ZCash will continue with its hype until people realize that it was nothing rather than another altcoin, thus turning their attention into better and well developed coins that provide true innovation and stability.

As for me, will continue to watch over ZCash's price and development over time and see how it will be after 4 years. If all goes well into it, then I might invest a little into it, otherwise I will stick with Komodo and good old Monero.

Yeah it seems so. ZEC price has been quite stable these days, so I wouldn't mind throwing a few BTC at it just to get started. As long as the technology underlying ZCash gets improved over time, making it a strong use case for anonymity, then it should be no problem to hold it for the long term.

It is best to buy ZEC instead of mining it, in my opinion, as mining it with founder's reward would be less profitable per hashrate.

I wouldn't invest in Zcash right now. The price isn't so great for buying it, nor for selling.
Personally, I would mine it when it's still profitable and then I would convert it to some other altcoin with a potential.
Of course, it's hard to say what other altcoin could have the potential, but if you do some research, you can put your trust in some cheap coin and wait what will happen.

Zcash like any other altcoin out there is good as long as there is a pump going on and you can get in before the pump starts preferably or at least get in before the top and get out on the top. but apart from that it is not worth investing large amounts of money in because it is bound to fail like many other pump and dumps in the long term.

Yeah. ZCash started it all, providing a new kind of way to anonymize your transactions. This resulted into a massive hype, leaving room for other alternatives to emerge.

Komodo really does provide true innovation, despite the fact that it implements the same technology as ZCash which is Zero Knowledge Proof. Things like securing its network using Bitcoin's blockchain, is a really smart move as most altcoins out there are much smaller networks than BTC, and lack of a great security mechanism against 51% attacks.
