Can someone comment though if just signing a message should be enough and you would not have to pay BTC to verify?

Yes, signing is enough

Hello guys, I have troubles with linking my BTC address. I'm trying to sign a message with my ledger nano S, but when I correctly post the signature, it replies with: Please just pay 0.00086 BTC to Bitcoin address ...., I'll give you further instructions as soon as we see your payment.

I would recommend Jeff Jefferson to ask:

just linked my bitcoins in my ledger nano s without the whole electrum workaround. it can be done easily within seconds using the ledger nano s tools. if anyone has any questions please feel free to ask them!

Can someone comment though if just signing a message should be enough and you would not have to pay BTC to verify?

Correct, you can just sign a message, don't have to send BTC for linking

Hey dev can you tell me how much will I get in dollars if I were to sign a message with an address containing one thousand BTC?

You would get 1000 * 0.0625 = 62.5 GB * 237$ = 14800 dollars at this moment

You are rich if having 1000 BTC, and getting richer and richer.  Grin Grin

If you was smart enough to hold 1000 BTC, you will be smart enough to hold your GBYTE (especially after having tested the wallet).
I love how smart is the Byteball distribution  Grin

Not even a single line.

Iota is basically a scam, or vaporware, very big promises and little deliveries. See latest events where a few people who had bought iotatokens lost them because they failed to "claim" their tokens again.

Byteball is in livenet/production while iota is still developer-preview/beta only, hence consensus is decided by milestone-databases.

This is yet another lie.

Let's recall how it was: You told a lot of lies and they all were revealed by me.

1. You claimed that Byteball is more secure than Monero and ZeroCoin. This was refuted by Byteball developer.
2. You claimed that Byteball blockchain can be compressed by violating the Law of information preservation. Nuff said.
3. You claimed that PoW can't be used as anti-Sybil measure. You still failed to explain how Bitcoin works then.

Here you refer to this case - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1903667.0. That case showed that iotas were returned, the user just didn't follow all necessary steps.

Many people are currently holding good number of bitcoins in their wallets in expectation of seeing price over $2000. Some of those who are aware of the Byteball will get large share from tomorrow's distribution without doing anything. This is called smart money making way earn money just for letting money in your wallet.

I am repeating my question to make sure that those who could answer it did notice the question:

Do the devs still control the majority of the witnesses? Is it really 12 servers or it's 12 processes running on a single machine or maybe it's even 1 process on 1 machine that uses 12 identities?

Only the dev could answer cause we don't know which nodes are the witnesses (and that's good for security).
You can find a list of current used witnesses there: https://byteball.fr/stats.html

Very useful page, thank you. I don't need dev's answer, I can refer to that page for actual data at any moment.

Just one day left for next distribution just waiting to get more bytes for free I expect big rise will happen after this. As bitcoin is going up so we can keep high hope for price above $400 in next few weeks before next round.

Price will drop tomorrow after distribution. Best time to place buy orders.

Big rise follows the drop and visa versa - this is  the nature of the market  Smiley

CfB is just jelaous and tries to find weakness in Byteball. When he fails he goes to attack my online persona. Very weak but funny.

Is that really all you got?

Not surprising from someone who thought proof of work on an iot chip would ever mske sense. iota worthless scam coin.

pal, not so fast.

u can earn 10 % in airdrop, but u also can loose more than 10 % in quite possible after-airdrop dump.

You don't lose or earn anything, till you've sold,  this is why you must be a long term hodler, and you will come out with profits everytime, I've had no loss since I've come into byteballs, after every last air drop, price has risen. so hold   Cool

Hi there! I faced the exact same problem but only with the latest version. I was successful on perhaps the 4th or 5th attempt, but I can only surmise it's just the hosting servers that were probably accessed by all the other users upgrading wallets - I tried perhaps in the first hour after the post informing was released. So basically, just keep trying!
