Hello, I'd like to respectfully request that the following linked-to post be moved from the newbie section to the technical discussion forum.  You can decide if the post has any merit before doing so. Thank you.

Hello Atlas,

I kindly request to be whitelisted.

I wish to offer my advisory services in the Marketplace.

I can assure you that I am no spammer, I actually run several newsletters online that comply with the CAN-SPAM act, they are double opt-in and people can unsubscribe at any time, so I am well aware of the difference between SPAM and desired emails.

I am very interested in bitcoin and anything the government can't get their hands on. I also invest in precious metals such as silver and gold and see bitcoin as a natural part of my diversification.

I hope to contribute a lot here, if you'll have me.

Thanks

bitcola

I, too, should appreciate whitelisting.

I am trying to set up bitcoin-mining-proxy http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=5506.0, but am having some issues authenticating with actual pools; I can authenticate to any single instance of bitcoind, but all of the pools return no data with a 403 error. (Actually, api.bitcoin.cz returns a further header and page, suggesting that I go to the site and sign up, which I have -- long ago -- but everyone else returns no data at all.)

I have even enabled some debugging, and retrieved the base64-encoded authentication string that is sent in the header, and manually telnetted to the proper port and manually completed the exact same transaction.

Despite what you may think from reading the above, my php-fu is weak. (My http-fu is strong, however!)

So, once I am whitelisted, I will probalby hop on over the the proper form, and copy-pasta much of this over there.

Oh, FWIW, this is on a gentoo server that is reasonably up-to-date, apache 2.2.something and php 5.3.something. Safe mode off, apache's allow override is on for the .htaccess file in the documentroot to work it's magic, fopen should be able to do it's thing as well. I don't have actual network traces, but will get them if needed.

Thanks for listening.

I want out of here, because i want to buy an invitation for bitcoinmarket.com because they have the best prices at the moment. This was my reason to join this forum in the first place. I actually did not even plan leaving a post here...
But even private messages are blocked. This suxx.

I have just registered for the sole purpose to notify slush about security concerns regarding his site. However I cannot post into pool thread, neither I can send PM to him. This is funny, because he openly advertises this forum as the only contact to him and this forum on the other side blocks me completely from him.

And in all honesty I would be fine with just PM, I do not need to post into pool thread or spam newbie forum in order to get entry. Would you grant me this?

EDIT: I have found the email on his site. So I am just going to notify him (apart from my original concerns) that this forum is no longer able to provide help to the newcomers of his pool.

Please can someone come up with a better procedure than this newbie section?

A have a comment to the thread "Bitcoin7 a new exchange":

There seems to be a lot of self righteous bashing about the "float" issue of bitcoin7 upstart exchange. In fact the the IEEE decimal32 format is not the same as good old 32 bit floats. bitcoin7.com made that quite clear. If you DO know the meaning of float and decimal you should know that ieee decimal32 is both. There may be bugs but be civilized about it.

Are any of the white-list requests being honored?
Yes, they are. In fact, I'm going through the new ones right now. 11 users before your post will be whitelisted. Now, I got to get back to processing these requests...

has anyone actually been contacted here after making a request?
Yes, they have. On average, we're whitelisting about 20 people per day, many of which I've contacted personally.

I've been working on learning bitcoin mining for about 4 days now. I've been able to successfully get diablominer working on the api.bitcoin.cz pool at about 400mhs on 2 6850's, which I think is kinda low because I see people with single 5870's pushing that. Not trying to turn this into a help question lol. Mainly I need help with understanding what I'm looking at and command line parameters. I'm a fast learner and I know what I'm doing most of the time. I've just hit a road block and need help to get around it. Thanks. Ken.

I'm using GUIMiner with BitCoin 0.3.23 on Windows 7 64-bit and while it connects okay and downloads blocks, it never seems to spend long processing before downloading blocks or giving me the Problems communicating with bitcoin RPC error in the logs.

I'm not sure whether what I'm seeing is normal or a problem and if so what I need to do, so I want to pop into the GUIMiner thread to ask some questions.

I tried rolling back to 0.3.21 but the behaviour was the same.

Hi, I think I've met all the newbie requirements, I have 5+ posts and have had windows open, for more then 4 hrs logged in, But the total time logged in at the top shows me at 1hr 43 minutes. My account was created 5-6 hrs ago.

Anywyas, I would like to post in the forums for the namecoin mining pool and two bitcoin pools where I am mining if that would be possible.

Thanks, -John

I don't usually post, and often just lurk without being logged in; however, I've been mining since early this year and have gotten several other people I know interested in Bitcoins.
In any case, I'd like to be white-listed as I've just done an exchange with virtualfaqs and would like to leave feedback in his thread.

I'd like to be whitelisted.

I have just made a transaction with Tecshare, he added me rep (https://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=484.560), and I want to leave feedback in his thread.

Thanks!

Hey,
Am requesting access to the normal forums,
I have been lurking here for a month or so (Unregistered)
To discern whether or not this is a viable currency.  I have recently invested in (despite peoples advice) A couple of mining rigs, That will gain me entry level into the community,  I feel I can contribute alot to this community in due time.

Thanks

I'm a lurker (3 weeks unregistered) and just felt like helping a guy out on his hardware question but couldn't.
Mainly interested in hardware, FPGA implementations and new business ideas for bitcoin.

I refuse to spam the newbie section just to get unlocked so instead I kindly request for the manual whitelisting of my account.

Thanks,
Sebastian

Just need to post in this thread ( http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=6223.300 ) to leave feedback and get some help from the original poster. I'm willing to wait the 4 hours and post 5 times to reply there but if I could get out of here quicker that would just be wonderful. No big deal though.
