The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

What time does it take to sync now?  The last time I synced from scratch was long time ago.

None so far. Several users including myself contacted poloniex about it but received no answer yet.
I will contact them again!

This seems way too long, I'll try to confirm myself.
The telegram chat is taken over by Italians like you Wink, it's not easy for me to follow.

It is true that I paired my devices when one of them was off-line, however, now that device1 is online, nothing has changed. I was wondering if this could've happened because I mistyped the pairing code ... (well I copy/pasted it so that's not very likely, but you never know).

To check that, did you try to pair again?
Also, can you chat between the two devices?

Didn't try pairing again, might do that in the near future.
Nope I couldn't chat between them. Only device2 displayed a new paired device named New (which is supposed to be device1), messages sent to New were never received by device1.

On the mobile wallet I have two issues:
- When the wallet is synching, the blackbytes screen overlaps on the bytes screen, it comes on top of it then goes back then comes up ....
Not sure I get what you mean.  If you could do a screen recording, that would be helpful.

I managed to take a screenshot:
http://imgur.com/a/k0a7s

- I also did get this error once:
http://imgur.com/a/gzQ7T
I received 3 crash reports with this error.  It can theoretically happen if two copies of the app are running at the same time or some other process is trying to access the app's files.  Android should not allow this (unless the phone is rooted).  Can you remember what you were doing just before you saw this error for the first time?

My phone is not rooted and sorry I can't remember what I was doing before the error happened.

I have this error when I change the language on my phone, while the app is running:

Also something that I find inconvenient is that even when a device is paired with another, their address are not automatically added to the address book, moreover there is no send payment button (in the chat interface).
I'm afraid there is some confusion here.  There are two types of addresses: payment address (called just address) and device address.

Device address is permanent per device, it is used for communication (including chat), devices learn each other's device addresses and public keys (just a device address is not enough) when they are paired.  Device addresses are never written into the public database.

Payment addresses are similar to Bitcoin payment addresses, we generate a new address for each payment.  The address book (available from "Send" tab) lists payment addresses, it cannot be populated when devices are paired.

There is no "send payment" button in chat because you don't know the correspondent's payment address before he generates a new address and sends it to you.  Once he does, you click the address (it is automatically highlighted) and pay.

Okay, thanks for the explanation.

If it remains so up until snap shot the entire thing is unworkable. Need to find another method of distro unless random snap shot and snip off the top 1% of wallets. 99% the same distribution 100x more fair.

This is a request for feedback.

I was thinking of an elevator pitch that best describes Byteball and came up with two versions of the pitch:

#1 Imagine a global database that records who owns what, as well as all transfers of ownership.  The database is not controlled by any single entity, it is a common good.  Everyone can have a copy of the database and all the copies necessarily agree.  This is Byteball.

#2 Byteball is an environment that allows anyone to store value and transfer it to other users.  The environment is not controlled by any single entity, it is a common good that is open to everyone like the Internet; and the value can be anything from completely untraceable currency to bank deposits with regulatory constraints.

Which version better resonates with you?  Feel free to suggest a 3rd.

Number 2.

The first pitch could describe any decentralized ledger, the second one describes byteball better without going into details too much.
