The screen you see when the wallet first loads - https://iota.readme.io/docs/creating-a-new-account

Ah, you mean the big black login button?
Linking the main UI dev to the UI tutorial -> lol

Yes, the big black login button. When I start the wallet the black login button is momentarily replaced by a red "Connection Refused" error message, then reverts back to the black login button, and all nodes are "null". Frustrating thing is for the last 3 days everything was working fine, just had to reboot for another reason, and since then nothing I try gets me connected again.

I'm not sure which side is refusing to connect, my PC or the IOTA network

So, after it is back to black all is working fine? It's normal on some "slower" pc's that IRI is starting a bit late, I guess, which is why you get the connection refused message (it means the API is not yet ready to be called).

http://foundation.iotatoken.com/ Foundation: 125.7460 Ti // 139 Ti ~90% of goal

http://bigdeal.iotatoken.com/     Big deal: 3.6194 Ti // 83 Ti ~4% of goal

Guys, is it really that hard to donate 10% of your Iota? If both projects pass, the rest of your Iota will likely be worth so so much more. Just take a moment to step back and look at the big picture.
Your donation will be greatly appreciated! And is really important for the future success of Iota!

Thanks!

P.s. I donated 20% of all my Iotas already. Now its the turn of those that haven't donated yet.

@All should read below
Here is what my take on the "Big deal" is. We have trusted David with the ICO money, which now already returned us x20 and more profit. We had no guarantee that the new technology of IOTA will work. But we Trusted David (and cfb) that they deliver there Promis.
Many of us donated a good amount to the foundation, why? Be course we Trust David that he will lead the foundation and spends the money wisely.

Now, that we so far trusted him and made good profits while doing so, why shouldn't we trust him that the "big deal" is really good for Iota? Sadly we must accept that he can't say names as when dealing with big companies, it is normally there requirement that such deals stay out of the public.
So far we have no reason not trusting David, so I trust him with the "Big deal" now as well. IF the "Big deal" turns out to be a lie or what ever, then I will re consider trusting David with further deals.

I’ll ask again: Why don’t put the frozen child_harold account into the foundation? If the most of the buyers confirm that they will donate their “bought” IOTA, where’s the problem?

What’s up @:

Cizzen

CryptoMrM

Donate or not?

Scroll up - one reason it's hard to donate is that a fair number of participants are having trouble making transactions work. I haven't donated yet because I'm still dealing with wallet issues. Hopefully I'll have them all worked out by the 25th. Cfb has been very supportive so I'm not complaining - just pointing out that it's not just a matter of lazy or selfish hodlers.

Iota nice idea, but still so bad marketing. Im never hear about iota

A good idea? It's revolutionary. Lol.
It's not officially released yet. If the foundation is funded, it'll be made more known.

Try looking into comparisons of a Tangle vs blockchain.

why do we need a foundation for the big deal?

If any company is interested, it can and should invest itself and not the community - do I miss something here?!

any answers?

At this moment, it is not so much about that those companies have seen the potentials in iota as it is about that iota team has seen the potentials of those companies in helping to promote iota in the real world and industry.
