Suzuki out, Kawasaki and BMW in...

There are so many comments, bro, but unfortunately building a prototype motorbike is not as easy as typing in the comments column. It takes money and a long time, you can see KTM and Aprilia

So in conclusion it is impossible to see Kawasaki or BMW enter MotoGP in place of Suzuki if they really leave. Source: gpcornercom

Mercedes is hiding they did a thing in the gray area of the regulation
I've not seen any suggestion that Mercedes have broken the rules, what is the illegal (or grey area) thing that they're doing?

Max won, and Redbull was stronger overall.

Good results for Mercedes but they are using a grey area of the new rules, if they will be ok others team will copy it.

The track after all was not so bad, overtakes were possibile.

I'm still not sure what you're alluding to. I assume I'm missing something, but I've not seen anything about Mercedes breaking or bending the rules. What is it they're doing?

Anyway, I don't think it was a good result for Merc after the promise they showed on Friday. I'd certainly agree that RB had the strongest package here, and a Max win was almost inevitable... although Leclerc probably needs to get his elbows out a bit and fight even if the other car is faster.

A really well deserved victory for Max that he architect-ed right in the beginning of the race by overtaking Sainz as I think that was the move that made him win the race.I say so because if Sainz would have been ahead of Verstappen in the first turn he would be playing the role of a slow down to Verstappen before Verstappen would have overtaken him thus giving time to Leclerc to go away. The second sector was the one which gave the victory to Redbull as their top speed was the best one during this race.

The news that Suzuki will leave the MotoGP World Championship at the end of 2022 has made a number of riders worried about his current position.
Alex Rins is believed to be looking for a new team to replace Suzuki. The man from Spain is reportedly one of Aprilia's favorite drivers.

If this news becomes reality, Vinales' career in MotoGP could be over. Vinales came to MotoGP in 2015 after being pulled over by Suzuki.
Interestingly, when Vinales left Suzuki in 2017, Rins, who was then a young racer, was chosen to replace him. Now, it is Rins who has a great opportunity to replace Vinales at Aprilia.

Aprilia will most likely soon make a contract proposal for Rins who is looking for a new team. In addition to his profile, Rivola will also offer a lower salary than what Vinales is currently receiving, which is around 2 million euros per year.

This savings is believed to be able to make Aprilia able to meet the demands for a salary increase proposed by Aleix Espargaro.
If the offer has been submitted and Rins agrees, mainly willing to accept the challenge of changing the engine from an inline-four cylinder to a V4, Vinales will certainly be eliminated. Source: Motorsport.com & gpnews.ig

Honestly that take off at the start of the race was one of the main reasons why Max won, that was such a crucial and important thing. If Sainz stayed in front, he could have defended Max as much as he possibly could, even a 5 second situation would have seen Charles win easily and not be bothered, that 5 seconds becomes such a big role in decisions and unless you make a strategy mistake, you end up winning almost all the time, even against cars that are faster.

I am guessing that Max will win this year as well if nothing unexpected happens, sure Charles won some races but he did that when Max didn't finish, so if reliability issues are solved, then Red Bull should have an easy win.

So really fixed the exit of Suzuki is not yet, but the two drivers are young and good even with a world champion. Since it is understandable that the driver carousel comes into motion. Also Fabio and Miller have no fixed contract and Yamaha and the werksducati are good addresses.

Why after these unexpected Suzuki would like to get out is still a mystery to me with a valid contract with the company?

With two top 10 finishes, Marco Bezzecchi has emerged as the most impressive debutant in the first six races of the 2022 MotoGP.

Unexpectedly, Bezzecchi was able to outperform the four rivals. Racing using the Ducati Desmosedici GP21, the performance is quite brilliant. Evidenced by the results of the races at Termas de Rio Hondo and Jerez.

Until the Spanish Grand Prix series, Bezzecchi has packed 15 points. Italiano is in 18th place in the standings, three places ahead of Binder, even one position above his tandem, Marini.

“In MotoGP you have to learn a lot about the bike and its style. I guess you never stop learning when it comes to this category," said the young man who is familiarly called Bez.

I've not seen any suggestion that Mercedes have broken the rules, what is the illegal (or grey area) thing that they're doing?

it is difficult to explain without going into the technical but in a nutshell, they have started using flaps where no one is using them to push the air behind the front wheels and greatly reduce the friction of the wheels.
Depending on Sky Italy, they were able to do so because they "interpreted" the regulation in their own way so that the other teams will soon appeal or copy it if considered regular.

@coinlocket$ so far it’s looks like an smart innovation by Mercedes, and it’s does seem to be working for them and furthermore I don’t think that they’re violating any rule so far, because there doesn’t seem to be any news about them breaking any rules. Lastly I believe that you’re correct because other cars will be keenly observing how it’s working for them, and if it’s successful then they’ll adopt it too.

If that happens to translate into a better performance for the car then I think the Championship can be considered over and Ferrari to be really the best car.Leclerc is there and if he just get this upgrade it is everything he needs to win every remaining race comfortably.I hope that Redbull can bring updates to their car too otherwise it would become a really boring F1 Championship for this season.I am also waiting for that massive upgrade from Mercedes which they have promised to bring in Spain as far as I heard.

Interesting if it does happen, anything is possible. Kawasaki used to be in MotoGP but they came out in 2008 if I wasn't mistaken. It seems that the contract this time is different, because of Dorna's experience from the Kawasaki case. According to the source I read that Dorna currently provides subsidies greater than Tim spends so they assume if the cost issue is unreasonable. So far there has been no official statement from Suzuki, let's wait.

Exactly.  Imagine this, if it were Lewis Hamilton who was driving in that Ferrari what does everybody think can happen?  Grin  It's gonna be a war from the first lap on and it could even happen possibly like at Silverstone last year.  Lolol.  It was fun to watch while it lasted.  Cheesy

Anyway so it seems like Red Bull or should I say Newey changed his philosophy for their cars in 2022.  He went for a design that's faster in the straights and slower at the corners.  It's because the Honda power units are faster than what they had in the past with those Renault engines.  So yeah..  Somebody mentioned RBR was faster in the straights, slower at the corners a couple of months back.  I said no.  But he's right, I'm wrong.  Sorry...

That change was a weird one and unexpected one for sure. They have realized that they got Mercedes beaten anyway, so they do not have to focus on alternative because being faster on the straights means a lot more.

If you have the car that is faster on the straights, that will give you instant boost not just while racing but also during overtakes as well (seen at the first corner for example). They had corners faster last year and many years before that because Mercedes got the straight speed covered, they were not getting there, so the best they did was change the style of the car since engine didn't change much, but this year they knew they would be the fastest so went with straight, but I did not see that coming for sure.

The Miami Grand Prix wasn't the best race maybe but at least the last moments of it was great. Thanks to safety car, the competition between some drivers was fired up again and it was great to watch this. I started to believe in Leclerc to take the lead after as he got a good momentum. But Verstappen was so professional that he still didn't lose his place. So far Verstappen won all of the races he completed. This is an amazing statistics. And those races he couldn't finish were Red Bull's fault.

Di Giannantonio: "Confidence after the Jerez test"

The best result at Le Mans for Bastianini's teammate, Di Giannantonio, was third place in Moto3 2017: a rookie in MotoGP, Fabio aims to raise the bar and find his first points in the top class. The setup he worked on with the team at Jerez could be a great base to start again: "Le Mans is a difficult track, both in terms of temperature and weather. We came from a positive test, we found a good setup. Now it's important to check innovation adopted during the weekend race". Source: skysportmotogp

Thanks for explaining. I don't think there's much chance of any other teams wanting to copy the Mercedes build at the moment! But I understand the general point. Has it actually helped Merc at all, or is it too early to say? I mean apart from Friday, their performance in Miami was about equally as terrible as it has been at every other race so far this season.

Yeah, it is a good innovation when it is in the grey area.

It is in the hands of judges, in 2019 Ferrari needed to change the engine because it was against the spirit of the regulation.

This is the same thing, already tagged against the spirit of the regulation (and they already did this year with the flaps on mirrors).

Whit this change they were able to reach 5th-6th position in the last GP, imagine how big is not having a wall of hair in the front tires while everyone else got it.

BAD NEWS

After more than a week of being filled with big question marks, rumors that Suzuki will leave MotoGP have finally come true. The Hamamatsu manufacturer has officially ended participation in the Grand Prix world championship.

Thursday (12/5/2022) ahead of the French GP, Suzuki released an official statement. It was revealed that the main reason for the resignation was due to the unfavorable economic situation of the company as a whole.

"Suzuki Motor Corporation is in discussions with Dorna regarding the possibility of terminating its participation in MotoGP at the end of 2022," read a statement.

“Unfortunately, the current economic situation and the need to concentrate efforts on the major changes facing the Automotive world in recent years, forced Suzuki to shift costs and human resources to develop new technologies."

"We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our Suzuki Ecstar Team, to all those who have supported Suzuki motorcycle racing activities over the years and to all the Suzuki fans who have given us enthusiastic support." Source: Motorsport.com / gpzone.id

If Miami is the only race they've had this new development, then it seems to have had zero positive effect. Fifth and sixth is not an improvement over any other race this season, most races they've been around there or a bit higher. After the final restart they were losing about a second a lap on the Ferrari and RB, which is in line with the rest of the season. It sounds as though if it gets banned, it won't make their car any worse.
