This is mainly a bugfix update, it fixes a few annoying issues that affected the full clients.

* Full backup is working again in full clients
* Fixed out-of-memory crashes in full clients
* Fixed an issue that significantly slowed down the sync in full clients
* Indonesian translation

I am unable to make a full backup of my recently installed wallet so am worried to do something wrong during upgrade process: may someone please explain with some details how to upgrade from 1.8.2 to 1.8.3?

Do I just have to run installer over the previous version or what?

How may I stay in a safe position without beig able to make a full backup before upgrading?

They are not doubling the distribution.
Byteball is doubling the BONUS at the next distribution.
- Instead of a bonus of 10% of your byteball balance, you get a 20% bonus.

So, if you have a balance of 1 byteball now, you will get a multiplier of 1.2 on the next full moon (distribution) = You will have 1.2 byteballs.


Let's say for this distribution (May 10th) you had 16BTC linked.
You received (16*.0625 =) 1 byteball.
So, if your balances don't change for the next distribution (June 9th), you will get.....
(16*.0625 =) 1 byteball + 20% increase of your prior balance (1 byteball from May 10th = .2 byteball)
- Your new balance will be a total of   2.2 byteball

Another way to look at it:

1 byteball (May 10th)
1 byteball (June 9th) + 20% of 1 byteball from May 10th
------------------------------------------------------------------
2.2 byteball total

I just confirmed on 2x windows machines.  No problem.

(Admittedly, I made a backup of the full directory prior to doing the upgrade - ya know, just in case).

Now running version 1.8.3.
- Also confirmed that switching byteball wallets (directories) is no problem either (both between full and lite wallets as well).

Thanks for answering: with the bolded part you mean you manually copy/pasted the c/users/userrname/byteball folders in a safe place before running installer.
If it's the case: does this "manual backup" + seed backup allow to recover GB and GBB stored in wallet?

yes.

I have a few wallets in the directory.   named byteball0, byteball1, etc etc.
When I want to see a specific wallet, I rename it to simply byteball
then I open the app and all good.  When done, I rename it back.

As for copy, you can simply right click the folder, select copy, then right click and say paste.
windows makes a new folder but adds - Copy   to the name.  Or, you can copy it to another folder or drive directly.   Everything needed is in the folder.

This manual backup is all you need (that I know of - not a seed).
