Sorry for the mystery about your deleted post. Not sure what the deleted comment was, but some posts are automatically trashed if they use certain forbidden words like 'i*nvest' in their body or signatures.
The reason is because with your donation you MUST signify that you DO NOT see your donation as a speculative i*nvestment of any kind and that you just altruistically support the development of a cleverly inventive, ingenious system with uncertain outcome. And in reference to what I just wrote, this is not an IPO either.

I cannot escrow any funds without an appropriate money transmitting license, but when the seller signs a message using the address he used for his donation where he confirms the sale and entitles a new owner in the form of a public key, then I can insure you to change the corresponding record in the genesis block irrevocably.

Thanks for your answer Lannister, and indeed I guess I have used a banned word as my post got deleted almost instantly.

Totally agree with your behavior about the donation, I saw in so many projects devs spending hours everyday just to answer feared inv*estors, and regardless if the project is good or not there are always troll and feared people.

Anyway if nobody ask me to transfert his ownership I will make a donation in the next fex days.

If I am correct, to have a wallet on blockchain.info with my password safe is enough to claim my XEL when they will be available?

Per my post #935 ; I can transfer the own*ership of the pubkey donation below for 1 btc.  It's discounted (as the total is more than 1 btc) but I cannot change the number of XEL.

Yes, you're correct that the rise of the btc is one factor and I s*old many of my altcoin h*oldings to consolidate back to btc.  I'm only s*elling some of my XEL donation and not everything.

pubkey:   0217e6fb61c54b5e8c9e81d99230bae79edb0430cbaa05f5d73382347f727d84b4

1.   2,493.20 xel   .368 btc
2.   1,870.64 xel   .28  btc
3.   2,958.12 xel   .45  btc

Total   7,321.96 xel   1.098 btc

I am ok with this deal for 1 BTC;

So how do we proceed?

You send me 0.001 BTC to my adress from your wallet with public key 0217e6fb61c54b5e8c9e81d99230bae79edb0430cbaa05f5d73382347f727d84b4 to prove to lannister that you really own this wallet.

Then lannister send me the green light so I send you 1.001 BTC on your address related to your wallet with public key 0217e6fb61c54b5e8c9e81d99230bae79edb0430cbaa05f5d73382347f727d84b4.

When Lannister see that I have performed the transaction  he can transfert the ownership to me.

I am not really technical, so is this way ok without risk for any parties involved?

Cool, yes, I can send the small amount of btc and/or sign a message using the pubkey.

Only Lannister can transfer the ownership to your pubkey, though and you have to make sure the wallet address you use is one you have access to the private key, too.  I just logged in to my blockchain.info wallet and I can display the private key (PLEASE DON'T POST IT) under settings, addresses, manage addresses and there's a more options on the right side (for getthe the private key).

Lannister, is it ok if we do this to transfer my ownership?

Thank you!

Jeremy, I am ready! Go ahead!

No, I will not disclose my real name on the Internet. The very simple reason I’m anonymous is so that I can talk freely about a free web. One mistake people often make is having the faulty assumption that knowing my real name or my association with a respected person, group or organization might get them to trust me more. In fact, I have no authority here. Elastic Project is a loosely associated group of developers which constantly changes over time. If you prefer projects with a more centralized structure, then please move on. Specifically, I kindly ask you to refrain from any messages that try to convince me of the contrary. My time is too valuable to be wasted with the same discussion again and again.

I amassed 20k xel on different wallets during 8000/btc era. I am happy to have them but glad to know it's possible to transfer them to another address even before end of donation phase too. I did not know that, neat!

p.s. I am heavily involved with Mineum might be good to incorporate Elastic in future operations there.

This is my address  16bjvG8VkxfNXFB6ZeGbsGC3QQrnZJe5bB (edit : there is an issue with this address thanks to wait few hours in order I update it.)

Edit 2 : that the good adress ==> 1BexuDc3UUpMRuxE9YV6TqVWTv9dhEvucF  or you can send a signed message to the donation address

Right now I have to go to work so you can send me the message signed but I will send you the bitcoin on adress 15Z5BggJhi1cgv4CV9TFGZ5WNbH7aF7hGf after work so at around 17: 00 UTC.

I can buy the amount you wish to leave at a rate of 8000 / BTC, if other people want to leave XEL I am still open to buy and anyway in few days I will make a donation.

I have answered the PM and in order to make it public, this offer makes around 6000 XEL / BTC which is slightly better than current rate of donation.

As I said previously I will make a donation anyway in few days and  I prefer to send more BTC to the donation adress in order to help the project than get a little discount with this kind of offer, however for a better rate considering 7500 XEL / BTC at least and depending the amount I still consider to get XEL from early donators.

In summary, the Intel Management Engine and its applications are a backdoor with total access to and control over the rest of the PC. The ME is a threat to freedom, security, and privacy, and the libreboot project strongly recommends avoiding it entirely. Since recent versions of it can’t be removed, this means avoiding all recent generations of Intel hardware. details https://libreboot.org/faq.html#intelme --- https://tehnoetic.com/laptops --- https://store.vikings.net/x200-ryf-certfied

Evil-Knievel, any progress on the lite XEL wallet?
Cheers!

The thing is, that some community members disagreed on a light wallet prior to the final launch. Maybe we could use the same mechanism we know from the Bitcoin BIP softfork voting. We could roll out a lite wallet that is not functioning until at least 75% of the network (of course weighted by the amount of XEL they own) broadcasts a "agree with launch" transaction. That could be one fair way to do it democratically.

Other than that, from what I see the donation campaign ends in around ~35-40 days. If we roll out something before the donation campaign ends, we will have to have multiple genesis blocks, which succesively injects donations which were made after a rollout into the software. This may become pretty comples. We could also just wait, and then skip the complex "multiple genesis blocks" stuff and roll out a light (but armed) wallet working in light mode until the alert public key broadcasts the "GO!".

What do you think about this scheme:
- In 35-40 days, when the genesis block is fixed, a alpha version of the wallet goes online.
- On the main net everything else but the basic functions (send, receive, sign, messaging) is disabled
- The testnet has all the stuff enabled.
- From that time on, XEL can be moved around and people can try to collect the bug bounties on the testnet
- The wallet will be designed in a way that, if critical bugs are found they will require an update of the client.
- Yet, not everyone needs to update, only those on the testnet
- As someone wrote in the time sheet (seriously, it was not me but I try to stick to it) we then have to wait for a 3 week period in which no new bugs are found.
- When the whole thing is ready to launch, the alert pubkey broadcasts a "GO" and there will be a (24 hour??) countdown where users have time to update to the latest version visible in the UI.
- Then the whole thing is live

I am not the one to decide anything, I am just coding, but I would strongly suggest to stick to the 3 week bug-free period requirement.
We have seen what may happen if people rush and want to be "the first on the market" at any price.

Sounds good. Imo no pre-launch light-wallet is needed 30 days before mainnet launch, but if we decide per stake i have no issue with that.

Agree. Of course genesis should start after the end of the donation campaign.

Sounds good to me as well!
