2024 NBA Season

Honestly did not expected Lakers to start this bad. I get the warriors loss, but this latest Portland loss is a big bells are ringing type of deal. They were not ready for the season? Did they not really worked hard on figuring out how they could get better?

It's obvious that they were bad last year, you can't just roll the dice again and hope for a better result, they needed to change some things, even if not in the roster (which they have a bit) but also with the plays. Look at Spurs, they have one of the worst teams in the league and yet they started 2-1, one of the wins coming from Sixers. That's the difference between a good coach and a bad coach.

I mean what was really expected.  They haven't changed from last year.  They lack a true point guard.  I know you have lebron but you need someone that can set the table for everyone including Bron.  And their bench depth is terrible.  I expect vet injuries which will only deepen the losses.  This team is looking at easily under .500 and missing the playoffs again.  It will be the lebron scoring title and passing Kareem this year and that's about it.

I would agree though, I mean the Westbrook is still with the Lakers and so the problem is still there. They got some players, but it is just some average point guard like Pat. Lebron is on the way to past Kareem all time high scoring and maybe some records as well.

The whole management of the Lakers from the front office to the players should took the blame here. It's just bad chemistry and even if they have Lebron and AD, they can't find the success they have since the bubble.

They even form good relationship to each other and maybe their locker room is so toxic that's why they cannot blend well together. Maybe they need to trade their guys while they still can because if they perform so bad the rest of the series then provably no team will agree on their trade offers because they think this roosters sucks and they will just get a problem if they decide to trade with them.

It's not like the Celtics are amazing. They are good but so are the Chicago Bulls.  The Chicago Bulls may not be a championship caliber squad, but few teams are.  They are right there though, and if they could some how pull off a trade for a mega-star, they've got a really attractive future.  That's what sucks though, really solid team but no mega-star (lavine nor DeRozan are mega-stars) you've just got no shot.

Regardless, coming off that loss I just had a feeling for them.

Celtics are incredible in their style of play, no doubt about that, they're just one random team that plays well. The Chicago bulls have a very good set of team squad and there's also spectacular teamwork among the teammates. Matters evolving the team not having a mega-star is productively not good for them as at least, one to two mega-stars would have been present in the team presently. However the team is trying their best to suit in the pattern of the superior teams.

Yeah pels are deep.  Book has it going this game and don't blame him got under klays skin.  It was a tight game until klay got booted then the Suns blew it open.  Smart move honestly.  Can't wait for the next one.  Don't know if there will be a more fun matchup to watch than these 2 squaring up.  Memphis mid year shoukd be a good one too.  This game didn't feel like an October game.  Seasons gonna be good.

Booker was interviewed at the end of the game. The same answer from every player "it's being competitive" they are not going to honestly answer those questions on what really happened between the two of them.

That's not a wise decision made by Luka to take a winning shot way far, he still has a lot of time and he could've come closer and taken it to overtime.
I think they have a higher chance to win it there while the Pelicans are fatigued and lack 2 best players.

Yeah, and Booker has been giving it out and at the same time, receiving the end of it. Remember him and Luka trash talking during their series last year? When you thought that Booker will be the one of top, Luka raises his game and then they were upset that time.

So I agree that this is the competitive spirit of this players and for sure Klay Thompson won't forget this one. I'm starting to believed that the Pelicans could be a real contender this season specially the way they played and with Zion back in their future games, they could be in a run here.

I think that's just the right play because there's only few seconds left, well, Doncic as their star player should take the last shot, it's just unfortunate that it failed. Anyway, there's no games already that Luka failed to make the last shot, the last one was against the Suns.

That was a rough landing there but JC was really get that block from behind way too clean. Well, can't say it was just a lucky thing but who knows? JC has more minutes now compared the last season and I think it befits on him. For Zion, I think his minutes will be restricted considering his last game with Jazz is somewhat worrisome.

That was an incredible block made by JC and unlucky for Zion his landing would probably have hurt him a lot. Too bad again for Zion, he's really prone to injury.
He's got that hip injury that would make his worth low again and not just bad for him but also for the team. The team has waited for him for this season and very likely that he may be in the same situation of waiting again. A lot of money invested on him but if he's getting injury and prone to it, his value will be lower after his contract and much likely that only few teams would take him or worse, he'll be waived.

There is a zero percent chance that Zion gets waived. This injury was due to a hard foul that he had no control of and it was a bad landing. Meaning he’s probably in some pain and will have a hell of a bruise but he’ll be as good as new in a week. A shame the Pelicans have a nationally televised game tomorrow on TNT. I know Zion would’ve wanted to go crazy on TV to let everyone know he’s back. Maybe he’ll play through the pain but I doubt the Pelican staff will take any chances.

To be fair, there was no hard foul, it was a clean block from behind. Jordan Clarkson really timed Zion's jump and eventually caught all ball but unfortunately, he fell very hard, back first and he is on pain in the floor.

Yes, the Pels shouldn't allow Zion to play, just take a couple of breaks and let the back heal in time. It's just the start and we don't like to see him sideline again because of injuries.

Yes, I agree with that, anyone who saw the video would easily tell that it was a clean block. Being the main alpha, Luka did try to win the game knowing that there's no  time left, it's a decision that needed to make
and it just so happen that it didn't succeed.

For me, it's a good shot knowing how Luka plays he is capable of making that kind of shot.
Good one for the Pelicans and they really deserve the win, looking on the lineup earlier
and how Mav's stars are playing, I already conclude that there's no way Pelicans will win

It almost looks like the playoffs in the first half of the game and Reggie Miller was thinking the same. It's so intense that the referees have to call technical fouls on both teams and even have to eject Klay Thompson to regulate the game.
Klay made a big mistake there; he should've stopped as that discussion with Booker will not go anywhere. Steve Kerr cannot blame anyone from that loss as he also fueled the frustration that became contagious to everyone. Even Wiggins missed two simple lay ups that rarely happens.

The warriors will probably take revenge when they play home and host the Suns, I will wait for that schedule and of course, I will bet on the Warriors for my revenge too. Last season, I also said at the start of the season that teams like Wizards, Cavaliers and Bulls might surprise the whole league because of how they performed well at the start, but as the season goes on, you can see that these 3 teams experienced struggles and injuries along the way causing them to either not enter the playoffs or at the bottom of the top 8.

It's too early to say that your favorite team will not play well this season and vice versa. Say that at the mid-season because at that time, we might see a clearer picture on which teams will be at the top 8 and which are not. Pelicans though is a good team, and they have a good roster this season. As for the Bulls, I don't expect too much with them after what happened to them last season and they didn't have that many trades last off-season.

Though the NBA season has just started, Im pretty sure the GSW is something to look forward to cause a problem in the western conference. The east is still the same, looks like the Celtics and Bucks are obviously the teams that will gonna be at the top this year. Nevertheless, so far so good and Ja Morant still healthy doing his thing, the best entertainer as ever. The only Disastrous team this year is the Lakers because they made a bad decision when they acquired Westbrook but cannot get rid of him after he failed to be the best player like how he used to be in OKC.
