Hi, I would appreciate a jump start on the whole 50 post thing.

I really want to find a source for small quantities of btc, and note many of the regulars here mention selling from time to time.

Cheers!

Hello fellow bitcoiners...

I would like an immediate unlock to post about a strange issue I'm having mining with GUIMiner.

I've been mining for a few days using my GTX 260 card, getting around 45 Mhashes in addition to 13 Mhashes / sec from the CPU (~58) with a nice trickle payout.

Randomly the miner quit working. I am using version 2011-06-09 of GUIMiner. Now whenever I try to start up the miner I get the error "Unable to initialize CUDA" and it won't start. I rebooted, reinstalled graphics driver, tried the latest driver from Nvidia, rolled back the driver, rebooted again...zilch. Nothing I try works. Have also googled and the only thing I can find is some old developer messages from when CUDA was first rolled out.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Yes, Yes! Please let me out of here.  You can see by my posts I'm responsible and have no agenda except the betterment of bitcoin.  Also I posted about bitcoin here on another thread

I'd like to be whitelisted as well. Although I only have a few posts, I think they are indicative of my non-spamminess. One of my posts was with a technical problem about Bitcoin. I was trying to post another one today but am restricted to the Newbies section. I'm a software developer and have a strong desire to contribute to the development of Bitcion.

Additionally, I provide web development services and accept Bitcoin as a currency. By being restricted to this section, I'm unable to effectively promote this service and thus encourage the expansion of Bitcoin as a currency. In fact, I'd suggest finding a better way of dealing with spam than this, as it is going to severely dampen the exchange of Bitcoins for goods and services, much of which occurs through this forum.

I also advocate for Bitcoin on Youtube and via social media. When people ask questions such as "How do I know the creators of Bitcoin won't just make a bunch of them and get free money?" I am able to answer and go into some depth on the cryptographic and technical implementation details of why Bitcoin is resistant to these things. Not only this, but I'm able to present it in a manner that the average Joe can understand--something that is unfortunately lacking in the Bitcoin world. In fact, I just ordered a 1080p webcam today in hopes of starting a Youtube channel that may make Bitcoin more palatable to the average non-technical user.

In short, I'm not a newbie, please whitelist me Smiley

Hi,

i'm Adam, i'm a newbie on this forum, and i'd like to get out of the newbie box.

i'm a programmer, i don't pretend to fully understand the bitcoin system.

Im trying to find out if anyone know any B&M stores that sell pcie x1 to x16 cables (not cablesareus). currently mining with two 5850s and just picked up another two which i would like to add to my rig ASAP (cannot wait for how ever many days to be shipped to me with the recent price drop and difficulty increase) so i must use the pci x1 slots on my mobo.

in all honesty, ive been reading the hell out of this forum and i feel like I must contribute.  The noob section is not for me.  I love bitcoin and I am down for the cause.  I want to be part of the revolution.  I want to be part of the history in the making.  Please let me contribute.  I have been learning with a zippered mouth for too long.  Hook it up please!

Whitelist meh, please.

Have a post from before the newbie corner was setup. Mostly lurk, but do have occasion to post on the mining HW & SW topics.

Running multiple miners on unbuntu, ~ 2Gh/s. Was gonna post re: Dwolla slowness but alas....I'm a noob.

So I wouldn't mind being Whitelisted. The reason I registered is to post some configuration questions on the Phoenix thread, and I'd rather they be there than cluttering up the newbie forum.

Basically, fishing for advice on the proper setup for a Mac Pro that's not a dedicated miner. I've noticed some oddities with what seems the gestalt advice, and what I'm seeing and well...I wouldn't mind faster speeds.

Straight to the point!
I have a rig that I made and is valued over 2K US dollars.

I just started mining earlier this week, and have thus far earned 5 BTC. I am pooling with BTC guild and really need to be able to post, in the more looked upon parts of this forum in order to get into certain conversations. MTgox will not cut it for me and I need the ability to talk with other users who may be willing to invite me to the Bitcoin Market, a BTC trading site that uses PAYPAL. I refuse to conduct any transactions involving my personal information on any site other than paypal since they are very credible.

If I could get out of this "Newbie" section that would be great.

Current setup is a intel i7 quad core @ 3.4Ghz + 8Gb Ram + 1 GDDR5 Radeon HD 6870. Running around 320Mhash/s - OCed my GPU for 1000ghz (ofcourse my core memory and voltage were setup correctly to achieve this). As soon as I can sell a couple BTC i will be getting my second 6870 to run on my mobo.

You can see the pool at www.nofeemining.com

Hi there,

If possible please can I be allowed to post in the 'wide world' of the rest of the forum?

I'm having a bit of an issue with a deposit on britcoin.co.uk (5 days without a deposit to my britcoin account showing) and the forum thread on here seems to be the best means of contacting the site admins.

Thanks Smiley

Edit: Many people posting here have already met the 5 posts and 4 hour requirements. If you see "Jr. Member" by your name, you don't need to post here.

Lol, so its like reaching level 5 before you can spam world chat.

Anyway, off to work on those then!

And hai first post Smiley

I allow payments by Bitcoin on my own webshop (at www.belgianflavours.com, selling Belgian beers, snacks and candy)

I've known about bitcoins from when they were worth 3 cents, have only been a visitor on this forum since may.

Just received a couple of 5850's yesterday.
Currently mining at 342MHash/s with Phoenix 1.50 (phatk kernel) @ 880/900MHz on bitcoins.lc pool.
Looking to underclock the memory down to 300 and to overvolt the cards so I can increase the clock speed more without crashing.

Get me out of here.
