The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

I have my own way of verifying people and their PayPal accounts/payments so pretty much idiot scammers wont even get near my bitcoins, but some "professional" scammer may be able to scam me,but well, there's always risk involvement in transactions like this. I will depend also on my guys if someone is right or not Smiley

PayPal wont find out about my account unless I will be having alot disputes at once, but then I can always open another PayPal account under my name or some friend's. I'm not too worried about that because PayPal works very slacky in my country and they even barely do any verification's.

Sorry but I will be not answering more questions in newbie zone, only in my thread MarketPlace because I cba later to rewrite same answers again and again.

Lets hope i'll get out of this stupid newbie zone soon!:)

Hello from the the peninsula occupied by the italian state*!
And sorry in advance for my english!

I have discovered Bitcoins some months ago. Distrustful as I am, I've done a lot of searching (and this forum helped a lot), but at the end I liked very much the idea in the hope it remains mainly as a barter method.
So, starting this year, I installed a client on the PC and one on my Android phone.
I sell stuff on the internet as a private since 2007, and now I decided to accept Bitcoins.
Be aware, for those who might be interested, that there is nothing so special. I am just a private guy who sell mainly old stuff or gifts that I don't use anymore or never used at all, collectible that I got tired of (Nutella glasses, little eggs surprises, etc.), a little bit of retrocomputing (Amiga anyone?), and so on... I really hate to throw things away! Oh, and I propose myself as a driver/chaffeur and offer my fairly good skills as "PC support guy" too in my nearby!

Hey guys, I'm Matt, I just happened upon Bitcoins while surfing the web, and then ended up on this forum.  I'm presently in college studying finance, accounting, and computer science in hopes of becoming a trader/hedge fund manager in the future. Bitcoin trading seems a way to get some practice in (and hopefully even make some money) without large minimum account balances.

Ahoy! Figured I've been idly mining coins in the shadows, but felt like it was about time to join the boards and see what's kickin' in the bitcoin community. Been mining since around August.

Most recently, I've decided to scope out the boards to see if Bitcoins would work out as a form of payment for my music merch.

Excited to join the boards and see how their use is progressing. Glad to be here!

Hi,

New to BTC and new to the forums.  Been following the whole thing for a while now but finally decided I'd have a crack at trading, so I've invested in a small amount and I'm having a go at it.  Seems to be working out pretty well so far.

Introduce myself? Um, just a lurker who apparently failed reading comprehension since it's taken me months to realize why I couldn't post to the forums I am following! Looks like that time spent in university was wasted, eh?

Happy new year to y'all!

Haha! Me Too!

Well, hi. I'm liam. The newbie restriction is nasty in my eyes Sad

+1

But probably necessary...

Tahoda
I'm curious why is it necessary? I've never seen such approach before.

You'll see its purpose along the way.

Hi, My name is Ion, and I just started to look into how Bitcoin works and how you can mine for bitcoins.
I have already started mining on 1 computer over at the deepbit pool, my current mining pc is a Pentium d 925 at 3 GHz (dual core).
