Crazy that the Denver Nuggets fired their head coach Michael Malone right before the playoffs. We’ll have to see if something happened to cause this or not. Seems like bad timing and after leading the Nuggets to what was nearly a dynasty… I think this sort of thing pretty much eliminates them from championship contention.

NBA is the new English Premier League, first it was Taylor Jenkins, now it's Michael Malone, I really do not where all this dismissal are coming from right with playoffs just around the corner. Nature of these calls is making it feels more like there is an outcry from the star/franchise players of these teams, or could losing 4 games in a row be enough reason behind Nuggets decision, I don't think so.

You forgot that the Kings also fired Mike Brown this season as well, so add him as well.

Firing their GM Calvin Booth is understandable because he made questionable trades, and gave ridiculous contracts to bench players like Zeke Nnaji and Reggie Jackson, but firing your head coach just because your team is on a 4-game losing streak after what he did to the team is just simply unacceptable. I mean I'm not a Nuggets fan, but we know how he develop the Nuggets ever since he became the head coach. We know how he developed an playstyle that's focused on Jokic. He's the head coach of the Nuggets when they won their first title, and they just fired him a few games before the playoff starts.

When I saw the Grizzlies firing Jenkins, that's already a ridiculous one, but seeing this one makes me think that there might be a head coach that will get fired on the final game of the regular season. Anyway, it is what it is, and I believe that both Jenkins and Malone will be hired as a coach on a new team on the next season. Let's just wait on which team it will be.

They have a good record, both of this coaches, so it wouldn't be surprised if they can got another position as a head coach, or even an assistant coach for that matter. And it was reported that it's due to pay as they didn't agree on the contract extension?

How about Nico though? Still with the Mavs? 

In any case, it was the owners decision so it's hard to argue against them. It's their franchise and their fans can only hope that they make the right decision on firing the best coach of Nuggets history in Malone.

There is a crime happening in Phoenix right now. The Suns are getting destroyed by the Golden State Warriors. This is embarrassing. I don’t even know where the Suns go from here. They sacrificed their future for this…

Even if they win there's no changes will happen as they remain on their current standing. Also it seems there's nothing to expect from them this season as Durant seems really want to get out in Suns after this season. Lots of people think earlier of this conference that they became a title contender but they didn't meet those expectation.

Their future now is uncertain and everything will be questionable to them next season. Suns is struggling on no trade clause deal of Beal since it make them struggle to do good action especially on roster changes next season.

Reaching a consensus on who is the best defensive player isn't really based on stats, while that too matters a lot, but it is about who is making defense as their main job and do a good job of it. Draymond Green is not winning this year (if he does) because he is doing amazing, while he is doing alright, he would only win, because of the fact that nobody was outstanding this season so far at all.

I have always hated him, he is a dirty player who has no place in this league and always considered Klay was the wrong one to leave, Draymond should have left, but he does the dirty job and he does the passing and starting the plays, so he was kept. But that doesn't change the fact that nobody played great defensively this year. Maybe Wemby is right, but he got injured.

Luka got tossed out of the Lakers game in a loss too. Not a great day for the Southwest teams.

A lot of people reacted to what happened in Thunder vs Lakers today, especially the 2 technical fouls on Luka, and after that, a technical foul too for Jarred Vanderbilt.
In social media, there's a meme I can see about the official referees for today's matches because they hated them for some calls.

I can agree that there are some bad calls and missed calls (both teams) from the officials, even the commentator noticed it.

Western Conference is on heat, damn man, we have 6 teams in a two games gap, just insane, i dont remember something like this from a long time, Denver who was super sure into the playoff now after this 4 loses in a row is in danger of fall into the play - in. The Western Conference is really more interesting to follow this regular season than the Eastern Conference. To be honest, I don't remember it ever happening before when teams from 4th to 7th place in the Western Conference standings had identical results at the end of the season.

Doncic has been playing with quite low FG percentages recently even if he scores around 30 points. I would just like to see Doncic keeping up a higher percentage on his shots at the same time. He is worse than the last 2 years for now. But I don't doubt him for the future anyway. I believe he will play a big role in Lakers to become champions one day. Maybe this season or in the upcoming years.

I really like Jokic when it comes to FG. His all statistics are really impressive actually. I guess he would be the MVP of regular season as well.

Luka returning to Dallas tonight on ESPN. That might be must watch basketball if you love the NBA. I’m glad that it looks like AD and Luka will both be playing. I wish it was being broadcast on TNT instead of ESPN but you can always get what you want. But if you try sometimes… You’ll get what you need.

We’ll see. I have an opposite take though. I don’t think either team needs to win and their goal is most likely to make sure nobody gets injured. Luka will want to put on a show but maybe his teammates will make it their mission to not let that happen. We’ll have to see what the game plan is, but I don’t think it will be super competitive. Maybe between LeBron and AD.

That Denver team is really in danger of falling behind to play in the play-in tournament after firing their head coach. There seems to be a chaos within the team now as Jokic looks to be upset with what's happening to their organization right now.
Too many drama happening with the Western Conference right now lol. The Lakers were also upset after that unnecessary ejection against the OKC when the game was so close that it has a potential to get into an overtime. It was only then ruined by the refs. Too bad, we were get robbed of a good game.

It was supposed to be Wemby, but because of the injury halfway through the season, someone else will get the DPOY. Jaren Jackson Jr. of the Memphis Grizzlies and Evan Mobley of the Cleveland Cavaliers were on the top spot after Wemby's injury, but now it is Draymond Green who is getting a lot of attraction, and he is actually the odds favorite to win it.

Still, I think the voters (sportscasters) will look at the standings of the teams, and I actually want Luguentz Dort to win this time. That dude is playing great on both ends of the floor and is actually one of the reasons why OKC Thunder is on the top spot. The difference will be on the rebounding section when it comes to stats since Draymond has moved in his average than Dort. Steals, on the other hand, are almost identical.

Im shocked that this happened. He was a coach for 10 years and they fired him out of nowhere. He had a good place in the league and right before the playoffs. I think they should have waited at least until the end of the season and then make changes in the coaching staff

That is so true, he is the best coach on the Nuggets history, we would forget on how he made the Nuggets a championship team two years ago? And I still remember Jamal Murray's after that, because he thought that coach Malone will trade him after he has his injuries. On the contrary, they keep him and then they won that first ring. And I think we have discussed it already in the other community that there is no job security or tenure to any NBA coaches as they can be fired anytime.

Absolutely nuts. Booth and Malone never liked each other, rarely spoke, and talked behind each other's backs.
With the team struggling on the court, Nuggets ownership decided to fire both. Insane.

But the owner doesn't want to wait and made this bold decision to fire Malone and Booth all together to removed the problems. The last thing I remembered though is that Malone has been calling on his players or criticizing them for not watching films and called them "full of s**t".

And he says that he is just brutally honest.

There are also other good defenders but they're names aren't echoing much. We've seen Wemby to be the best but yeah, that's the problem for him.

He became injured and that makes him out of the award.

Many wouldn't like to see Draymond get that DPOY but we'll see, it's always justifiable with this award to see who will handle it this season.

But unfortunately you cannot run the organization smoothly if there are troubles happening to their officials. That's why the owner choose fire them even if they know that Malone is great coach and bring the very first championship in their team.

To bad for Nuggets since the timing is not good and hopefully we will not see them struggling on possible new system installed by their new coach.

Seems the owner just want to get rid of drama and they want their team to focus on winning their games. This also shows that they are not just playing around but try to win a championship. Curious to know if Nuggets will not struggle after this unfortunate situation happened to their team.

If the system changes with their new head coach, that's also going to affect the gameplay that they have. But we all think that it's still going to rotate at most times still with Jokic. Just because of some quarrel and misunderstanding, they'd end up with this decision. It's too bad for the entire team but not for the management as they're satisfied already with Malone's service.

Exactly my feeling. Was waiting for this game for weeks and it's just as good as expected. The tribute was nice and the tears heartbreaking. Still such a shame how dirty they did him!! Needless to say, I am glad to see how well he is playing today, he should torch them big time. 31 point til now, it would be perfect if he could drop a career high but that's quite steep since his ath is 73 points.

I searched on the net for the reason behind firing coach Malone and i see one of those is an internal conflict between Malone and GM Calvin Booth regarding roster construction as Malone wanted to field veteran players while Booth wanted to focus on young talents but sad to see both were leaving the Nuggets franchise.

I've seen that moment when he's got those tears. He's still have the heart for the team but what's important is the present. At least Luka got to see that he's still appreciated by the staff and all the fans that have come along with his journey. We're already on the last quarter of the game, quite a lead for the Lakers but the Mavs are catching up. 10:26 remaining to the time and 83-82, smaller lead for the Lakers. Those missed free throws of Luka should have add up but there are so many turn overs.
