Got into bitcoin sometime ago, not at $5 but at $58.

Trying to become rich now, or at least to fulfill my dreams.

How does it go....

The best point to invest in BTC was at 5$. The second best is today.

Fellow Newbies,

Portnoy's thread Free Bitcoin Sites *and* Free Newbie Lotto is good for newbies.

There is a list of sites giving away free bitcoins.  Also, a daily draw for newbies.  Its fun.

After a long time away from BTC I'm getting back into it a little, mostly due to the large increase in exchange rate as of late.

I am requesting moderator to give me permission to post in the following thread immediately:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=119460.0

I think I have discovered a critical flaw in Bitcoin and it will stop functioning in months if I am correct:

http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/799/can-i-download-the-whole-block-chain-from-somewhere/8661#8661
You are incorrect, and need to learn more about how proof-of-work works. The key to any proof-of-work function is that it is it difficult to perform the work, but easy to verify that the work is correct. In the case of Bitcoin, the function is to find a set of data whose SHA-256 hash is less than a particular "target" value. Since hashes are essentially random, there is no way to perform this function without repeatedly hashing many candidate data sets until you find one which matches the target. The lower the target, the more hashing operations are required. But crucially, verifying that the solution is correct requires only a single hashing operation, regardless of the target. Although ASICs substantially increase the difficulty of finding hashes, verifying them does not (and will never) require any more computational effort than it does presently.

Note also that the purpose of mining is not to provide "a level playing field", but to secure the blockchain from attack. ASICs help this security by making attacks utilising conventional hardware (such as botnets or general-purpose supercomputers) much less feasible.

I'm also not sure I understand your proposed "solution" to this non-existent problem, either, though it seems to be far more centralised (and therefore vulnerable to attack), and also nobody like inflatacoins, neither.

Will pretend to do unspeakable things (while actually eating a taco) for bitcoins: 1K6d1EviQKX3SVKjPYmJGyWBb1avbmCFM4
