EEK here. Always have been intimidated by investing and the past week has shown me why. Late nights and emotional highs and lows. Its a frightening good time.

Bitcoin fascinates me. I'm genuinely convinced it or some form of it will be the future of online transactions. I see everything moving towards a distributed model. First bittorrent, bitcoin, mesh net, then cellular communications, 3d printing etc. Its too powerful of an idea. I had a hunch 6 months ago but didn't invest much. This last bull run to 50 woke me up and i probably put in too much with me getting married and moving very soon and me just being a normal working stiff trying to stay afloat, but you have to start somewhere.

I was reminded of bitcoins power on reddit, where I used the tip bot to effortlessly send some coins to someone who made me laugh. I can see facebook likes and youtube likes being in effect 'monetized' by bitcoin. Allowing us to in effect, cash in our 'social capital'

Paridoxically, the more people give away bitcoin, the more people use it, and the more valuable it becomes. I hope the future proves me right.

Introducing myself.  I suppose this makes post four.  I'm considering investing in BitCoins.  We'll see if it happens or not.  I'm going to watch the price for a few more weeks before doing anything serious, and, of course, the third batch of Avalons isn't out yet (and Butterfly Labs may never produce anything).

Watch the price from the past.   Look at bitcoincharts.org and look at everything in different time periods, zooms, indicators.  Get a feel for it then drill into the last 3 months, then decide what you will buy at.

We are in a correction now (?? maybe, nobody really knows what the hell) -- so I would buy now if coinbase had any coins.

I told all of my friends to buy in December but didn't put my money where my mouth is. I am kicking myself now.

I almost bought $500 at 47 today like an idiot but realized that it was probably a bubble. I subsequently watched it drop to $35 and was so happy that I did not buy so high. When I tried to buy at $35, I couldn't find a service that would let me make a purchase order. I would have made a purchase around there and after watching it climb again, I have vowed not to be unprepared again.

Eventually, I would like to have my own server dedicated to making purchase orders and possibly running algorithms for automatic training. I will learn whatever languages/skills necessary. Does anyone have any suggestions for resources to point me in the right direction?

Hi I am new to Bitcoins, well sort of. I knew about Bitcoins and downloaded the client a couple years ago but never did any mining or buying/selling. I am now kicking myself but not too hard because I know that this is still the beginning and eventually we will see a single Bitcoin worth more than you can believe at this time, but guess what? The guy that bought 2 pizzas for 10 thousand Bitcoins back in 2010 thought that they were only worth so much back then and look what they are doing now. By the way the pizza thread has to be one of the best threads I have ever read in my life on any forum, period.

Hi Everyone,

I would like to say thanks for those of you who make valuable contributions for the community.

I have discovered bitcoin about 2 years ago, since that I had mining operations and I also trade occasionally.
