Reminder for next free distribution is really very good to bring more people from all over the world to form truly multinational community which will be helpful in future. I also have few cents in bitcoins to get some small share from next distribution. It is appreciable anyway what comes free without any effort.

byteball.fr
Announcing byteball world map. Enjoy !

byteball.fr is an alternative hub (paired with master byteball.org) and community witness operated on a 300Mbps unmetered link.

We need more support to our community-driven Witness:
In your wallet settings hub set byteball.fr/bb

Thank you!

Nice !

I see my IP as a full wallet although I got a light wallet, is it normal ?

What is your IP?

Byteball payment gateway for web merchants https://byteball-for-merchants.com/ - BEEB  (Blackbytes Exchange Bot): https://www.beeb-bot.com/ (closed)
Network map, stats, Top Richests and Byteball world map at https://byteball.fr/ (closed) - Hub operator featuring the cashback witness https://byteball-cashback-witness.com (closed)

Little addition -to keep you (every Newbie) from anger and disappointment

1.To get new bytes, it is sufficient to hold bytes at an arbitrary BB address - nothing to do Smiley
2.To get also blackbytes, it is necessary that this BB-address is linked.

Linked means the address is known to the bot.
The bot knows an address, when the BB-address is linked to one or more Bitcoin address(es).
Whether the Bitcoin address is empty or contains a value does not matter.

Note "purchased bytes":
If someone buys bytes and never linked a BTC address, he will receive only new bytes!
It is not possible in this case to distribute blackbytes (private currency). According to point 2 you have to link the BB address to receive also Blackbytes.

Note "Address change"
Maybe you are an active trader, at each transaction the Bytes will jump around between the BB-addresses (same as in a BTC-wallet).

In this case, before the snapshot, you have to make sure that the BTCs (to receive Bytes) and the bytes
(to receive also Blackbytes) are consolidated on an arbitrary linked addresses.
Therefore, there is always the hint to chat with the bot just before the snapshot (to check the balance).

The 6th and subsequent rounds (yet to be announced) will follow similar rules, but the relative weight of bytes vs. BTC (i.e. which amount of bytes gives the same share in the new distribution as 1 BTC) in the 6th and further rounds will change and will gradually increase to 1 BTC=62.5 MB.  It will be selected to maximize the value of bytes and keep the speed of distribution in sync with the growth of user base and the actual use of the network.

Can someone interpret this for me? Does this mean bytes will earn more or less than 10% going forward. The way it is worded is slightly confusing to me.  Smiley

at the moment

1btc proven balance gives you 62.5mb
1gb gives 0.1gb

so 1btc gives 62.5mb or 0.0625 gigabytes
or 1gigabyte gives 100mb or 0.1 gigabytes

so holding gigabytes gives more advantage if you want more byteball.

approx comparison
1btc will give 62.5mb or 0.0625 gigabytes
that same 1btc used to buy byteball now is 6 almost 7 gigabyte.

that 7gigabyte would give 700mb or 0.7gigabyte

that help?

Was there any progress in this area:

Byteball is centralized in 12 servers so it's extremely hard to take it seriously as more than an interesting experiment to see how it's version of DAG works out.

Do the devs still control the majority of the witnesses? Is it really 12 servers or it's 12 processes running on a single machine or maybe it's even 1 process on 1 machine that uses 12 identities?

https://github.com/byteball/byteball#byteball-backups-and-recovery

You can also use the full backup or backup seed options from the global preferences. Mind that the seed can recover only bytes (not blackbytes).

(it's the same as a full node)

- thre is no pw for the wallet?

What is pw?

- how can i safe my coins?

If you mean back them up then you have your answer, otherwise can you be more specific please?
