master nodes can also run one at the time ,meaning is you have a wallet with 10K PIVX thats a master node if you can supply diff port  # on start it will collect and run as separate process.. never tried on same machine and you might exhaust your machine but see if you can pull it off...  that is launch multiple processes passing diff config file to pivxd (looking up a parameter but it will be like bitcoin param that can take config path) obviously you will have sep config (pivx.conf) for each master node.. that you want to run (on same machine) but I am sure your CPU will spike.. but do let know how it goes.. let me see if I can find param you can find to pivxd

would be from a command line: ./pivxd -(some para) path to config ie ~/.pivxd-mn1/pivx.conf

never tried same machine wold be better if you have more than one (in which case a machine become a master node 1:1_, but then see the guide if you have more than one machine..

a ok so from the command line ./pivxd --conf=<path to a config file> ie same machine (lol disclaimer never tried it but do let know! saves on hosting providers fees lol)

./pivxd --conf ~/pivx-1/pivx.conf (wallet 1 in this folder with 10K PIVX)
./pivxd --conf ~/pivx-2/pivx.conf (wallet 2 in this folder with 10K PIVX)
./pivxd --conf ~/pivx-3/pivx.conf (wallet 3 in this folder with 10K PIVX)

but your Mac or Windows might go 100% CPU usage but hey!

another point is if you can afford > 1K $ coins you can afford a hosting fee.. but then you really need to consult a guide as God forbid you give coins to a hosting providers...
