I've got a question concerning BLACKBYTES:
Will there ever be a possiblity of a trading platform for these? Or is it technically impossible to implement and sending directly to someone will be the only way?

From my understanding, BlackBytes can only be traded via the chat bot.

Of course its free and open source software, https://github.com/byteball/byteballcore

You can also see the source of the transition bot.

I see you are returning to the same tactics. I'll paraphrase his concern.

Distribution is done in a centralized manner which requires to trust tonych unless there is a way to prove cryptographically that he can't send extra byteballs to himself without being caught. So now answer this: How is it possible to make sure that tonych (or who sends the byteballs) didn't abuse his power?

I too am trying to wrap my head around this whole concept. I have a small amount of BTC, but seems that this distribution will reward each full BTC with 65.2mb? Huh? so each BTC I hold in a linked wallet will then earn a distribution of 0.062 GBYTE Coin? Interesting way to distribute. At first made me very suspicious..... (the book "To Serve Man" was a cookbook.... that is all that kept running through my head as I considered it),  but obviously I would not be sharing private key... so what could go wrong?  Of course it also seems unlikely that motives are completely altruistic, but if this system is as groundbreaking as it seems to be, it would secure it's inventor's legacy.

Yeah it definitely is a win-win situation no matter how you look at it as a skeptic.

But the tech is the real deal, looks like this could be a contender against the likes of DASH XMR ZEC in time to come.

What if I told you, we are not alone in this world?

I have only been following this coin for a few days, so best to do your own research, but my understanding is there is no set minimum. Of course now that I am saying that I imagine someone would be taking this to the "nth" degree, so for you Captain Obvious types out there: if you only have a few Satoshi, the transaction rate would prevent you from receiving anything since the payout would be less than a byte.

If somebody got access to my users/appdata/byteball folder, would they have direct access to my coins? or would they need the seed as well? Would the wallet password that I have enabled carry over if someone somehow copied that folder or no?

I'd like to know this as well, does the passphrase encrypt the wallet data itself or it's a final passphrase regardless of what wallet or PC/android we use, I'm hoping the passphrase is final and necessary to send transactions like with all other coins.

byteball.fr
now provides hourly updated pictures of all Witnesses activity on the network.

Byteball.fr is an alternative hub (paired with master byteball.org) and community witness operated on a 300Mbps unmetered link.
To get efficient communication and faster wallet sync, or just to use our community-driven Witness:

In your wallet settings → hub set byteball.fr/bb

Nice job!

Notice, if you use a different hub, the default GUI client will pull the witness list from the hub, so the byteball.fr hub will push its witness. Just a friendly reminder.

Actually, when you change the hub, "auto-update witness list from the hub" switches off. At least, it did for me. I switched it back on, and it updated witness list as expected.

You don't have to be distrustful of our witness anyway. It is just running Tonych original code. It does serial posting to itself as the 13 other ones (there are 14 Witnesses alive on the network at the moment, see the stats https://byteball.fr/stats.html).

To the contrary : witness diversity is a good step toward maturity.

Some have already "adopted" our witness to encourage initiative. I know (from him) that SatoNatomato has adopted our witness too (thanks for you support Sato).

The only thing everyone should be afraid of is that 6 or more witnesses collude together. Take a minute to think about the following: The maturity of the project will be acheived with witnesses diversity (from captain of industries witnesses and/or community member witnesses).

download the wallet, run it on light mode and withdraw.
You are losing 10% each month by keeping them on exchange

New unique algo, with privacy- and anon-centric features. No ICO and fair distribution, looks really great dev keep it up!

Right now in your first 4 rounds you distributed about 16%. May I know how many more distribution rounds you plan to host, and over what time frame?

Very easy way to put a password --
1. Go to "Setting"

2. Click On "Request Password" Slider.

3. Set a password
4. Done

Backing up your wallet data is also very easy --

1. Go to "Setting"

2. Click On "Full Backup"

3. Set up a password, Keep "Compress Slider" On for compressing backup data file (it's optional). Then click on "Export"

4. Done
