Hey all, I had an older wallet, went to sync it and it seemed stuck so i closed it down. on restart it had sqlite errors. and seemed unrecoverable.
I do have older copies of the appdata from after linking address, before the 1st sharedrop, but when i sync them there are no blackbytes..?
are the blackbytes gone or?
if they are lost, what can be done in the future to prevent this loss?
I had a similar situation. Several other people reported such sqlite and sync errors upthread but I haven't seen posts about the blackbyte issue. Tony's latest version fixed the sync and sql errors, I think. I found that using a very old backup resulted in no blackbytes at all being restored, while using a more recent backup restored some of them but not all. I think (but I'm not certain) that only those on record at the time of the backup got restored, rather than those that should have come later during the sync catchup to the present time.

... The snapshots for the 5th round will be taken on the Full Moon of May, on May 10, 2017 at 21:42 UTC. This is what you receive: BTC to bytes: 1 BTC of proven balance gives you 62.5 MB (0.0625 GB) BTC to blackbytes: 1 BTC of proven balance gives you 2.1111 * 62.5 million blackbytes (money supply of blackbytes is 2.1111 times more than that of bytes) Bytes to bytes: 1 byte on any Byteball address gives you 0.1 new bytes Bytes to blackbytes: 1 byte on linked Byteball address gives you 0.21111 blackbytes ...

I installed it yesterday on my 32 bit OS and installation process went smooth but seems like it's not synching : opened it one hour ago and it still displays "syncing ...0%". Is there something I may to to speed things up ( like .conf file or bootstrap thingy or similar)? Or is there any test to check if synching is only slow here or is not going trought?

Probably, you just need to retry communicating ...

Well you have to install the wallet for sure, however, Tony says: The remaining 1% will be given away to the first 100m users who install Byteball wallet, 100 Kbytes to each user. This will start 6 months from now or later, after we get ready for that scale.
On one hand, there's an or later so it's not necessarily 6 months, on the other, we need 100m users which we didn't reach yet.

if it is your first installation it is better to uninstall and remove manualy byteball folder in user/Apdata/Local then install it again and choose light client intead of full. Otherwise the sync problem will persist and spoil your life

-snip- why these 3 address in different color? any reason? #13 1,347,755,837,760 $ 302,611.62 N5M2V4ZV3GWBRIGPHKOIVFI54UHDDDGC #16 1,304,314,072,195 $ 292,857.64 O574EASB6C2MQHCDLJ64OZQPCQVDDUYO #23 1,030,373,229,706 $ 231,349.70 ONJUFZEOUWZICCD2LY5BPM3CIFLBEZV5 #1 seems to be the genesis block. So no one actually hold these Byteballs. This is the amount that is still distributed. Thus number 2 is actually the richest account. Also I suppose that the first 10 or 15 accounts mainly belong to ICO accounts which hold a lot of Bitcoin like the ones of Lisk, Waves, Supernet etc.

Divide 10,000 GB by 100,000,000 and do the math. How big is university network? 100? 500? 1000? You would need at least 10000 wallets to get 1 GB.

One week till next distribution, can't wait time to pass quickly. Bitcoin is increasing and it is becoming hard to keep them locked in my wallet. I have waited a lot and will not let this time without getting my share like last month when I just forgot surprisingly.

....... yu say first 100k wallet loader will receive an part of 1% of all bytesball..yu talk of bytesball test or bytesball after beta..how you will distribute them ?
This is about livenet. There is a long way ahead before we actually start to distribute this 1%, we will probably distribute only to mobile wallets after phone number verification.
