anyone else find it incredibly silly that there is a post requirement before you can begin posting?... hours logged in... Sure, fine, i can understand that.
But why make me post 5 completely worthless posts in some kiddy forum with no real relevance before letting me comment where i want to?
Not everyone makes multiple posts a day. Some people will only make 1-2 real posts in a month over an entire fourm...

Good evening, everyone.
My name is Coyo, I'm a math major in college. I'm studying bitcoin as part of my eventual career.
I study subcultures in my free time for SCIENCE.
I think bitcoin has a massive future, and will be THE slow-but-sure payment method of choice, and be comparable to digital gold.
Payments with bitcoin will always be slow (taking as long as 4 hours to complete 6 confirms), but it will be reliable and anonymous.
OpenTransactions, if it matures, will allow for faster transactions, and Ripple may allow for something interesting, but really, Bitcoin is proven, many people make a living on bitcoin alone.
There are people, in the dark recesses of the Internet, who are quietly collecting bitcoins, and believe, for good reason, that bitcoin price will not only remain stable in years to come, but the price will increase over time. There are people, in the shadowy corners of the Internet, who believe that The Future is Now. Bitcoin is an essential part of The Future.
My goal is to study bitcoin, and being the agorist classic liberal entrepreneur that I am, find a solid market demand and tap it.
I am considering designing and building a bitcoin futures contracts trading website (through existing exchanges) so that vendors and merchants can accept bitcoin and be able to sell it at a stabilized price.

Hi, I'm Mandelbrot and have been a Bitcoin miner since early 2011. I can't even remember my original account after the forum got hacked, so I'm starting from square 1, again.

I forgot to introduce myself before I posted. I'm just interested in the Bitcoin project, which is among the most interesting internet endeavors going on these days.

Hi all. I'm interested in expanding my understanding of economics and, like some others, feel that this is the perfect place to learn and practice.

I am Jayakumar and I run a small animation studio. I heard about bitcoin very recently and after a bit of research found this site. I have tried mining a bit and look to be involved in the world of bitcoin.

This is Atlas. Negotiations are underway to bring me back on the forums under the following conditions:
- I use one account.
- No trolling or vandalism is done.
- I respect the rules of the forums.
- My thread creation is kept at a minimum.
The acceptance of this agreement is pending.
I wish to thank Blitzboom (Blitz) for his support in this endeavor.

Hey guys,
I've been reading this forum for quite a while, but have decided registering now, because I've started out mining myself.
Hope to get in touch with like-minded people and share thoughts on mining on a low-power GPU like mine (GTX 570, 160 Mhash).
Cheers! drekk

Just found out about it with the whole Mitt Romney Tax Return Scandal (BitcoinGate?) and figured I'd see if it actually is worth anything or is just another fly-by-night scheme.
Figured I'd come to the source, right here.
Why would I want to get in on it? Money making, of course. Why wouldn't I want to get in on it? What the HELL can you buy with it?
I'm hoping to find something with more of an infrastructure and use than taking Pogs and writing on a Sharpie "Good for 1 Yummy Egg" on them and then trying to get my YumYum currency accepted for eggs world-wide.

Lol, vendors and services accepting bitcoin are growing very fast, more or less exponentially and maybe half the folks active on the forum have services to offer, make a thread looking for something and it will almost certainly get some offers (you'll need to get more posts up in this section to post in the main forum). Funding for business ventures is probably the area growing the most in volume, its heading for million dollar startups atm, that's a risky area though, not the kind of thing to just jump into unaware.
I'd love to see what vendors are taking BTC. Steam? Amazon? B&N? EA? PayPal? How exactly can it be used. All I've seen are a FEW things, doing two days of research, as well as Silk Road, which I guess is fine if I want a bag of smoke. What "vendors and services accepting bitcoin" are out there?
