indeed it was been the craziest qualify ever.
We have 6 red flags and the qualify was longer than the past year GP.
We almost got 2 hours of qualify. Crazy.

About the race, at this point Max should easly win, and we should have big recoveris from Ferrari and Mclarens.

^  As as you said, Verstappen won the race.  Well it looks like something clicked with the team after Horner left and they got their aha moment.

Next race, Singapore in a couple of weeks.  Another street circuit in a very hot and humid country.  Let's see how Verstappen fares in that one.  Wink

Here are the results from Azerbaijan.

Redbull is always being a good car in these type of tracks.
They upgraded their bottom of the car 2 races ago.
The next race as you said it will be Singapore.

That is a completely different track for grip and stress on tires.
If Redbull can compete there, then they can fight for the title.

Max won the Azerbaijan race. This was his fourth win of the season, and it brought his points to 255, just 44 points behind Norris. He once again proved he was still very competitive, even when other drivers found it quite difficult to navigate the circuit. He even finished with a total time of 14.609 seconds faster than George Russell in second place. He was truly a monster in that race.

Meanwhile, McLaren slumped in this race. Piastri suffered a DNF after hitting the wall. Norris also only managed to finish 7th, even behind Tsunoda, who finished 6th. Their pit stop strategy was quite chaotic, and he was unable to overtake in this race.

And as for Ferrari, their performance was again quite poor. They could only finish 8th and 9th, far from what fans expected. Leclerc's performance, usually quite good at the Azerbaijan GP, was subdued this time, but there was not much he could do because overtaking was quite difficult in this race.

There wasn't much to watch in this race. I even fell asleep halfway through because I was so bored.

It was a very interesting race weekend... Piastri had problems and crashed in the end. Norris couldn't also benefit from this opportunity well. Leclerc was also horrible despite his good look in Baku earlier.  Tongue

Indeed it was an easy win for Verstappen! Who was going to make difficulties for him anyway?

Up next is the Singapore GP. I don't think Verstappen will get 3 wins in a row. Especially in this place...  Grin  He has 0 win on this track so far. And his general results are poor here too. But he got a 2nd spot last season.

So if Red Bull and Verstappen starts winning races and starts getting podiums consistently at every GP, do you think that they still have a chance to win the driver's championship..?

And I'm not asking if it's mathematically still possible.  I'm asking if there's still actually a chance for him to be champion this season.  I think that it would be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, comebacks in F1 history.

Max Verstappen dominates the Azerbaijan GP, ??and it certainly sends a strong signal to McLaren, it was pure domination, they were really good, both the team and the driver, this guy definitely has a gift that others don't have, it's fair to say, this will be one of the most successful drivers ever, simply perfect

Cristian Horder got 90m€ from redbull as payoff after being sacked.

I mean, he can't be sad about it getting 90mil and being fired is a dream.
The question now is, will he back in anther team or will he retire?

There are rumors that Ferrari is interested in recruiting him as their team principal, but these are just rumors, as Ferrari is still interested in Fred Vasseur as their team principal. Personally, I think Horner would be fine as a team principal. He has experience and should be able to adapt quickly to the Ferrari environment. Moreover, Ferrari chairman John Elkann is a known admirer of Horner. Alpine and Aston Martin are other possibilities. But these are all just rumors.

What is certain is that Horner's F1 career won't end when he leaves Red Bull. He will return, but we don't know where he will end up.

I misread side news as ''sad news'' and I thought how news about someone getting 90$ million can be sad Cheesy.
You're implying that he can retire without thinking about anything after getting that much money? I hope no. I guess most of us would love to see him working in F1 somewehere

You're implying that he can retire without thinking about anything after getting that much money? I hope no. I guess most of us would love to see him working in F1 somewehere

Yeah he can retire, with that amount of money the following 30 generations can live without any problem...
Anyway yes, so far we only have rumors about Ferrari, but they confirmed Vassour so, I dont think they are free spots, unless he will go down in the tier list and he can ends in something like Alpine.

2025 F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix Race Results

Edit:  Typos

Max Verstappen dominates the Azerbaijan GP, ??and it certainly sends a strong signal to McLaren, it was pure domination, they were really good, both the team and the driver, this guy definitely has a gift that others don't have, it's fair to say, this will be one of the most successful drivers ever, simply perfect

With McLaren's case, it's not the drivers it's the car.  With Verstappen's case, it's not the car it's the driver.  Grin

I mean imagine a world where Verstappen is driving that McLaren.  Wink

Side news.
Cristian Horder got 90m€ from redbull as payoff after being sacked.

I mean, he can't be sad about it getting 90mil and being fired is a dream.
The question now is, will he back in anther team or will he retire?

It's in his contract.  It's not like he wanted to get fired to get the money...  As for what's next for him, I think he'll be a team principal for another team.  What that team might be we don't know.  But we'll prolly hear about an announcement at the end of the season...

Hopefully it's Aston Martin where he'll reunite with Newey and where he could make a champ out of Lance Stroll.  I'd love to see it.

Oh you right, he could end again with Adrian Newey.
In that case the boss should fire his son.
I don't think that Horner want Stroll as driver cause many many drivers are better than him and he is there only cause daddy has the team.

Hahahah what? Lance Stroll becoming a champion? I know Newey is a god but make that is impossible you still need to be a good driver and Lance is not a good one, he only have some really good days, and that makes someones doubt about if he have something, but he doesnt have anything asides of being the son of a rich man.

Recently Red Bull has been continuing to bring new upgrades. Small ones for Azerbaijan maybe but it was still important.

In the meantime, McLaren didn't prefer to do so. This helped Verstappen get nearer them by closing the gap faster. But how long will this go on? Will McLaren risk their drivers' title chance again?

If the PIF decides to buy Aston Martin fully then I think the first thing they will do is to give Stroll the boot.  Grin  The guy has 0 potential. He is in F1 thanks to his father.

Alonso said it would be difficult for him to retire if Aston Martin isn't competitive in 2026. He said he has thought about leaving F1, but only if everything goes well, then he can retire peacefully. He has long pursued competitive cars and competitive racing, and he hopes at least that he can get a competitive car by the end of his career. If Aston Martin is at least competitive next season, perhaps we will see Alonso end his career, but if not, he will probably continue until he gives up.

I don't think that Horner want Stroll as driver cause many many drivers are better than him and he is there only cause daddy has the team.

But what if there's a clause in Horner's contract that he can't get rid of the team owner's son?  I mean...  That's his son.  Lolol.  And Lawrence Stroll prolly put Lance in there because what if there's a father's dream is to have an F1 champ for a son.  Cheesy Cheesy

There was a write up about Lance Stroll a while back when Lance almost quit F1 and his father wanted him to return to tennis.  The impression I got from write up seems like it's the dad who wants Lance to be the F1 driver more than Lance himself.

Leclerc got a problem in the past week.
For that reason the team asked for the swap during the race.
They also asked for a swap back in the end of the race, but Hamilton failed to do so.

The team is now investigating the unknow problem

This weekend Marc Marquez will celebrate his seventh world championship in the premier class or nine times in general if we count the Moto3 and Moto2 classes. Because he only needs three points to be able to celebrate the world championship at the Motegi circuit in Japan, where he also did the same thing when he was still with Honda and celebrated his victory at Motegi Japan also in 2014, 2016 and 2018. And in today's practice session I saw Bezzecchi again able to occupy the first position followed by Pedro Acosta and Marquez.
