You can use this:
http://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions

It gives a good idea.

Except for people using Tor or something else to stay anonymous. I'd wager some of the larger transactions 10+BTC may be like that, given what you can buy with BTC. This previous statement is not fact, it is just my personal opinion.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I'm curious how many other people like me were folding@home or doing other "free" things with their GPUs or CPUs and now mine. I merely watch, hoard, and exchange my merged mined NMC for BTC. I was already paying for the electricity to fold, so for me anything at all is a bonus.

That being said, I am interested in selling, in person, BTC soon. Just to get a taste of the fact that these BTC do have some real world money value.

How many Bitcoiners live within a short drive of another Bitcoiner? I don't.

Not counting those I introduced to bitcoin myself?
We need a Bitcoiner population density map...

Cool. Thanks!  There is someone else in my small city relating transactions. Cool...I have no idea who though!

Because you're too young.
Perhaps. I can't say I remember much of the 70's, but I recall the 80's fondly Smiley

I don't think anyone *really* remembers the 70's.  Wink

I'm not sure where "breaker" comes into it, but "necrobumping" refers to posting in very old threads and bringing them to the top again. It is generally unnecessary; a new topic should be started with a link to the old one.

There's been a lot of necro-posting over the last week and it's starting to get annoying.  A lot of other messageboards have the software set to lock threads after a certain time since the last post was made.  Others have a warning that tells you it's an old thread when you go to post to it (similar to our "there have been new replies" warning").

I agree that starting a new thread with a link to the old one is the best option.  It stops annoying necro-posts and also limits "this has been discussed before" responses by showing that the poster is at least aware of the old thread.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

This is very informative...should have a mini orientation with tips like that...or should I put this reply in another thread...buried in meta to guarantee no one reads it Smiley

There is indeed huge potential for bitcoins, it can potentially become an international alternative currency with same volume use of any of the other currency's and when or if that happened early adopters would indeed be doing very well, but so would the whole world at that point as they would no longer be having their wealth stolen.

If you put the market cap of Apple into bitcoins I think each bitcoin would be worth $550,000.00 roughly.

On a more conservative level lets just say bitcoin will eventually hit a market cap of 1 billion thats $100+ per coin.

Is 50BTC considered a small amount to you guys? If bitcoin was to really launch I predict 50btc to be a huge amount. Some simple math:
21,000,000 / 50 (block) = 420,000. Shit loads more than 420,000 in westernized world Smiley

Very good!

"Combo Breaker, sometimes seen as C-C-C-C-Combo Breaker!, is a phrase usually used on message boards to break a chain of posts. On 4chan, the phrase is used to disrupt a popular pastime known as a Combo, which involves posting a series of partially cropped images to bring out the full picture in a given thread."

It's a blend between the two.

+1 Internets if you can name the video game where "Combo Breaker!" originated.

I got in during the peak of the bubble last year and then exited and then reentered again as I found out bitcoin was going UP again.

Care to donate a few to poor pitiful me to get me up to speed? I will render services in exchange as well. Smiley

Every time this thread reawakens, it seems to be a good sign that a short-term rally has topped.
