Hello, joined the mining pool about 5 days ago. I am from South Africa. Really interested in the idea of decentralised currency.

Hi all, I'm wizzardTim, I' m really interested in cryptocurrencies and I like their philosophy.
I also hope and believe that they will become open to public. I'm specially interested in mining LiteCoins.

Hi

I am from India.

Just understood about Bitcoin.

Want to get started to earn some bitcoins online since there is no way I will be able to mine them.

Anyone wants anything done, let me know.

Hi people. It's a great pleasure to join this community. I have just discovered BitCoin and got instantly addicted to it. I am quickly getting familiar with the system. Doing some pool mining (30 Mhash only, LOL) but plan to increase.

Also, planning to make some BTC related project. Ideas are welcome. Have access to small to medium funding, IT and development resources (being a professional programmer myself). Reply or PM any time.

Hello,

I live in languages other than English,
That does not speak English well,
To answer in English on Bitcoins, ask me, I almost can not tell.

Hi All! :-)

I knew about bitcoins, but very recently started dealing with them - I am active user of Chinese panda coin / MCC communities - and that is my primary hobby at the moment. Already enjoying the new world of e-currencies :-)

Best wishes,

I'm Synapse from Manchester, England, UK.

I mine on Slush's Pool (1x 7970 @ 621 MH). 0.08p / KW/h with Solar PV.

Spent the other night going through the entire transcript from the Pre 0.8 / 0.8 bitcoind blockchain split on the Dev IRC. Was some intense reading. Feel bad for Eleuthria, the night before he lost around ~1,500BTC from a problem during the upgrade of his pool and the next day he was one of the silent heroes who helped save our beloved currency by being the first to switch his pool over to the older 0.7 to resolve the split. And he lost a further 200BTC from that too Sad

I keep thinking it'd be a good idea to do a whip-round for the guy, maybe 0.01 BTC each from everyone and we'de get him a nice treat for being so lovely Smiley

On a side note, I was doing some calculations and found something a little worrying, I was going to pre-order an ASIC until I established this...

Apologies if my notes are a bit scruffy but here goes;

Currently:
My 7970 GPU: £285
me: 0.6 GH
total: 30,000 GH
= I have a 0.002% share of hash rate. Earning ~£1.50 a day.

publicly known BFL asics (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=89685.0)
My would-be Mini Single SC: £450
me then: 30 GH
total then: 60,000,000 GH
= I have a 0.00005% share of the hash rate. Earning ~£0.03 per day.

So this only accounts for the BFL sales (the ones we know about). If you throw in the Avalon and unknown BFL orders, your talking ~£0.01 per day.

Which means... Once those people who have pre-ordered get their ASICs. No one will ever get back their investment.

I assume I made a mistake here somewhere Tongue

Anyway, hopefully wont be long before I have 4 more messages of interest to break my way out of newbie land Cheesy

Edit:
Here's the transcript of d-day for anyone interested. Very awe-inspiring (and funny too lol). K1773R shooting down all the off-topic and spammers, it was like a blood bath in there Tongue

http://bitcoinstats.com/irc/bitcoin-dev/logs/2013/03/12

Bonus points if you spot this bit where someone badmouths Slush an hour before he join the channel lol. Poor guy! We need more love for our pool masters Smiley

Edit2:

Just spotted my mistake;

If we look at the publicly known BFL ASIC pre-orders:
If I ordered the Mini Single SC for: £450
My hash rate would then be: 30 GH/s
the total world hash rate at that point would be: 90,000 GH/s

So then I would have a 0.03% share of the hash rate. Earning just ~£15.00 per day.

Hmmm, sounds a bit better now :p

Hi guys -

Gavstah here - complete newbtard to bitcoin, but very interested.

Has anyone here dealt with Paysius?  Their support is unresponsive, and the ssl cert on their site appears to have expired.

Glad to meet you all, and looking forward to working with bit coins.

All good wishes!
