Based on that logic (quite reasonable), there is no upper limit to bitcoin's value in fiat terms. Smiley

So... you are saying that all US gubmint has to do to avoid USD collapse and losing of the "exorbitant privilege" is to post once a day in this thread?

No.  They only need to post every few months.  Maybe next in January.

The world just isn't going to be the same and we have been blessed as the pioneers.

I haven't been blessed. It was through my foresight that I saw bitcoin for how valuable it was. No man helped me along, and many discouraged me.

yeah little to no support, no one, got my first 70btc at 10$... the only support i needed was max keiser and brotherjohnf both time to time talking about bitcoin very highly ...

im sure a TON of people who, even starting to buy right now for the first time, are still making the leap mostly by themselves...

transitioning to everyday life does anyone feel this way, as i do, about nearly everything that interests me and so on... hopefully not forever but its really heavy living the life of a lone wolf

I hear that.
I'm getting old now. Imagine trying to find out about strange lone wolf kinds of things back before the Internet, before cable TV, before DVD and VHS. That was some work. Used book stores, used record stores, late night AM radio shows, sending money orders to PO boxes, reading foreign newspapers at the library, traveling to other cities to check out their book stores, record stores and libraries.
And on and on.

Remember: this is not a done deal.

The best laid schemes of mice and men
Often go awry.

Wisdom of the ages.

That being said, it sure looks promising.

I recommend diversification.  Some gold and silver, some cash, no debt, have at least several weeks (and preferably several months) food and supplies on hand, and, when all else is in order, some Bitcoin.

Gold and Bitcoin cannot be eaten.  You may be able to buy food in exchange for them, but only if someone is willing to sell.

You have to put things in context. Back then, things were changing really fast. I remember these coin things that I made with my laptop and I thought were worthless actually had a non-zero value...it was surprising.

Don't forget, early on, every body (not many) had more coins than they knew what to do with...because there was nothing to do with them...Gavin started giving them away in a recycling faucet...you request 5 BTC play with it...send it back when you're done...it was a trivial amount of bitcoin for the time...

Going from a value of 0 to not 0 was a huge "% increase". It seemed every month the price went up...then every week...then every day...the effect on one's brain of this process was truly remarkable to experience...it was (for me) unbelievable...but I believe it now...Bitcoin is here to stay.
