First time I listened about bitcoin was in the end of 2013 when price was too high and media had deal with but after the crash I thought it was a bubble. Next was some months ago where I learned some things when I was participating in a meetup and I decided to give it a try. After that I registered to forum, I tried to earn some satoshis from faucets and once I used a hyip ponzi scheme but I was quite lucky and I did not lose any money. Now I am amazed with the quickness of the currency evolves and its effects globally and I feel like I was blind and I now I see for first time.

It makes his one-liner post look constructive so he does that. It annoys me too. My experience when I first started bitcoin is fun, eventhough I am still confused on how it works I still enjoyed knowing and learning how to use it.
In almost everything in life, the beginning is the hardest. There are some topics about bitcoin that still confuse me too but those are mostly just technical stuffs. Trust me, you wouldn't learn every single thing about bitcoins. My advice to you is that you learn the basics first. And then read some description about different fields of bitcoin like mining, trading, etc. And then learn them one by one. After that, pick one of those fields and then focus on that. You don't have to master all of them, just one of them is enough for you to have decent profits.

My experiences when I just started bitcoin are not so good! I was scammed a few times when I'm starting on it. There are lots of scam sites everywhere. Then I stop using bitcoin for a few months. During that time, I did some research and studies about it to avoid being scammed again.

I think mostly bitcoin user ever tried earning bitcoin thru faucet, like me too personally, I think faucet is good as started for understanding about how transaction works without spending cost, but not worth for earning. And mostly bitcoin user ever got scammed by kind of bitcoin service which have ponzi scheme, I also but not money, it's my time. I have been ever scammed too, by kind of exchange services, wallet. Fortunately not by ponzi scheme, because I'm always skeptical to investment system.

I would like to know what experiences did you had when you first started with Bitcoins. As for me, I had many that I would like to share with you.
First I was very naive. I came here from the "get rich quick crowd". When I first installed Bitcoin Core, I thought I will get money there automatically, and I just have to sit back and become rich. I was very naive. I started with faucets, and done a few, but the faucets shown their payouts in mBTC, and I didn't know any better so I thought those were BTC's. Back then you could get 50,000 to 100,000 satoshi / hour from faucets , and they have displayed that in mBTC, so 100k satoshi = 1 mBTC, and I thought that was BTC. So i thought I was getting 1 BTC / hour, and then the price was 1000$. So I thought I was making 1000$/ hour. I used to do faucets for 3-4 hours, and made over 0.1 BTC, and I thought I had 100 BTC or 100,000$. I was so happy that I bought a champagne to celebrate. What an idiot of me. I really thought I made 100,000$. Then I saw that the payment was not coming, and went to check out the faucet, to see what the fuck was going on. I checked my address, it was correctly put. I have waited 1 week, and then I was really nervous, I wanted my 100,000$. Then I went to check that faucet, and the website was down. It turned out to be a scam faucet. 3-4 hours of writing CAPTCHAS for nothing. It's not just that I was fooled into believing that 100 mBTC was actually 100 BTC, but I didn't even got the 0.1 BTC that I worked hard for. So my first experience was that I got scammed. And then I got scammed later too, by some fuckhead altcoin scammer, and other times. So my experience with Bitcoin was not that good.

Well it was April 2014 when I created this account, and way back then I was very skeptical of what's going to happen, but I also wanted to learn how it works so bad, so I registered into bitcointalk then it was asking me to pay 0.00008752 btc so I though "this shit site is scamming the hell out of me". Welp, I played with a few faucets up until I got the required amount to register here. The rest is history; I understood how it works and why many people really like the concept of it. From then on, I started allocating a portion of my allowance every week to buy btc and keep it.

My first experience in mining bitcoins is i just only earn 1k to 5k satoshi a day just in the faucet and i really tired because it is very slow to earn bitcoins and you need to wait every 30minutes in faucet and the price of bitcoins is very low but now i can earn 1million satoshi a daw.

At the beginning, I was using faucets for earning satoshis. I played some games which give you a few bitcoins after hard efforts. I used PTC websites. Solve captcha and earn money, survey and quest websites. Now I am earning my money with the trade.

From what I can read here, it seems, that most of us had some negative experience when we firts met bitcoin - scams, regrets, lost money... but still, we are here. ? It's nice to see than even after all those fails and slaps, we still believe in that damned coin. ?
It's mostly because it wasn't bitcoin's fault that we got scammed or lost our money by losing our private key or something. Bitcoin is just the currency that we're using and all of these are our fault. After you got scammed, the world continued revolving, other bitcoin users continue what they were doing. In other words, you getting scammed doesn't matter in the bitcoin world at all. They'll just say that it's normal. All these scams doesn't affect bitcoins. It just sort of give bitcoin a bad name/reputation. Of course it is mostly about a human factor - about us. But I can say I'm still quite surprised, that bitcoin's popularity still grows, because first, it is hard topic to understand, it takes a lot of time to get into the problematics. And second, after all the problems (scams etc.), people still want to give their attention to the project, they still believe in bitcoin.. So there must be something really strong on it. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Posted From bitcointalk.org Android App

that was sad experience. so have you found a way to not being scammed anymore? well, I myself first heard about bitcoin in 2014 from my friend, but I didn't believe about online earning before because I have seen so many online liers. but when I saw my friend got profit and when I needed money, I asked him to tell me about bitcoin more. and then I joined this forum first for more details in the end of 2014. and then I got many lessons from this forum.

I doubt its credibility when i first knew it,i just ignore someone telling me that its really existing. That proves me when i saw him get his income and it was totally amazing.I was encourage by then, since i have nothing to do then i really want a job even just a smaller income.I finally convince and i found it very interesting. For now im just enjoying my job,it gives me a reason how to value my time management.Hopefully,i'm with this for a long period of time.

Same used to happen with me. When i first joined bitcoin i knew nothing else then claiming small amounts of satoshi from faucets and my daily income was like 30k satoshi or something which i used to consider a lot even though the price was really low at that time, but as you said now i earn around 0.04 btc a week and i still feel i'm earning less.

Faucets are just made for newbies to help them get started into a specific cryptocurrency. While you cannot expect to earn a living out of it, it serves as a great learn about how cryptocurrencies work, as well as as earning "free" money for safekeeping in the long term. If you manage to save your faucet earnings into a paper wallet like I do, then you can expect to earn some profit as BTC price rises over time. As for ponzis, I have been scammed to many times by using services such as Bitcoin doublers, and cloud mining like cloudminr.io. At that time, I was not very knowledgeable about Bitcoin, and always fell for these schemes. If I knew about this earlier, then I would've saved a lot of money. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
