Hi all

Can anyone help me with 480 nitro+. After I change my bios on mod and restart my PC, my rig dosen't work?
Do I have to reinstall my drivers or something?

I am assuming you are in Windows 10 so yes the windows need to "see" your new GPU's bios mod
They will start going black screen and appearing in a loop trying to cope with the change.
Do a reboot after that and if the cards are not recognized as they should you have to do a DDU and reinstall the drivers

I give it a 70% chance that you will need to reinstall drivers 

I did DDU an reinstalled my drivers and  still have the same problem. Driver menager shows me an issue with this card

Since you are using a custom BIOS the driver you use will either have to be older than 16.12.1 (AMD started BIOS signature checks in this version and newer). If you are windows 10 there is a workaround to doing this using the newer drivers. I use 16.12.1 for my ETH rig since my R9 380 runs better on that driver than older ones. Also I would like to know the results of your BIOS mod since I have 2 of those cards running ZEC currently unmodified.

So you aren't using a custom BIOS on your Nitro+? You just flipped the switch to the Silent BIOS (towards the outputs) and the drivers don't work?

Ok that is what I thought. Since you are on Win 7 you will have to load drivers older than 16.12.1. AMD added BIOS signature checks to the drivers in 16.12.1 so they won't load properly if you have a custom bios. I would go with 16.9.1. They were my go to driver when I was having troubles with 16.12.1.

You could have a bad card. Is your it Windows? And if it is check the minidump file to see what error message it shows. I was having stability issues with stock clocks on a rig with just 2 cards and turned out one of them was bad.

You could have a bad card. Is your it Windows? And if it is check the minidump file to see what error message it shows. I was having stability issues with stock clocks on a rig with just 2 cards and turned out one of them was bad.

It could be the low PSU. You need a bigger power supply. Or better risers.

I've loaded a modded BIOS and my rigs don't see the drivers.

 Drop back to the 16.10.1 WHQL driver, IMO the best version AMD has released since 15.12 and definitely the best for RX 4xx series cards.
 Any of the 16.10 and 16.9 versions were pretty much a tossup on performance, though, but I like the extra testing that gets put into WHQL driver versions for better reliability.

 Everything since then has been a performance hit, or a lot lower reliability - and don't get me STARTED on the bloody "Relive" bloatware garbage that has got me looking seriously at dropping AMD entirely.


 While it is more of an issue with Windows 10 due to that "can't turn the bloody autoupdate garbage off easily IF at all" stupidity Micro$haft inflicted on 10 users, you also have to watch out for AMD installer trying to auto-update your drivers on Win 7 to newer "BREAKS THINGS" versions.
 NEVER click the "autoupdate drivers" option on that stupid installer for a mining machine.

i switched from minergate pool to flypool
i was getting 165h/s on minergate pool, but when i switched to flypool, i started having 150h/s
i switched back to minergate pool and still same 150h/s

what could  be the problem?

If you restart the computer, is that still 150H/s?

I think the driver reset, so i had to increase the clock and got back 165

my fear is that, i don't want my GPU to fry, as i have increase the clocking through the driver to:

Fan speed:    70

my hashes increased from 150 - 168
is this normal? or my card at high risk of frying?

At 68 degree, your gpu will be fine.

what is the temperature in the room? you can lower the overall temperature of the work, not only to lower the temperature of the card.

Could anyone help pls.
When started Claymore 12.4 or 12.3 it works about 10-15 minutes with only 3 Asus Radeon RX 480 8 Gb graphic cards then freezes showing WATCHDOG notice or   Blue Screen Of Death .With 4 cards it crashes even earlier but with one card running for more then 1 hour (all cards individually) and probably would be running longer but I did not check. Also , windows does not see more than four cards if I plug them all the same time . Parameters : Windows  10 64-bit, pagefile 32 Gb, catalyst 16.2.2 foe AMD, motherboard Asus Strix Z270F, two Power Supply Units 750 Watt each, Cpu i5-7400, Ram 8 Gb.

actually you can under-volt without losing hashrate, reduce temp a lot
got mine rx470 & 570 runing at full speed  best ones runs at 975mv the worse at 1000

i also had my corsair 1000w running at 1220w (not great) after undervolting it s more close to 1000

undervolting saves power and heat.

as long as the clocks are the same you will get the same hashrate at lower power and heat.

it s actually hard to identify  in the miner , in msi afterburner and wish pci-e slot it is, is actually difficult to see because nothing match

i run one at slow speed to identify it ,

also you cannot trust the fan speed showing in claymore  it doesn't match the gpu in miner in claymore

 i first tried like this , i got gpu 0 hang .. in claymore

so in msi afterburner i  start the fan at high speed  for gpu 0 than 1 ..   and see in claymore when fan from gpu 0 get high so i know with one it was but it was not right
 i notice  the fan showing in claymore for gpu0  was actuality gpu 2   lol  

so to identify the gpu i run it at very low clock speed  and check the hashrate to see with one it is

and for some miner you have to restart the miner to get change, for exemple the cryptonight miner  doesn't matter what clock you put on the gpu or memory  after miner is started, it has no effect , you can only change frequency before starting the miner
