I have 3 6GB cards which all are showing between 315 and 320 sols in SMOS. I haven't tried any 3GB versions so not sure how relevant my numbers are.

I just bought Galax GTX 1060 6GB and indeed its memory using Hynix. I've tried overclock / underclock and maximum results are 300-327 Sol/s in Equihash. My settings are: power limit 90 temp limit 75 (manual) core clock +225 mem clock +575 fan 60 (manual)
power usage 105-110W (ewbf) eficiency 2.8-3.1 Sol/W (ewbf) temp 66-70
UPDATE: efficiency >3 Sol/Watt, reduce power limit to 85

If you lower it down to 800mV and 1650MHz core, you'll get about 3.8 sol/W and 250 sol/s. Use Afterburner to lock the strap.

zotac with hynix max 18mh/s ethash
I also got one Zotac with Hynix and dont even bother trying to go for ETH. Hashing 295 sol/s (3 gb version). Its pretty decent for that price but with that kind of memory you basically lose one viable mining option.

Get ~300 or above @ 75 core, 499 memory, 85% power limit on 3 of my gtx 1060's. Two Samsung 6gb and One Hynix 3gb. EWBF 0.3.4b

+225 on core? That's pretty high. What's the effective clocks while mining? That's what matters though.

the 6gb cards seem best, i have three brands and all do 23.5 eth with 600 mem and 80 percent powerlimit 73 watt per card

Within the 6GB cards, you still have the chance to get a model with Hynix memory, that just isn't profitable enough to mine ETH. 6GB cards hold value better than 3GB (VRAM amount affects performance in high-resolution gaming) and have slightly better hashrate - 6GB versions come with 1280 CUDA cores, 3GB - with 1152 CUDA cores.

I just got a 1060 3Gb version with samsung memory quite lucky probably. Im thinking to buy some more of the same brand as this can be valuable for some ETH clones. It also hashes better at equihash than a hynix card with the same setting. Quite nice i have to say

Equihash does need higher core speed but at 80% power limit you're already lowered the voltage applied to core. So that +200 core bump isn't actually doing anything with realtime clocks. Check the actual clocks while mining. p.s I get 300+ Sol/s with +75 core and +400 memory 85% power ~ 98w

Depends of algorithm in use and miner, of course. And usually the 3GB version will be slower then 10% then 6GB version But I can add, that one gtx 1080ti will equivalent 3 pcs of gtx 1060 ))

I recently bought a Gigabyte and Zotac card, the GB had Samsung the Zotac Hynix. Both 2 samples barely qualify for any statistic. Only thing I can say is that on more than 10 Gigabyte cards I bought I never had Hynix memory - always Samsung or Micron.
