PS: this is the last time for anyone. any inquire CAN NOT let you to get your Avalon any faster but cost me at lest 1% everyday sleeping time.  here is a man who lack of sleep for 2 months. Angry

You have the "problem" of having too many orders. Don't be greedy and hire someone short term to help with the secretarial work, it will pay off massively and you will sleep better.

You won't have a shortage of work any time soon.

On the expectation I will receive a unit soon after making an order, I will order. Right now it's a gamble with difficulty shooting to infinity and other ASIC makers possibly ramping up production.

Don't waste the opportunity to ship faster, because this market won't last forever.
Yes, now the "idle day" of one avalon cost of $300. Enough to pay for the work of the Secretary, does it not?  Tongue

P.S. Sorry, over 350$  Cool

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

That's 4 minutes of lost sleep for every answer.  How about for the sake of your health you answer everyone's question at once.  When will all the batch 1 orders be shipped?

Ngzhang,

What about shipping via EMS to Russia?
If you shipped via DHL we will have a lot of issues with our customs  Cry
Yifu mentioned he is aware of this problem.

via EMS
EMS, may deliver to Russia up to two or three weeks. Tracking info may be very handy to make process faster.

How the hell does it make the process faster?

I say Screw the tracking numbers and focus on getting work done. ngzhang has better things to worry about then some stupid tracking number. Focus on updating drivers. Cleaning up code. Finding out why where is 1% stales on the Avalon systems. Work on development for tuning?

They dont want to hire anyone to take care of paperwork. Leave it alone. They have stated they are a small company and going to stay that way. If you need constant hand holding or updates this is not the place to order your ASIC.

Avalon is still the only company to have sent out Asics to its customers. Just be happy you had an order in. Many other people are not so lucky.

Having the tracking number, I can know what day it's coming, and take the day off from work so I can be here to sign for it (DHL told me that it will require a signature).  Otherwise they would leave a nondelivery notice and I would have to wait until the next day for them to try again (and take that day off from work on short notice).

Or worse, they might leave the notices at my neighbors' house day after day, and I would never see them.  I have had that happen with DHL before.  Fortunately I had the tracking number that time so I could see this happening, and I called them and told them which house was mine.

You don't believe, what you can see in Russia... Parcel can be forgotten at customs or on any sorting hub, until you make a call.

Right. Tracking numbers are very important, and they were promised. Furthermore, if there is any mistake, the sooner the tracking number is provided, the sooner mistakes can be corrected.

Lacking sleep for 2 months is not good.  You can buy back your sleep for not too much money, and do better business at the same time.

Unless you've paid for specific day delivery, tracking numbers sometimes just give you access to inaccurate information.  Until a package is at "onboard with driver" stage (which usually means it will be delivered within a few hours), you generally only know the latest date by which the package will be delivered.  I've had so many attempted deliveries before the estimated date shown on the tracking info that I sometimes think this is a deliberate strategy to increase revenue via redelivery fees.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

Hiring one person temporarily to handle shipping and paper work is not making a company larger. People pre-paid for all these units and I'm almost %100 positive that the owner has made a profit here. Hire someone that needs a job to handle all the customer relations stuff and stop complaining about no sleep.

Would be interesting to know where the bottleneck is - but I guess we will never know.
However if assembly & ship out is the problem and they have enough PCB's and ASIC's lying around I would solder mine together myself, seriously.

Without knowing the yields and without any testing? that's asking for a defective unit without the right for a refund (since you solder it yourself).

I think, rather than waiting around for delivery dates that have not only passed, but that Avalon said they had shipped, people are more interested in ways to get the > $2,400 a week you can make at current difficulty and $45/BTC with 67GH/s ...
So soldering it together yourself might even be a reasonable option Cheesy
That of course wont last ... and next week it will be something like $2,100 or less a week for 11 to 13 days, then drop again ... and again ... etc
(I also suggest the 11 days might even be an over estimate ... and the $ are of course based on $45/BTC which will change ...)

Edit: lol - OK I should check what I'm typing ... fixed all those number above ...
(I wrote the 'month' numbers not the 'week' numbers Tongue)

I agree, they could hire a secretary or two and the parts that people complain about (legitimately) would over a week be completely resolved.

Hire some temp workers for a month for the cost of one Avalon.
