bitcoin miner turning to litecoin due to unfair mining advantage from the asic hardware. but life is not about fairness isn't it:)
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

When I learned about Bitcoin over a year ago, I found it interesting. But it seemed a little bit too high to grasp for me. But now that I've found this Bitcoin software wallet and GUIminer which made it a bit more accessible to me. The problem is I can't concentrate enough to read trough all the lengthy, seemingly, high tech jargon, which is kind of Chinese to me, to get things working and GUIminer I just had to unzip. So now I'm mining, just for fun. Probably costs me more then I'll ever gain at 13,9 Mhash/s. But I'm just curious.
Meanwhile I learned about Litecoin too. But installing mining software for this currency seems so difficult to me. Well, I'm not that computer savvy and it seems so complex, regrettably. If there'd be some sort of GUIminer for Litecoin, I sure would give it a try.
But, I respect how a lot of you are so in to this. Investing in cards, other hardware and stuff. Talking about commitment.

Amazing watching BTC go up relentlessly.  I think it's actually better that it's not tied to an asset because there is nothing to anchor the price - ie. it can go up forever (theoretically).  At some point, though the tide will turn and holders will take profits which may escalate into a big slide down, also without brakes.  So enjoy the moment.  I am!

Greetings and Salutations,

I am a Newbie bitcoin, California Solo Miner.  LOL!

Just started using "Litecoin" and "Reaper" today.

Getting around 1.5GH/s to 1.46GH/s off my one video card.
Is that good?

I am still a bit confused on the whole process.  Is there a Dumb/Stupid/Newbie extreme edition set by set on how to solo mine.  Because I have no idea what in the world I am doing.  Feeling really dumb here.

Thank you for your time from,
Vital

Hello I am the infamous Mr.Green from NY.  I am a newb at this but I have been reading your forums for over 24 hours pretty much absorbing everything.  Very interested in this whole process.  I am using GUIminer and I am thinking about upgrading to some FPGA boards but still a little lost on it.  Figure it seems pretty self explainable due to this very detailed forum.

Yo! Definitely like what I see here, some BTC problems are just too obscure to bitch about anywhere else.

Hope I can bust out of newb status soon to start selling my Lindens for BTC from those who want to buy them. I am so sick of Virowx I'm coughing up blood.

:-\Okay... mining btc for me is out of reach...so I'm interested in mining Litcoins.  Has ne1 have any success mining ltc?  If so, how can some1 with just a desktop earn in litecoins per week.  Any info greatly appreciated since I think litcoin mining will take off like wildfire!
