Hi other newbies (I imagine we're the only people who come in here..)

I've been dipping in and out of BTC for a little while now and I'm just starting to flirt with mining on a home server setup.

Cheers,

I have been observing and investing in bitcoin for a long time, while I have been running a high yield program with my partner for several months. I'm going to raise bitcoin from the community. Wish my endeavor will help the bitcoin economy.

Hi everyone! My name is yukiko, but yuki is okay too. Im from Japan, but I lived in Canada for about 12 years when I was younger so I speak English! I dont think very well tho ;p
Ive never really been a "girly girl". I like building computers, gaming and programming, but not very good lol. I have been mining bitcoin for a while, but now just a hobby.
Anyway, I hope we can get along well!

Hello all!

I've been interested in BitCoin since I started reading about it a few months ago and it's about time I get to know the community.

I look forward in learning a lot and helping build this into a worldwide phenomenon!

Not yet as I am looking into the ASIC units soon to be available, I feel those may be a better ROI than building a rig at this point...an old gaming computer in my lab serves a my miner currently; not very fast but close to "free" electricity (solar + wind).

Oh same here, my brother has a server farm that he is upgrading to ASIC machines whenever they release it. Which vendor will you be buying from?
I hear you wont have to worry much about power consumption with these new chips so that solar and wind power setup sounds nice!

I am still doing research at this point...

I live on a farm so the power isn't always reliable...my workshop is powered that way. If only I could do the whole house!

While it's a little frustrating since I lurked for awhile before registering I can understand the "newbie post rule" logic.  Now if I can just figure out some useful posts!
Same here. I feel your pain, bro. Grin

I've actually signed up to participate in the discussions around the p2pool/p2pmining, but what the heck... Just gotta wait for some threads in "Newbies" worthwile posting to and all will be good. And if it keeps the trolls out - the better.

See ya around!

I am lurking for quite some time and am now trying to get enough posts to get out of newbie status.
