Fairly new to bitcoin (Crypto-currencies).
Mined Bitcoin using 1 MSI 6870 over the past few months (Accumulated a little over 2 coins). Running at about 275 Mhash/s.
Started mining Litecoin using the same card about a week ago (Accumulated a little over 40 coins). Running at about 330 Khash/s.
I currently have 2 more 6870's coming and will soon be mining Bitcoin or Litecoin at around 825 and 990 respectively.

Hi. I am glad to have joined the forum. I am a sotware engineer working in the San Francisco Bay area. I mined bitcoins for a while about a year ago and am getting back into it again. I'm thinking of purchasing an ASIC miner but sounds like it will take months to acquire.

Hello, I am not really new to Bit Coins, however I have never been much of a joiner. I am learning that People really do help each other out, and display patience, and caring in the forums that are run with common sense, and respect. I am happy to have joined this forum and hope I will learn and contribute. One other thing I joined today was "Charity Ad" they said it was necessary to post my Id so I will comply: 719016-675df290c0b3149c38fa70f61d9a19e0

Learned about Bitcoin recently, I hope it's not too late.
I am a computer/semiconductor professional (FPGA,ASIC,SoC), so have some background on implementing algorithms similar to Sha256. Also I am fascinated by the idea, I think it will have huge social and economic impact, which most politicians, economists, philosophers, bankers haven't realized yet.

Hi all,
new to BTC but I really like the philosophy. I have yet to purchase any but I'm considering exchanging silver for BTC.
The biggest thing holding me back is that I am not from a computer programming background. I do not have the foundational knowledge to understand much of the things that can keep me and my BTC safe.
I do not know how to keep a wallet safe whether it be a wallet stored and backed up on disc/usb/paper or online.
I do not know how to conduct transactions in a manner that will not expose my IP address etc. (if this is even a concern)
I do not know how to keep my machine clean and free of malware/loggers etc other then having avast installed and running on my machine, I do not know if this is even enough or worthwhile.
I consider myself an average and possibly above average layperson that can use a computer.
I think BTC has a huge potential in revolutionizing commerce/civil liberties but perhaps the greatest impediment to it's adoption is the things I have mentioned.... along with an entrenched/lack of knowledge of monetary systems and economics.
Each day I know more then the last but my knowledge is so fragmented that I am having trouble putting it together. I have been doing lots of reading (here and the rest of the web)trying to understand whats needed to keep me safe but there seems to be a lack of a good repository of information understandable to beginners/non tech savvy. Whenever I search for information I find something that seems to discuss it and it either gets sidetracked or discussed at a level beyond my understanding....
trying not to get discouraged..
Thanks

New to bitcoin, came across it on TOR and piqued my curiosity. The more I learn the more I like it. Looking forward to see where it goes.
