Trading and investing is almost the same but the difference is the span of your holdings of a coin. Trading is more on like short term because you want to make profit in every kind of situation that you see in the market while investing is more on like long term because you want to make a lot of profit in longer period of time and you don't care for the current price or news right now because you are looking further.

I can earn more profit if I buy a new coin below its ICO price and suddenly it will pump above the ICO price. No one is particularly good compared to one another. It really depends on one you are putting your money on. Ill start my conversation about it with stocks. Some stocks are good for the long term growth in which what you are looking for is investing, while some stocks have the volatility that the traders love in which they take advantage of, also traders don't look at the fundamentals of the company but some speculative news that can hype the stock up which is also good for their profit taking.
