There's quite the difference between being right and being wrong. There is also quite the difference between telling the truth and lieing. The job of the PR is to be right and tell the truth. Packaging is secondary in this discussion.

Boonies above is a fine case study in this: he used to matter, a coupla years ago. Meanwhile he was in GLBSE, he was in this, he was in that (don't worry boonies, I won't actually disclose your investment history, I'm nice where it matters) and he's by now whittled himself into insignificance. Apparently he hasn't learned anything whatsoever from this, for instance about the relative values of being nice versus being truthful.

Give it another six months or so for the "whales" in their own minds invested in the various ASICs scams to be wiped and we'll finally have rational BTC. Everything starts as a religion.

Given how humble I am regarding my 'investment history' i am certainly not suffering from delusions of grandeur. Though I am quite thankful that I was only in possession of a few bonds in GLBSE at the time of it shutting down.

Nor do I think that the "majority of big time investors" care what I think, especially since I believe that they steer clear of these forums. So maybe that is who you are talking about, outsiders with deep pockets.

If you think that the function of PR is to be right and to tell the truth (about whatever the PR chooses), that certainly would explain your behavior.

There will be no hard dates in this next update. Because he is trying to answer all questions says he doesn't know for sure 100%. When main question is "when will you be shipping?".

I'm looking forward to the lengthy update that Josh is working on this afternoon that will be lots of waffle, wiggle, and excuses. When you tear back all of the fluff and side stepping you will find that there is no real information in the update.

All of the hard questions really have simple answers yet Josh is going to answer the more unimportant questions with much more detail than needed to make it look like he is actually is providing useful information.

Actually those are BFL's cheerleaders, not their customers. BFL have enough customer money now to maintain an impressive team of cheerleaders. They jump after every delay announcement trying to get public into the right mood with not much success recently.
