The team is now investigating the unknow problem
Is this the power unit issue mentioned here[1], or is there another problem affecting his car? Based on the interview, it seems like the problem kinda dissapear towards the end of the race, and there's a suspicion that it's related to temperature if I'm reading it correctly. They hypothesize that their cars are very bad in cold conditions, though I'm not sure how a cool temp affects a powerful engine that much. CMIIW.

Next race...  Singapore GP.  No dominant driver for the last three years, so does that mean Verstappen could win another race unexpectedly again?  Grin  But the books prolly should be starting to adjust by now.

*Checks the lines*

Yeah, the bookies lined him up at 3.25.  Just behind Norris and Piastri with 3.00 a piece.  McLaren should be pushing back in Singapore with Norris getting the win.  Dunno tho...  The brilliance of Verstappen is on display lately.

This will be the race.
If Max can fight on this high drag track, after the upgrades he got in his car, then he can fight in all remaining races and fight for the title.
If Mclanes will be 1 second ahead then it will be over.

Finally, Pecco Bagnaia managed to become the first by setting an all-time lap record at the Motegi circuit in Japan in today's qualifying session. I was curious why he started to be good when Marquez was about to celebrate his world championship for this season, even though previously Bagnaia really struggled with the bike he was riding and several other Ducati riders were also starting to complain about their GP25 bikes. In addition, Alex Marquez, who had previously been good, but for now has started to become an ordinary rider who no longer has the talent to be first. But what is unique is that those who fill the front row this time are riders whose bike numbers are not much different (63, 36, 93).

There's been a controversy within F1 over the introduction of reverse grids. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali floated the idea of reverse grid racing, arguing it would be more appealing to fans. However, this idea wasn't well-received by many, including Leclerc, who felt it was unnecessary. He felt that F1 was already well-suited to the format of the right number of sprint races, and there was no need to add another format, such as reverse grids. He further stated that it would be better to bring back V8 or V10 engines to F1, which would be cheaper and simpler in the future. He said he missed that, as it was part of F1's DNA - the louder sound that made so many kids fall in love with F1.

Well, what Leclerc said is actually something many people miss, because honestly, I also grew up in the era when V8s were so popular, that's what made so many people fall in love with F1. Adding increasingly unreasonable formats and Formula 1 engines that tend to be more electric will only further kill the DNA of Formula 1 itself.

Pecco Bagnaia managed to be the first in the Sprint race session this time and I saw that he was quite stable with his speed in this Sprint race after he used last year's fork on his current GP25 motorbike. Indeed, the difference is only 15mm in length with the current GP25 motorbike fork, but the effect can be very big until Bagnaia's confidence began to return when he was on a motorbike with last year's fork. However, all of that was too late because now Marquez was just waiting for himself to celebrate the world championship, if only Bagnaia had used it from the start of this season, maybe the points competition in this season's standings could have been more intense even though it was difficult for him to become the world champion this season.

Yeah, the bookies lined him up at 3.25.  Just behind Norris and Piastri with 3.00 a piece.  McLaren should be pushing back in Singapore with Norris getting the win.  Dunno tho...  The brilliance of Verstappen is on display lately.
To be fair, Max is the better driver than the other two drivers at McLaren. But at the same time, McLaren had an issue with the car and that's why they didn't do that great, so they could just have a race without issues and win easily once more. Singapore isn't an easy track neither, Baku wasn't easy but this isn't an easy one neither, whenever you race at street circuits you end up having potential issues.

So if McLaren ends up with any issues, DNF, car trouble, hitting the walls anything like that, yeah then Max has that chance. But I am not entirely sure if that's going to be the case, we may end up with not that much and we may end up with McLaren not facing any trouble and easily get the win here once more.

WSBK is also back this weekend at the Aragon circuit and Race 1 will soon begin, but Toprak's position in this race will be in second place because Bulega is very strong with his Ducati bike at the Aragon circuit. I'm a little curious whether Bulega will be able to win in Race 1 today and also try to do the same thing on Sunday, because the points standings between Toprak and Bulega are also not too far apart so there is still a chance to overtake each other by winning in every race session this season.

Verstappen has no win on Singapore track yet. I also wonder if this will be his first time there... 2 wins in last 2 races, very impressive surely!  Smiley

At some point McLaren should be able to wake up and do something, right? They should find the source of the problem in their car lately. 2 DNFs in these races is really scary.

It'd be historical if Verstappen comes back from this behind and wins even the championship.  Cheesy  But I know it's still not much realistic.

To be fair, Max really has a very low chance to win the drivers title this season. Even if he wins this race, even if it looks close, it would be a very difficult race for him considering what he is against, so the gap right now is big enough to give McLaren the chance to keep going.

What we saw at Baku was Piastri completely out, and Norris having issues all race long and not being as fast as they used to be.

However, we may not see the same thing, so even if they finish on podium, that gap will not close easily. Even in scenarios where Piastri is second place, and Max wins 10 in a row, that still doesn't close the gap. So it would be pretty incredible if Max does it, but likely case would be Max not winning the title.

Superb performance by Pecco, small change but big impact for his overall performance this weekend and he was so emotional after winning the Sprint Race.
Will he able to do the same as today in tomorrow's Main Race, hopefully he can do the same thing to prove that he is really coming back.
About Marc, high likely he will be crowned the title tomorrow because Alex is not that good in Motegi, he should even start the qualifying from Q1 (for the first time this season).
It will be hard for Alex to finish in front of Marc tomorrow unless Marc made a mistake which make him drop too many positions and make Alex finish in better position.
Seems that my hope to see Marc win the title in Mandalika will not happen Smiley

Even if Pecco Bagnaia wins the main race, it won't mean anything for his championship, except for himself, as he has won at Motegi this season. Many people's predictions are that Motegi will be the venue for Marquez's world championship celebration, not Mandalika, unless the conditions are as you mentioned, with a Marquez error allowing Alex to finish ahead of him. The weather is a bit overcast today, and I expect a close race to the finish, as the Motegi circuit has a fairly tricky layout for overtaking.

Marc Marquez won the 2025 world Champion in Japan.
The race was won By Francesco Bagnaia, who did a gland slam.
He got pole position, won the Spring and won the GP, the best week of the year for the old world champion.
His teammate Marquez ended in the second position and won the championship mathematically.

Max also raced in some GT race as well during this week. That guy is crazy man, I really do not understand him at all. It feels like he is doing shit that puts him in danger just because the only thing he knows to do is literally driving lol. I mean dude doesn't even take breaks, he just drives something else when he is not at F1 and that is crazy.

I think the best way for him to relax is literally driving, to him it is not "work", dude is not working to do that and it snot really that crazy to think that he is just having fun. It's literally his personality and that is why I believe it would be a lot better for him to keep doing something like that. I personally believe he deserves all the titles he could get.

By the way I wonder whether Mercedes will really continue with Antonelli next season. Currently the points Mercedes drivers have collected so far are like below.

Russell - 212 pts

Antonelli - 78 pts

Mercedes is still at the 2nd position in the constructors standings though. I guess Toto Wolff won't think of replacing him at all if they manage to finish the season at this place.

But they really have more points potential than this if they sign an experienced driver. Especially thinking of the new era of Formula 1 in 2026...  Smiley

Another superb performance by Pecco, although it does not mean anything for the championship but it means a lot for himself as well as for Ducati.
He only need 2 laps in the main race to make a gap more than a second with the 2nd rider which shows how powerful he is in Motegi and no rider who was able to get close to him, so he was untouchable since the start.
Well, Marc has just won his 7th MotoGP title which make him equal to the living MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi and there is still big chance for Marc to win another motoGP title as I think he will still be competitive in the next 2-3 seasons or maybe more.

I'm very happy for Marc Marquez, everyone is attacking this great rider, because everyone follows Valentino Rossi and everyone hates him, as an Italian I can't understand this, I'm very happy that he responded to the criticism on the track by winning another world title, a great

well.
Max VErstappen won at nurburgring on GT3 debut it Ferrari.
This is very impressive, he went for a race on Gt3 and he won in the 1st race in a endurance race.
It is quite surprisingly that redbull give the permit to him to race, considering that he is still racing in the f1 world championship.

I watched this race. It's not that he just won, he simply dominated, having maybe more than a minute lead against others. This left me lot of questions. Guy in his first race wins it without facing any competition. In place of other GT3 drivers I would start thinking that I'm doing something wrong with my career.
But really, is Max that good or others is so bad? Or car that Max had played big role?
