bids to add Olympic gold to his 20 Grand Slam titles.''

''“An Olympic medal, especially gold, is always a big wish,” Djokovic, who will be 36 at the time of the Paris Games, told Radio Television of Serbia.
I rewound my match with Zverev in Tokyo many times, trying to figure out what went wrong," he said. "I played superbly up to that point, but I did feel I was running on fumes, both mentally and physically.”

Do you think that Djokovic will be at the highest tennis level in three years and fight for gold?
Or he missed his last chance for Olympic gold in Tokyo last year?

Anything can happen over the course of 1 year or less but 2+ years
is another thing. If he can stay injury free he will still be a major force but there
are a lot of players developing their game and 2+ years of development is huge,
so I will go with a 50/50 chance.

A very good start to the year for Ostapenko and the first title after a long time. Is this an announcement of her big return to the top of women’s tennis?
I watched almost all her matches this week and she was really on fire. Had a handicap on her in every match she was not favorite and ML on the ones she was. All bets passed easy.

She is maybe the biggest hitter in women's tennis and she has all the usual pros and cons associated with those players. When momentum is on her side every ball clips the line and she can win sets 6:0 against almost all opponents. If it isn't her day, those same shots will go out and she will lose sets 6:0 against mediocre players. No plan B in her game and that is why I believe top 10 is her maximum. To get to number 1 she will need to have much more consistency and I don't think that word can be placed in same sentence with Ostapenko Smiley

Alcaraz is set as big favorite against Schwartzman. I feel like this is unfair to guy like Schwartzman and I believe he has enough quality and more than enough experience to make big problems for young Spaniard. I am taking +5.5 on Schwartzman and him to take a set on another ticket. I am a bit afraid for the bet since this match is firmly in Alcaraz hands and he will be the one to either win it or loose it.

The chances weren't 50-50. I'm sure he'll loss, more and more young players are making their entry. He's a legend, no doubt in it. With such a long break and getting on track isn't an easy thing. Even now the players who are around the age of 35 is ruling the tennis world. This won't work for a long, because those are days which were much on tricks and techniques along with stamina. Nowadays the practice and the body strength has a major role as young players give hard competence.

What is actually the reason that Nadal refers the tournament in Mexico over the one in Dubai? Would have liked Nadal to finally meet Djokovic again after all the drama. Interesting enough though that Djokovic announced he might refuse to get vaccinated in the future and rather skip on tournaments and potentially lose titles because of that. The guy is crazy. He can't be so paranoid about the vaccination damn it.

I think the question is more why Djokovic is playing in Dubai? I guess he can't go to Mexico cause of covid pass.

Tournament in Mexico is much stronger, Medvedev, Zverev and Nadal all playing there. Just Djokovic missing.

What is actually the reason that Nadal refers the tournament in Mexico over the one in Dubai?
~snip

it is probably sponsors
Nadal is playing in Mexico, since that is Spanish speaking country, and sponsors probably like it that way, while Djokovic is better suited on Middle East and Far East (he often have sponsors from Japan, Uniqlo for a long time)
nevertheless, Djokovic will vouch for Nadal, since Medvedev could be first if win in Acapulco Smiley, will be interesting to see his performance in Dubai after all the drama

~snip
