Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Hi.
I registered in order to respond to an add of someone selling BTC's. But since I can only post here, I can't let him know I'm interested.
Hopefully I'll be able to post before they're all gone.

Hi all!
I am an computer science student from Germany and I learned about BTC a while ago now. This whole idea sounds very interesting, so I decided to join this forum to learn from more experienced users. I have a lot of interests, including web and android development and I could possibly start a bitcoin related project in the future.

Hi im Biocide.
I'm totally new to bitcoin mining. Just opened my eyes for it a few days ago and have been trying to take in as much information i can.
I have ordered my hardware for a dedicated mining rig that hopefully will arrive in a few days.
I have some experience of Linux since i have been working with Dreambox servers and written some beginnerguides bout setting them up.

Nope, that's a recent phenom. I came here (about two years ago now) trying to figure out the "scam", because the idea of it was eating away at me. I just knew it had to be some kind of scam, but the idea was so compelling I couldn't stay away. About two weeks in, while reading the white paper for the fourth or fifth time, suddenly I "grokked" it. And I've been here ever since. I'm a mod mostly because I'm here just about everyday and I'm not skilled enough to help development.

"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank...sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."

Im a physics student from germany and im dealing with bitcoins for almost one year now.
It's a really interesting idea to me and I think it has a lot of potential. I've been reading the forum for a long time already and finally registered myself now to take part in a few of these interesting discussions taking place here. I wanted to post my personal experience with p2pool in a thread but guess I need to stay here for a while first :
So hello2everyone

Haha I learned about bitcoins over the summer and created this account but never posted anything.
Just today, my professor started talking about bitcoins to a class of 400 students and I was the only one who knew what they were...hopefully this will start gaining more traction instead of falling into a forgotten domain of amazing ideas!
